Background: Improving the mechanical properties and angiogenesis of acellular scaffolds before transplantation is an important challenge facing the development of acellular liver grafts. The present study aimed to evaluate the cytotoxicity and angiogenesis of polyethylene glycol(PEG) crosslinked decellularized single liver lobe scaffolds(DLSs), and establish its suitability as a graft for long-term liver tissue engineering. Methods: Using mercaptoacrylate produced by the Michael addition reaction, DLSs were first modified using N-succinimidyl S-acetylthioacetate(SATA), followed by cross-linking with PEG as well as vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF). The optimal concentration of agents and time of the individual steps were identified in this procedure through biomechanical testing and morphological analysis. Subsequently, human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVECs) were seeded on the PEG crosslinked scaffolds to detect the proliferation and viability of cells. The scaffolds were then transplanted into the subcutaneous tissue of Sprague-Dawley rats to evaluate angiogenesis. In addition, the average number of blood vessels was evaluated in the grafts with or without PEG at days 7, 14, and 21 after implantation. Results: The PEG crosslinked DLS maintained their three-dimensional structure and were more translucent after decellularization than native DLS, which presented a denser and more porous network structure. The results for Young’s modulus proved that the mechanical properties of 0.5 PEG crosslinked DLS were the best and close to that of native livers. The PEG-VEGF-DLS could better promote cell proliferation and differentiation of HUVECs compared with the groups without PEG cross-linking. Importantly, the average density of blood vessels was higher in the PEG-VEGF-DLS than that in other groups at days 7, 14, and 21 after implantation in vivo. The objectives of the present study were to detect the polymorphism in follicle stimulating hormone beta （FSHβ） gene and investigate the relationship between FSHβ gene and high prolificacy in *** to the sequence of ovine FSHβ gene,two pairs of primers were designed to detect single nucleotide polymorphism of exon 2 of FSHβ gene in two goat breeds,Xinong Saanen dairy goat and Boer goat,by *** least square mean and genetic variance of different genotypes at polymorphic locus were analyzed,and the selection reaction was forecasted by genetic correlation between marker locus and genetic variance of litter size *** was one polymorphic locus occurring in exon 2 （P2） with three genotypes （EE,EF and FF）.In Xinong Saanen dairy goat,EE genotype had significantly higher （P 〈 0.05） litter size than EF and FF genotype in the first to fourth parity and average parity;EF genotype had significantly higher （P 〈 0.05） litter size than FF genotype in the second and average *** Boer goat,EE genotype had significantly higher （P 〈 0.01） litter size than EF and FF genotype in the second to fourth parity and average parity;EF genotype had significantly higher （P 〈 0.05） litter size than FF genotype in average *** Xinong Saanen dairy and Boer goat,the heredity of litter size was mainly influenced by genetic additive effect and the EE genotype is a favorable marker genotype for litter size in these two breeds.

Study of 3-D Numerical Simulation for Gas Transfer in the Goaf of the Coal Mining

In order to simulate field distribution rules,mathematical models for 3-D air flows and gas transfer in the goaf of the coal mining are established,based on theories of permeability and dynamic dispersion through porous media. A gas dispersion equation in a 3-D field is calculated by use of numerical method on a weighted upstream multi-element balance. Based on data of an example with a U type ventilation mode,surface charts of air pressure distribution and gas concentration are drawn by Graphtool software. Finally,a comparison between actually measured results in the model test and the numerical simulation results is made to proves the numerical implementation feasible.

AIM: To study the pharmacokinetics of recombinant human basic fibroblast growth factor (rhbFGF) in rabbits and mice after iv and postocular administration, and the changes of rhbFGF in rabbits aqueous humor after postocular administration. METHODS: After iv or postocular administration three doses of rhbFGF in rabbits and mice, rhbFGF concentration in serum and rabbit aqueous humor was determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. RESULTS: Serum concentration-time data of rabbits after iv administration of rhbFGF 1, 2, and 4 μg/kg were fitted to bi-exponential equations with half-lives of 0.9, 0.9, and 0.6 min for T1/2α and 7, 8, and 4.7 min for T1/2β. Plasma concentration-time data of mice after iv administration of rhbFGF 2.5, 5 and 10 μg/kg were fitted to bi exponential equations with half-lives of 0.4, 0.6, and 0.9 min for T1/2α　and 6, 5, and 7 min for T1/2β.The AUCs were linearly correlated to doses in both cases (rrabbit=0.997, rmouse=0.999). Sepsis involves the early activation of both pro-and antiinflammatory responses,but is also accompanied by major changes in nonimmunologic pathways.[1]Autophagy is the lysosome-dependent process of removing damaged proteins and organelles.[2]Accumulating evidence from in vitro and in vivo studies reveals that autophagy may have a protective effect on sepsis,and the late-stage suppression of autophagy is associated with a poor outcome.[3]Thus,reversal of late-stage autophagy may be a good therapeutic strategy for ***,the identification of biomarker,which could inform the clinical diagnosis of autophagic impairment,will be essential for guiding the management of septic patients.

The geographic distribution, γ-radiation level and specific activity of radionuclides of the bone-coal mines in Zhejiang Province were reported. The weighted average of γ-radiation dose rate of the bone-coal mines is 566 nGy/h for 107 main bone-coal mines. The weighted mean activity of 238U, 226Ra, 232Th and 40K in the samples are 949, 918, 34 and 554 Bq/kg for 171 samples of bone-coal, respectively.
