The present study evaluated the potential of white-rot fungal strain Coriolus versicolor to decolorize five structurally different dyes in sequential batch reactors under optimized conditions. The experiments were run continuously for seven cycles of 8 d each. High decolorizing activity was observed even during the repeated reuse of the fungus, especially when the old medium was replaced with fresh medium after every cycle. Biodegradation was the dominating factor as the fungus was able to produce the enzyme laccase mainly, to mineralize synthetic dyes. The nutrients and composition of the medium played important roles in sustaining the decolorisation potential of the fungus. Corncob was found be an easy and cheap substitute for carbon source for the fungus. Glucose consumption by the fungus was in accordance to its decolorisation activity and chemical oxygen demand （COd） reduction.

We study the emission of fragments in central collisions of light and heavily charged systems of^4+Ar+^45 Sc and^s4Kr+^197 Au,respectively,using the Quantum Molecular dynamics(QMd)model as the primary *** fragments are identified using an energy based clusterization algorithm,i.e.,the Simulated Annealing Clusterization Algorithm(SACA).The charge distributions of intermediate mass fragments[3≤Zf≤12]are fitted with power-law(∝Zf^-τ)and exp on ential(∝e^-λZf)fits in order to extract the parametersτandλ,whose minimum values are also sometimes linked with the onset of fragmentation or the critical point for a liquid-gas phase *** parameters such as the normalized second moment,,average size of the second largest cluster,phase separation parameter(Sp),bimodal parameter(P),information entropy(H),and Zipfs law are also analyzed to find the exact energy of the onset of *** detailed analysis predicts that an energy point exists between 20-23.1 MeV/nucleon,which is very close to the experimentally observed value of 23.9 MeV/nucleon for the^40Ar+^45Sc *** also find that the critical energy deduced using Zipfs law is higher than those predicted from other critical ***,no minimum is found for t values of the highly charged system of^84Kr+^197Au,in agreement with experimental findings and various theoretical *** observe that the QMd+SACA model calculations are in agreement with the experimental *** agreement supports our results regarding the energy point of the liquid-gas phase transition and the onset of fragmentation.

AIM To investigate the repeatability of proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy in the in vivo measurement of human cerebral levels of choline-containing compounds(Cho).METHOdS Two consecutive scans were carried out in six healthy resting subjects at a magnetic field strength of 1.5 T. On each occasion, neurospectroscopy data were collected from 64 voxels using the same 2 d chemical shift imaging(CSI) sequence. The data were analyzed in the same way, using the same software, to obtain the values for each voxel of the ratio of Cho to creatine. The Wilcoxon related-samples signed-rank test, coefficient of variation(CV), repeatability coefficient(RC), and intraclass correlation coefficient(ICC) were used to assess the repeatability. RESULTS The CV ranged from 2.75% to 33.99%, while the minimum RC was 5.68%. There was excellent reproducibility, as judged by significant ICC values, in 26 voxels. Just three voxels showed significant differences according to the Wilcoxon related-samples signed-rank test. CONCLUSION It is therefore concluded that when CSI multivoxel proton neurospectroscopy is used to measure cerebral choline-containing compounds at 1.5 T, the reproducibility is highly acceptable.

Hot Corrosion Behaviour of Yttria-Stabilised Zirconia as Plasma Sprayed Coated Boiler Steel in Air and Salt at 900°C under Cyclic Condition

Yttria-Stabilised Zirconia (YSZ) coatings were deposited on a T-22 boiler steel. NiCrAlY was used as bond coat and YSZ as top coat. Hot corrosion studies were conducted on uncoated as well as plasma spray coated specimens in air as well as salt (75 wt.% Na2SO4 + 25 wt.% NaCl) at 900°C under cyclic conditions. The thermogravimetric technique was used to establish kinetics of corrosion. X-ray diffraction (XRd) and scanning electron microscopy/energy-dispersive x-ray analysis (SEM/EdAX) techniques were used to analyse the corrosion products. This YSZ overlay coatings enhance resistance to corrosion significantly which can be attributed to formation of zirconium oxides (ZrO2) and yttrium oxide (Y2O3). This coating was more effective in salt environment and there is an extra phase of ZrS.

Fibroblasts Accelerate Formation and Improve Reproducibility of 3d Cellular Structures Printed with Magnetic Assistance

Fibroblasts(mouse,NIH/3T3)are combined with MdA-MB-231 cells to accelerate the formation and improve the reproducibility of 3d cellular structures printed with magnetic *** and MdA-MB-231 cells are cocultured to produce 12.5:87.5,25:75,and 50:50 total population *** mixtures are suspended in a cell medium containing a paramagnetic salt,Gd-dTPA,which increases the magnetic susceptibility of the medium with respect to the cells.A 3d monotypic MdA-MB-231 cellular structure is printed within 24 hours with magnetic assistance,whereas it takes 48 hours to form a similar structure through gravitational settling *** maximum projected areas and circularities,and cellular ATP levels of the printed structures are measured for 336 *** the relative amounts of the fibroblasts mixed with the MdA-MB-231 cells decreases the time taken to form the structures and improves their *** produced through gravitational settling have larger maximum projected areas and cellular ATP,but are deemed less *** distribution of individual cell lines in the cocultured 3d cellular structures shows that printing with magnetic assistance yields 3d cellular structures that resemble in vivo tumors more closely than those formed through gravitational *** results validate our hypothesis that(1)fibroblasts act as a“glue”that supports the formation of 3d cellular structures,and(2)the structures are produced more rapidly and with greater reproducibility with magnetically assisted printing than through gravitational settling *** of 3d cellular structures with magnetic assistance has applications relevant to drug discovery,lab-on-chip devices,and tissue engineering.

The oxidation behaviour of 10%, 30%, and 50% cold rolled and unprocessed 9Cr 1Mo ferritic steels in air have been studied under isothermal conditions at a temperature of 900°C in a cyclic manner. Oxidation kinetics was established for all samples on which experiment was conducted in air at 900°C under cyclic conditions for 50 cycles by thermogravimetric technique. Each cycle consisted of 1 hour heating at 900°C followed by 20 min of cooling in air. 10% cold rolled sample followed parabolic rate of oxidation while 30% cold rolled sample showed accelerated rate of weight gain. X-ray diffraction (XRd) and scanning electron microscopy/energy dispersive X-ray (SEM/EdAX) techniques were used to characterise the oxidized sample and their scales. 10% cold rolled steel was found to be more corrosion resistance than other in air oxidation for 50 cycles.

Rapid Magnetic 3d Printing of Cellular Structures with MCF-7 Cell Inks
