Salidroside(8-O-β-D-glucoside of tyrosol),a plant-derived natural product,is used for treatment of hypoxia,fatigue and aging diseases.The availability of salidroside is restricted since it is extracted from3-5 years old Rhodiola roots,which grow very slowly in the cold region of northern hemisphere of Earth.Our laboratory has constructed an engineered Escherichia coli and established a fermentation process to produce salidroside from glucose.In this article,nine macroporous resins from polarity to non-polarity,including NKA-9,S-8,AB-8,SP825,D101,LSA-8,LX-12,LX-18 and LX-68 resins,were tested to separate salidroside from fermentation broth.After static and dynamic experiments,the weakly polar SP825 resin had a better separation efficiency among nine resins.The adsorption kinetic and isotherm of salidroside on the SP825 resin were determined,and the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and Langmuir model could be fitted well.The effects of the pH on adsorption and ethanol concentration on desorption were investigated,and an optimal separation process was established.The adsorption for salidroside in the SP825 resin column was conducted with loading 150 ml at pH 7,and desorpted by washing 50 ml of80%ethanol solution.Under the best process conditions,the purity and yield of salidroside in the final product were 91.6%and 74.0%,respectively.The results showed that the macroporous SP825 resin would be feasible and effective to prepare salidroside and has promising application in the downstream process of microbial fermentation.

An unavoidable but reusable waste so as to enhance a more circular waste utilization has been spent potlining(SPL) generated by the aluminum industry.The combustion mechanisms, evolved gasses, and ash properties of SPL were characterized dynamically in response to the elevated temperature and heating rates.Differential scanning calorimetric(DSC) results indicated an exothermic reaction behavior probably able to meet the energy needs of various industrial applications.The reaction mechanisms for the SPL combustion were best described using the 1.5-, 3-and 2.5-order reaction models.Fluoride volatilization rate of the flue gas was estimated at 2.24%.The SPL combustion emitted CO_(2), HNCO, NO, and NO_(2) but SO_(x).The joint optimization of remaining mass, derivative thermogravimetry, and derivative DSC was achieved with the optimal temperature and heating rate combination of 783.5 ℃, and 5 ℃/min, respectively.Interaction between temperature and heating rate exerted the strongest and weakest impact on DSC and remaining mass, respectively.The fluorine mainly as the formation of substantial NaF and CaF_(2) in the residual ash.Besides,the composition and effect of environment of residual solid were evaluated.The ash slagging tendency and its mineral deposition mechanisms were elucidated in terms of turning SPL waste into a benign input to a circular waste utilization.

Using Big Data to Discover Chaos in China’s Futures Market During COVID-19

COVID-19 was first reported in China and quickly spread throughout the world.Weak investor confidence in government efforts to control the pandemic seriously affected global financial markets.This study investigated chaos in China’s futures market during COVID-19,focusing on the degree of chaos at different periods during the pandemic.We constructed a phase diagram to observe the attractor trajectory of index futures(IFs).During the COVID-19 outbreak,overall chaos in China’s futures market was increasing,and there was a clear correlation between market volatility and the macroenvironment(mainly government regulation).The Hurst index,calculated by rescaled range(R/S)analysis,was 0.46.The price and return of IFs showed long-term correlation and fractal characteristics;the relevant dimensions of the futures market were 2.17.Overall,under the influence of an emergency(COVID-19),chaos in China’s financial market intensified,creating a need for timely government intervention and macrocontrol of the market.This study’s findings can help improve the government’s understanding of the phenomenon of financial chaos caused by emergencies.This study also provides theoretical guidance for controlling financial chaos and maintaining healthy economic development when faced with similar events in the future.

This paper presents an operational framework of unstructured decision-making approach involving quality function deployment(QFD)in an uncertain linguistic context.Firstly,QFD is extended to the multi-enterprise paradigm in a real-world manufacturing environment.Secondly,hesitant fuzzy linguistic term sets(HFLTSs),which facilitate the management and handling of information equivocality,are designed to construct a house of quality(HoQ)in the product planning process.The technique of computing with words is applied to bridge the gap between mechanisms of the human brain and machine processes with fuzzy linguistic term sets.Thirdly,a multi-enterprise QFD pattern is formulated as an unstructured decision-making problem for alternative infrastructure project selection in a manufacturing organization.The inter-relationships of cooperative partners are directly matched with a back propagation neural network(BPNN)to construct the multi-enterprise manufacturing network.The resilience of the manufacturing organization is considered by formulating an outranking method on the basis of HFLTSs to decide on infrastructure project alternatives.Finally,a real-world example,namely,the prototype manufacturing of an automatic transmission for a vehicle,is provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed decision-making approach.

In a recent issue of Science,Acosta-Rodriguez et al.defined a feeding paradigm to maximize the effects of caloric restriction(CR)on lifespans.Aligning feeding with the circadian rhythm and imposing>12-hour fasting daily on caloric-restricted animals can optimally extend lifespans.While embracing the projection of our life expectancy in the last 100~150 years,we are facing aging,an all-new challenge in human evolution.Aging-associated diseases have gradually replaced communicable diseases,becoming the top cause of death globally.The increasing social and medical burdens call for not only novel therapies for chronic diseases but also early interventions that mitigate the progression of aging and extend life and health spans.

Predicting the external flow field with limited data or limited measurements has attracted long-time interests of researchers in many industrial applications.Physics informed neural network(PINN)provides a seamless framework for combining the measured data with the deep neural network,making the neural network capable of executing certain physical constraints.Unlike the data-driven model to learn the end-to-end mapping between the sensor data and high-dimensional flow field,PINN need no prior high-dimensional field as the training dataset and can construct the mapping from sensor data to high dimensional flow field directly.However,the extrapolation of the flow field in the temporal direction is limited due to the lack of training data.Therefore,we apply the long short-term memory(LSTM)network and physics-informed neural network(PINN)to predict the flow field and hydrodynamic force in the future temporal domain with limited data measured in the spatial domain.The physical constraints(conservation laws of fluid flow,e.g.,Navier-Stokes equations)are embedded into the loss function to enforce the trained neural network to capture some latent physical relation between the output fluid parameters and input tempo-spatial parameters.The sparsely measured points in this work are obtained from computational fluid dynamics(CFD)solver based on the local radial basis function(RBF)method.Different numbers of spatial measured points(4–35)downstream the cylinder are trained with/without the prior knowledge of Reynolds number to validate the availability and accuracy of the proposed approach.More practical applications of flow field prediction can compute the drag and lift force along with the cylinder,while different geometry shapes are taken into account.By comparing the flow field reconstruction and force prediction with CFD results,the proposed approach produces a comparable level of accuracy while significantly fewer data in the spatial domain is needed.The numerical results demonstrate that the proposed approach with a spe

Myocardial ischemia(MI)causes somatic referred pain and sympathetic hyperactivity,and the role of sensory inputs from referred areas in cardiac function and sympathetic hyperactivity remain unclear.Here,in a rat model,we showed that MI not only led to referred mechanical hypersensitivity on the forelimbs and upper back,but also elicited sympathetic sprouting in the skin of the referred area and C8–T6 dorsal root ganglia,and increased cardiac sympathetic tone,indicating sympathetic-sensory coupling.Moreover,intensifying referred hyperalgesic inputs with noxious mechanical,thermal,and electro-stimulation(ES)of the forearm augmented sympathetic hyperactivity and regulated cardiac function,whereas deafferentation of the left brachial plexus diminished sympathoexcitation.Intradermal injection of the α_(2) adrenoceptor(α_(2)AR)antagonist yohimbine and agonist dexmedetomidine in the forearm attenuated the cardiac adjustment by ES.Overall,these findings suggest that sensory inputs from the referred pain area contribute to cardiac functional adjustment via peripheral α_(2)AR-mediated sympathetic-sensory coupling.
