past research has focused on the factors that influence liquefaction under normal shaking ***,studies on parameters that influence the reliquefaction potential of saturated deposits during repeated shaking events are *** this study,an attempt has been made to examine the influence of acceleration amplitude and shaking duration on liquefaction and reliquefaction potential under repeated shaking conditions is conducted.1-g uni-axial shaking table experiments were performed on saturated ground prepared with 40%and 60%relative *** prepared ground was subjected to alternate longer and shorter shaking durations(40 and 20 s)of repeated incremental 0.1 g,0.2 g,0.3 g and 0.4 g acceleration loading,*** variation in density,excess pore water pressure(EpWp),cyclic resistance ratio(CRR)and surface settlement were *** results showed that due to repeated incremental shaking events,reliquefaction was observed on the prepared *** longer shaking duration,the post-liquefied soil showed density improvement with improved soil ***,the application of shorter duration loading followed by longer shaking reduced the beneficial effect of density improvement by disturbing the densified *** to this,the ground was found to be more susceptible to reliquefaction in the subsequent incremental longer shaking event.

We present a mixed reality-based assistive system for shading paper *** a paper sketch made by an artist,our interface helps inexperienced users to shade it ***,using a simple Delaunaytriangulation based inflation algorithm,an approximate depth map is *** system then highlights areas(to assist shading)based on a rendering of the 2.5-dimensional inflated model of the input *** the help of a mixed reality system,we project the highlighted areas back to aid *** hints given by the system are used for shading and are smudged appropriately to apply an artistic shading to the *** user is given flexibility at various levels to simulate conditions such as height and light *** show that the proposed system aids novice users in creating sketches with impressive shading.

This paper evaluates and discusses ways to use five energy resources more efficiently for generating electric power. An analysis of five different 10 MW powerplants was madepan>pan>:pan>pan> a photovoltaic system, a concentrated solar power system, wind turbines, a natural gas combined cycle and an integrated solar combined cycle. Also, each power plant’s operating principle, thermodynamic analysis, economic analysis, and simulation evaluation wpan>pan>erepan>pan>pan style="font-size:12px;font-family:Verdana;">pan style="font-size:12px;font-family:Verdana;">pan style="font-family:Verdana;font-size:12px;"> made using the System Advisor Model (SAM), Engineering Equation Solver (EES), and the Thermoflow power plant Simulation program. From the analysis, the power plant capacity factor, grid availability, levelized cost of electricity, and annual energy production are compared and analyzed to determine a suitable power plant for a given location.

Availability of clean water is going to become one of biggest demands of the country. Even though there arc various technologies available for purification of water harnessing solar energy fits the purpose for future problems. Distillation is one of many processes available for water purification, and solar energy is one of several forms of heat energy that can be used to energize this process. In this review a study is made to enhance the productivity of the solar stills by connecting solar still with latent heat storage and solar air heater in series and other factors like improving evaporation rate by maintaining Low depth, more exposure area, heat addition by solar collector and presence of latent heat storage material, which is a paraffin wax as a integral part of still. Latent heat storage is one of the most efficient ways of storing thermal energy. Unlike the sensible heat storage method, the latent heat storage method provides much higher storage density, with a smaller temperature difference between storing and releasing heat. Further augmentation of the yield by scraps, pebble, and sand are added.

Multidimensional QSAR Modeling of Amprenavir Derivatives as HIV-protease Inhibitors

A computational study has been performed on a series of 55 compounds having (S)-N-(3-(N-(cyclopean- tylmethyl)substituted-phenylsulfonamido)-2-hydroxypropyl)acetamide backbone as HIV-1 protease inhibitors. Various combinations of these specific inhibitors fragments were formed by breaking them at central alicyclic single bonds, while retaining the core. Standard Topomer 3D models were automatically constructed for each fragment, and a set of steric and electrostatic fields was generated for each set of topomers. The models generated showed r2 of 0.811 and crossvalidated r2 (q2) of 0.608. The other method used were Quasar and Raptor based on receptor-modelling concept (6D-QSAR) and this explicitly allows for the simulation of the induced fit, that yielded r2 of 0.574, cross-validated r2 (q2) of 0.504 and predictive r2 (q2) of 0.895 averaged over 200 models. This study has suggested the various type of substituent that can be attached to the core. The information obtained from these 3-D contour maps can be used for the design of amprenavir analogs possessing better protease inhibitory activity.

冰脊和冰山与极地船体发生碰撞将影响船体结构安全,并决定船体结构设计载荷。船体结构设计应遵循基于风险的设计原则,通常涉及以下极限状态设计准则:1)服务极限状态(SLS);2)最终极限状态(ULS);3)疲劳极限状态(FLS);4)事故极限状态(ALS)。最终极限状态和事故极限状态对应于发生概率极低的船与冰脊作用以及冰山撞击事件,旨在确保船体结构不会完全损毁。然而,对于较低概率水平的冰载荷分析,需进行较大数据量的工况分析,计算耗时无法承受。为此,引入环境等值轮廓方法,来大幅减少冰载荷分析所需工况数量,并给出设计工况最有可能的冰体参数组合方式。结合最终极限状态和事故极限状态,举例说明这一方法的运用方式。环境等值轮廓方法可为现有极地船舶船体结构设计方法提供有效补充。

TiNiHf/SiO_(2)/Si shape memory film composites for bidirectional micro actuation

The martensitic phase transformation in Ti_(40.4)Ni_(48)Hf_(11.6) shape memory alloys is leveraged for bi-directional actuation with TiNiHf/SiO_(2)/Si *** shape memory properties of magnetron sputtered Ti_(40.4)Ni_(48)Hf_(11.6) films annealed at 635℃-5 min are influenced by film thickness and the underlying *** TiNiHf film thick-ness from 21μm to 110 nm results in the reduction of all characteristic transformation temperatures until a critical thickness is ***,Ti_(40.4)Ni_(48)Hf_(11.6) thin films as low as 220 nm show transfor-mations above room temperature when deposited on SiO_(2) buffer layer,which is of great interest in *** comparison,220 nm films on Si substrates are austenitic at room temperature,and thus not suitable for *** fatigue tests on TiNiHf/SiO_(2)/Si bimorphs demonstrate better functional fatigue characteristics than freestanding films,with an average reduction of 15℃ after 125 cycles,with tempera-ture stabilization *** bi-directional actuation results are promising in the development of bistable actuators within a pMMA/TiNiHf/Si trimorph composite,whereby the additional pMMA layer undergoes a glass transition at 105℃.With the aid of constitutive modeling,a route is elaborated on how bistable actuation can be achieved at micro-to nanoscales by showing favorable thickness combinations of pMMA/TiNiHf/Si composite.

Objective:To investigate the association between forkhead box p3(FOXp3)(rs3761548)polymorphism and the risk of preeclampsia and recurrent spontaneous ***:Literature on the association of FOXp3 gene polymorphisms and susceptibility to preeclampsia and unexplained recurrent spontaneous abortion was retrieved by searching databases such as pubMed,Science Direct,Google Scholar and Embase from 2000 to *** association measure was analyzed using an odds ratio(OR)and 95%confidence interval(CI).All the statistical analyses were executed using RevMan 5.4 ***:In the present meta-analysis,11 articles were *** pooled results showed no association between FOXp3 gene polymorphism(rs3761548)and preeclampsia risk in allelic,recessive,dominant and over dominant contrast ***3 gene polymorphism(rs3761548)showed an association with recurrent abortion in allelic,recessive and dominant models(OR 1.85,CI 1.59-2.14;OR 2.02,95%CI 1.56-2.62;OR 2.69,95%CI 1.50-4.83,respectively),while no association in the over dominant contrast model(OR 1.35,CI 0.87-2.10).Conclusions:In the present study,FOXp3 gene(rs3761548)polymorphism is associated with risk of recurrent spontaneous abortion but not ***,larger sample size and multiracial studies are needed in the future to confirm the findings.

Uncontrolled diabetes gives rise to severe systemic complications that affect different systems of our body. Among those complications, hemiballismus is a rare manifestation that occurs due to hyperglycemia and can be reversible in most cases by decreasing elevated sugar levels to normal range. Here, we present a case of a patient with diabetic history since 10 years ago, who presented with uncontrolled jerky movements on one side of his body since 15 d, and he recovered after appropriate therapy. Medication adherence in diabetic patients and regular monitoring of blood sugar levels are important.
