This article shows experimentally the thermal performance of two test cells with different coverage systems, Ught Green Roof （LGR） and ceramic roof by analyzing internal surface temperatures （IST） in the ceiling and dry bulb temperatures （DBT）. The objective was to evaluate the spatial distnbution of temperatures in buildings according to spatial and temporal Dynamic CUmato[ogy approaches. An experimental, typical day for heat conditions was determined. The data of the main climatic vari- ables provided by an automatic weather station and temperatures inside the test cells were collected using thermocouples installed such that the entire space is included. The results led to the conclusion that the LGR has a balanced IST and DBT spatial distribution compared with ceramic roofs. Nevertheless, the analysis of the thermal performance is only one of the variables that must be considered when developing a construction proposal that is adapted to the context. The manner in which the thermocouples were placecl inside the test cells also showed the importance of specifying the location of the sensors in experimental studies on the behavior and thermal performance of buildings.

experiments were conducted to investigate the effect of adding fines on the tribo-charging of coarse glass beads. Four types of fines, i.e., copper, stainless steel, uncoated and silver-coated fine glass beads, mixed w让h 240-830 μm glass beads were conveyed by air through a stainless-steel spiral pipe acting as a tribo-charger. Regardless of the type or electrical conductivity of the fine particles tested, adding small amounts of fines (up to 10wt%) to coarse glass beads resulted in a sharp increase in the mass and surface charge densities of the particles. In gen eral, the profiles of the mass and surface charge den sides of the fine-coarse particle mixtures as a function of the mixture composition were determined by the relative magnitude of contact potential differences and the total surface areas of all the comp on ents. The domi nant particle tri bo-electrification mecha nism switched from coarse particle-wall con tacts to fine particle-wall contacts when the fines weight percentage in the mixture exceeded 10%. A model was developed to predict the mass charge density of bi nary mixtures as a function of the mixture composition.

Titanium(IV) oxide (TiO2) nanoparticles have been incorporated into mixed matrix membranes (MMMs) to improve gas separation performance. However, TiO2 nanoparticles tend to agglomerate due to high surface energy and van der Waals forces. This leads to precipitation which causes the formation of non-homogeneous MMM morphology. In this study, the effect of octaisobutyl polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS) addition on TiO2/polysulfone MMM was investigated. The aims are to enhance gas separation performance whilst preventing agglomeration of TiO2 nanoparticles. The results demonstrated that inclusion of POSS as dispersant increases MMMs’ CO2/CH4 selectivity and permeance, possibly due to less void formation and more evenly distributed pore structure. For example, synergistic addition of 5 wt% TiO2 and 5 wt% POSS increased the CO2/CH4 selectivity up to 390% compared to MMM without POSS. This is supported by elemental mapping of titanium which revealed that POSS successfully dispersed TiO2 nanoparticles and prevented aggregation. TiO2-POSS/PSf MMMs also retained their favorable thermal stability.

BACKGROUND Cholangioscopy has been described in case reports and series to facilitate guidewire placement in difficult benign biliary ***,it has been infrequently used in difficult benign anastomotic liver transplant biliary strictures to visualize the stricture orifice for guidewire *** we describe a case of guidewire placement through a difficult malignant biliary stricture using single operator *** SUMMARY A 74-year-old female presented with jaundice and weight *** ultrasound and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(eRCP)by other endoscopists demonstrated pancreatic adenocarcinoma with a dilated cystic duct(CD)and proximal common bile duct(CBD).The associated distal CBD stricture was dilated and stented with a plastic *** she subsequently developed cholangitis,prompting referral for a repeat *** stent was found to have migrated distally to the confluence of the dilated CD and CBD *** using multiple hydrophilic guidewires,the stricture could not be traversed due to preferential wire passage into the dilated *** DS(Boston Scientific Corp,Marlborough,MA,United States)was then used to visualize the orifices of the CD and CBD stenosis,enabling the guidewire to be placed directly through the stricture into the proximal CBD.A WallFlex covered metal stent(Boston Scientific Corp,Marlborough,MA,United States)was successfully placed,resulting in resolution of her *** To our knowledge,this is one of the first cases to describe successful cholangioscopic guidewire placement for malignant biliary strictures.

This paper discusses the response of the thermal insulation Lining of rigid foam potyurethane （PU） derived from castor oil （Ricinus communis） in heat conditions, based on dynamic climate approach. Liners have been widely used, because the coverage of buildings is responsible for the greatest absorption of heat by radiation, but the use of PU foam deMved from this vegetal oil is unprecedented and has the advantage of being biodegradable and renewable. The hot wire paraLleL method provided the thermal conductivity vatue of the foam. The thermo- gravimetric analysis enabled the study of the foam decomposition and its Lifetime by kinetic evaLuation that involves the decomposition process. The PU foam thermal behavior analysis was performed by coLlecting experimental data of internal surface temperature measured by thermocouples and assessed by representative episode of the climatic fact. The results Lead to the conclusion that the PU foamderived from castor oit can be applied to thermat insulation of roof systems and is an environmentaLLy friendly materiaL.

Characterization of cobalt ferrite-supported activated carbon for removal of chromium and lead ions from tannery wastewater via adsorption equilibrium

In this experiment,cobalt ferrite-supported activated carbon(CF-AC)was developed and characterized via the wet impregnation method for the removal of Cr and Pb(II)ions from tannery *** adsorption was carried out to evaluate the effect of experimental operating conditions(pH of solution,contact time,adsorbent dose,and temperature),and the removal efficiencies of Cr and Pb(II)ions by the developed adsorbents were calculated and recorded for all experimental *** variables were estimated and reported as removal efficiencies of 98.2%for Cr and 96.4%for Pb(II)ions at the optimal conditions of 5,0.8 g,80 min,and 333 K for pH,adsorbent dose,contact time,and temperature,*** equilibrium for the sorption of Cr and Pb(II)ions was studied using four widely used isotherm models(the Langmuir,Freundlich,Dubinin-Radushkevich,and Temkin isotherm models).It was found that the Freundlich isotherm model fit better with the coefficient of determination(R2)of 0.9484 and a small sum of square error of *** maximum adsorption capacities(Qm)of Pb(II)and Cr adsorbed onto CF-AC were determined to be 6.27 and 23.6 mg/g,*** adsorption process conformed well to pseudo-second order kinetics as revealed by the high R2 values obtained for both *** thermodynamic parameters showed that adsorption of Cr and Pb(II)ions onto CF-AC was spontaneous,feasible,and endothermic under the studied *** mean adsorption energy(e)values revealed that the adsorption mechanism of Cr and Pb(II)by CF-AC is physical in *** results of the study showed that adsorbent developed from CF-AC can be efficiently used as an environmentally friendly alternative adsorbent,for removal of Cr and Pb(II)ions in tannery wastewater.
