Feralization is an important evolutionary process,but the mechanisms behind it remain poorly ***,we use the ancient fiber crop ramie(Boehmeria nivea(L.)Gaudich.)as a model to investigate genomic changes associated with both domestication and *** first produced a chromosome-scale de novo genome assembly of feral ramie and investigated structural variations between feral and domesticated ramie ***,we gathered 915 accessions from 23 countries,comprising cultivars,major landraces,feral populations,and the wild *** on whole-genome resequencing of these accessions,we constructed the most comprehensive ramie genomic variation map to ***,demographic,and admixture signal detection analyses indicated that feral ramie is of exoferal or exo-endo origin,i.e.,descended from hybridization between domesticated ramie and the wild progenitor or ancient *** ramie has higher genetic diversity than wild or domesticated ramie,and genomic regions affected by natural selection during feralization differ from those under selection during *** analyses showed that feral and domesticated ramie have similar ecological niches that differ substantially from the niche of the wild progenitor,and three environmental variables are associated with habitat-specific adaptation in feral *** findings advance our understanding of feralization,providing a scientific basis for the excavation of new crop germplasm resources and offering novel insights into the evolution of feralization in nature.

Crop phenomics enables the collection of diverse plant traits for a large number of samples along different time scales,representing a greater data collection throughput compared with traditional *** modern crop phenomics use different sensors to collect reflective,emitted,and fluorescence signals,etc.,from plant organs at different spatial and temporal *** multi-modal,high-dimensional data not only accelerates basic research on crop physiology,genetics,and whole plant systems modeling,but also supports the optimization of field agronomic practices,internal environments of plant factories,and ultimately crop *** challenges and opportunities facing the current crop phenomics research community include developing community consensus or standards for data collection,management,sharing,and processing,developing capabilities to measure physiological parameters,and enabling farmers and breeders to effectively use phenomics in the field to directly support agricultural production.

Recently,poly(ethylene oxide)(PEO)-based solid polymer electrolytes have been attracting great attention,and efforts are currently underway to develop PEO-based composite electrolytes for next generation high performance all-solid-state lithium metal *** this article,a novel sandwich structured solid-state PEO composite electrolyte is developed for high performance all-solid-state lithium metal *** PEO-based composite electrolyte is fabricated by hot-pressing PEO,LiTFSI and Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) MXene nanosheets into glass fiber cloth(GFC).The as-prepared GFC@PEO-MXene electrolyte shows high mechanical properties,good electrochemical stability,and high lithium-ion migration number,which indicates an obvious synergistic effect from the microscale GFC and the nanoscale *** as,the GFC@PEO-1 wt%MXene electrolyte shows a high tensile strength of 43.43 MPa and an impressive Young's modulus of 496 MPa,which are increased by 1205%and 6048%over those of ***,the ionic conductivity of GFC@PEO-1 wt%MXene at 60℃ reaches 5.01×10^(-2) S m^(-1),which is increased by around 200%compared with that of GFC@PEO *** addition,the Li/Li symmetric battery based on GFC@PEO-1 wt%MXene electrolyte shows an excellent cycling stability over 800 h(0.3 mA cm^(-2),0.3 mAh cm^(-2)),which is obviously longer than that based on PEO and GFC@PEO electrolytes due to the better compatibility of GFC@PEO-1 wt%MXene electrolyte with Li ***,the solid-state Li/LiFePO_(4) battery with GFC@PEO-1 wt%MXene as electrolyte demonstrates a high capacity of 110.2–166.1 mAh g^(-1) in a wide temperature range of 25–60C,and an excellent capacity retention *** developed sandwich structured GFC@PEO-1 wt%MXene electrolyte with the excellent overall performance is promising for next generation high performance all-solid-state lithium metal batteries.

Characterization of CD4~+ T Cell Responses in Mice Infected with Schistosoma japonicum

To better understand the interaction between Schistosoma japonicum and its murine host,wecharacterized the immune response of CD4~+ T cells generated during an experimental *** infectionbased on different key aspects,from gene expression to cell *** oligonucleotide microarrayswere used to compare gene expression profiles of CD4~+ T cells from spleens of mice at 0,3,6 and 13weeks *** cytometry analysis was used to determine type 1 and type 2 cytokine-secretingCD4~+ T cells,to test apoptosis of CD4~+ T cells and to count CD4~+CD25~+ T cells,a kind of regulatorysubpopulation of CD4~+ T *** percentage of interleukin-4-producing CD4~+ T cells was found to bemuch higher than that of γ-interferon-producing cells,especially after stimulation with *** eggantigen,which was consistent with type 1 and type 2 cytokine gene expression in the *** also showed that *** induced the increased expression of Th2 response-related genes,whereassome transcripts related to the Th1 responsive pathway were *** cytometry analysis showeda marked increase in the apoptotic CD4~+ T cells from 6 weeks post-infection and in the ratio of CD4~+CD25~+to CD4~+ T cells in infected mice after 13 *** therefore concluded that experimental infection of micewith *** resulted in a Th2-skewed immune response,which was to a great extent monitored bythe immune regulatory network,including cytokine cross-modulation,cell apoptosis and the subpopulationof regulatory cells.

Analytical computation of magnetic field in coil-dominated superconducting quadrupole magnets based on racetrack coils

Currently,three types of superconducting quadrupole magnets are used in particle accelerators:cos 2θ,CCT,and ***,all three coil configurations have complex spatial geometries,which make magnet manufacturing and strain-sensitive superconductor applications *** with the three existing quadrupole coils,the racetrack quadrupole coil has a simple shape and manufacturing process,but there have been few theoretical *** this paper,the two-dimensional and three-dimensional analytical expressions for the magnetic field in coil-dominated racetrack superconducting quadrupole magnets are *** analytical expressions of the field harmonics and gradient are fully resolved and depend only on the geometric parameters of the coil and current ***,a genetic algorithm is applied to obtain a solution for the coil geometry parameters with field harmonics on the order of 10^(-4).Finally,considering the practical engineering needs of the accelerator interaction region,electromagnetic design examples of racetrack quadrupole magnets with high gradients,large apertures,and small apertures are described,and the application prospects of racetrack quadrupole coils are analyzed.

How interfacial electron-donating defects influence the structure and charge of gold nanoparticles on TiO_(2)support

The reduction degree of TiO_(2)support is critical to the performances of metal *** many previous theoretical calculations,only the bridge oxygen vacancy(Ov)was considered as the electron-donating defect on reduced rutile TiO_(2)(r-TiO_(2−x))***,titanium adatoms(Tiad.),oxidized titanium islands(***),and acid hydroxyls(ObrH)also exist at the metal/support *** conducting density functional theory(DFT)calculations and ab initio molecular dynamics(AIMD)simulations,we compared r-TiO_(2−x)surfaces with Ov,Tiad.,***,and ObrH sites loaded with Au nanoparticles(NPs).The results showed the Au NPs were oxygen-phobic but titanium-philic,resulting in wetting of Ov and *** short contact with *** and *** Bader charges of Au NPs(QM)showed a good linear relationship with the ideal number of donating electrons(Ne)from the defective sites(QM=−KeNe+QM,S),demonstrating the intrinsic electron allocation at the *** Ov,Tiad.,and *** exhibited similar slopes(Ke),relatively steeper than that of *** means in the scope of Au NP charge state,the *** *** have a close electron-donating ability with Ov,but the ObrH donates relatively fewer *** linear relationship can be extended approximately to other *** higher the metal work function,the steeper the Ke for easier electron donation from defective *** stronger the metal oxygen affinity,the more positive the intercept(QM,S).That explains the easy generation of metallic or negative Pt and Au NPs on r-TiO_(2−x),but hard for Cu and Zn in *** provides theoretical guidance for regulating the charge of metal NPs over TiO_(2−x)supports.

The adsorption process of droplets on the liquid-liquid interface and phase separation process can regulate the spatial distribution of the fluid system,which are crucial for chemical ***,the cross-linking reaction,which is widely used in the field of polymers,can change the physical properties of the fluids and affect the flow behavior accordingly.A configuration of microchannels is designed to conveniently generate uniform droplets in one phase of the parallel *** flow behavior of the adsorption process of sodium alginate droplets on the liquid-liquid interface is investigated,and the subsequent process of phase separation is *** the process of droplet adsorption,the crosslinking reaction occurs synchronously,which makes the droplet viscosity and the elasticity modules of the droplet surface increase,thus affecting the dynamics of the adsorption process and the equilibrium shape of the *** variation of the adsorption length with time is divided into three stages,which all conform to power law *** exponents of the second and third stages deviate from the results of the Tanner's *** flow pattern maps of droplet adsorption and phase separation are drawn,and the operating ranges of complete adsorption and complete separation are *** study provides a theoretical basis for further studying the flow behavior of droplets with cross-linking reaction in a microchannel.

Improvement of Film Cooling Design for Turbine Vane Leading Edge Considering Combustor Outflow

As the interaction between the combustor and the turbine in the aero-engine continues to increase,the film cooling design considering the combustor swirling outflow has become the research *** swirling inflow and high-temperature gas first affect the vane leading edge(LE).However,no practical improved solution for the LE cooling design has been proposed considering the combustor swirling *** this paper,the improved scheme of showerhead cooling is carried out around the two ways of adopting the laid-back-fan-shaped hole and reducing the coolant outflow *** film cooling effectiveness(η) and the coolant flow state are obtained by PSP(pressure-sensitive-paint) and numerical simulation methods,*** research results show that the swirling inflow increases the film distribution inhomogeneity by imposing the radial pressure gradient on the vane to make the film excessively gather in some *** showerhead film cooling adopts the laid-back-fan-shaped hole to reduce the momentum when the coolant flows *** this cooling scheme improves the film attachment and increases the surface-averaged film cooling effectiveness(η_(sur)) by as much as15.4%,the film distribution inhomogeneity *** reducing the coolant outlet angle,the wall-tangential velocity of the coolant increases,and the wall-normal velocity *** the swirl intake condition,both ηand the film distribution uniformity are significantly increased,and the growth of η_(sur) is up to 16.5%.This paper investigates two improved schemes to improve the showerhead cooling under the swirl intake condition to provide a reference for the vane cooling design.

Circadian disturbance induces erectile dysfunction by impairing endothelial function

In order to explore the impact of circadian disturbance on erectile function,we randomly divided 24 adult male rats into groups of control(light on at 8:00 *** off at 8:00 p.m.),dark/dark(DD;constant dark),light/light(LL;constant light),and shift dark/light(DL;light off at 8:00 *** on at 8:0o p.m.).Four weeks later,erectile function was measured and corpora cavernosa were harvested for *** maximum intracavernous pressure(mlcP)and mCP/mean arterial pressure(MAP)ratio in the DD,LL,and DL groups were significantly lower than that in the control *** LL and DL groups showed significantly attenuated endothelial nitric oxide synthase(eNOS),while DD,LL,and DL showed reduced neuronal nitric oxide synthase(nNOS)at both mRNA and protein *** production of nitric oxide(NO)and cyclic guanosinemonophosphate(cGMP)was inhibited by altered light/dark cycles to varying *** disturbance impaired endothelial function and contributed to erectile *** the core circadian elements,mRNA expression of circadian locomotor output cycles kaput(Clock)and brain/muscle aryl-hydrocarbon receptor nuclear translocator-like protein 1(Bmal1)was elevated in the DL group,but their protein expression was not significantly ***,LL,and DL increased period 1(Per1)and Per3 levels,while LL and DL increased PER1 *** significant difference was found for Per2levels,and PER2 and PER3 concentrations were not significantly ***,LL and DL significantly increased cryptochrome-1(CRY1)and CRY2 at both mRNA and protein *** altered light/dark rat model showed that circadian disturbance contributed to erectile dysfunction probably by impairing endothelial ***,the core circadian elements were detected in the corpora cavernosa,but these were ***,which circadian element regulates erectile function and how it works need further analysis.
