The impact of central and obstructive respiratory events on cerebral oxygenation in adults with sleep disordered breathing

Obstructive sleep apnea(OSA)and central sleep apnea(CSA)are two main types of sleep disordered breathing(SDB).While the changes in cerebral hemodynamics triggered by OSA events have been well studied using near-infrared spectroscopy(NIRS),they are essentially unknown in CSA in ***,in this study,we compared the changes in cerebral oxygenation between OSA and CSA events in adult patients using *** tissue oxygen saturation(StO_(2))in 13 severe SDB patients who had both CSA and OSA events was measured using frequency-domain *** changes in cerebral StO_(2)desaturation and blood volume(BV)in the¯rst hour of natural sleep were compared between different types of respiratory events(i.e.,277 sleep hypopneas,161 OSAs and 113 CSAs)with linear mixed-effect models controlling for *** respiratory events occurred during non-rapid eye movement(NREM)*** found that apnea events induced greater cerebral desaturations and BV°uctuations compared to hypopneas,but there was no difference between OSA and *** results suggest that cerebral autoregulation in our patients are still capable to counteract the pathomechanisms of apneas,in particularly the negative intrathoracic pressure(ITP)caused by OSA *** larger BV°uctuations in OSA compared to CSA should be observed due to the negative ITP that reduces cardiac stroke volume and leads to lower systematic blood *** study suggests that OSA and CSA may have similar impact on cerebral oxygenation during NREM sleep in adult patients with SDB.

Cyclic posets and triangulation clusters

Triangulated categories coming from cyclic posets were originally introduced by the authors in a previous paper as a generalization of the constructions of various triangulated categories with cluster *** give an overview, and then analyze "triangulation clusters" which are those corresponding to topological triangulations of the 2-disk. Locally finite nontriangulation clusters give topological triangulations of the "cactus space" associated to the "cactus cyclic poset".

The job of a translator is not an easy one. Very often, when translating from one language to another, the translator is faced with a lot of difficulties. The difficulties arise from the non-parallel structures of different languages, but there are other reasons, too. Although the translator is, in most cases, familiar with the grammar and syntax of the source-language, the problems arise when it comes to words. New words are produced every day in many different ways. Some of these new coinages acquire the status of the regular words of the English vocabulary, but some disappear with the changing of the situation for which they were invented. Very often, these new words are highly imaginative and clever products, but the problem for the translator is how to translate them. Is it possible to find an equivalent in the Serbian language for every newly invented word？ Is it possible to translate word for word？ And what is the role of a translator in that process？

Tubulovillous adenoma of anal canal: A case report

Tumors arising from the anal canal are usually of epithelial origin and are mostly squamous cell carcinoma or basal cell carcinoma. We present a case of benign anal adenomas arising from the anus, an extremely rare diagnosis. A 78-year-old white man presented with rectal bleeding of several months duration. Examination revealed a 4 cm friable mass attached to the anus by a stalk. At surgery, the mass was grasped with a Babcock forceps and was resected using electrocautery. Microscopic examination revealed a tubulovillus adenoma with no areas of high grade dysplasia or malignant transformation. The squamocolumnar junction was visible at the edges of the lesion confirming the anal origin of the tumor. We believe the tubulovillus adenoma arose from either an anal gland or its duct that opens into the anus. Although seen rarely, it is important to recognize and treat these tumors at an early stage because of their potential to transform into adenocarcinoma.

Pancreatitis is a well-described complication of human immunodeficiency virus(hIV)itself and its comhinalion antiretroviral ***,this has been predominantly associated with the usage of nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors such as didanosine and *** only rarely with the usage of protease inhibitors via the induction of *** rales in hIV/AIDS population may have been exceedingly high because of the comorbid conditions prevalent in hIV/AIDS patients(*** use and biliary disease),and the use of noncombinalion antiretroviral therapy medications such as pentamidine,corticosteroids,***,metronidazole,isoniazid and opportunistic infections(***,*** disease).In resource limited settings,where didanosine and stavudine are widely available in cheaper generic lived dose combinations it is likelv that their usage will remain in the first line hIV treatment in *** such settings management or estimation of a patient's risk of pancreatitis still remains an issue of concern.

The Diagenesis of Plant Lipids during the Formation of the Krepoljin Coal Basin(Serbia)—Using Multivariate Statistical Analysis in the Saturated Biomarkers

The composition of the saturated hydrocarbon fraction of soluble organic matter （bitumen） from the Krepoljin brown coal basin （East Serbia） of Miocene age was investigated. The Krepoljin basin is especially interesting from a geochemical point of view. Namely, by the end of Tertiary Period, the basin was covered by powerful Mesozoic formations of great possibilities, the bedding became hermetically enclosed and protected from subsequent external influences. The nature of early diagenetic processes in the environment with abundant accumulation of organic substance is defined by the molecular content of bitumen through the connections of molecular structures to potential precursors in paleoplant phylla, as well as by the degree of their diagenetic transformations. The hierarchy of parameters based on molecules of saturated hydrocarbons was determined by applying the principal component analysis to the soluble organic matter. The most significant, most ＂loadings＂ values of component CI, are the plant types such as precursors or participants in early diagenetic transformations of steranes Cs27-algal precursor material, Cs28-moulds, Cs29-higher land and water plants; resinous from the group of higher plant gymnosperms （G）; also triterpanes a and β-amirindicotyledonous angiosperms （A） and bacterial and/or terrestrial plants population represented by hopanes/moretanes; as well as the parameters which describe the degree of diagenetic/maturation transformation of precursor biomass, and based on next reactions：（1） shifting of methyl group, influenced by the inorganic sediment constitutents, sterane-rearranged steranes, （2） isomerization in the ring system, ααα→βββ C29 sterane as well as （3） isomerization on chiral center of the side chain sequence R→S C29 sterane S/（S＋R）. Additionally, a pyrite-derived inhibitory effect on the rearrangment of C29 steranes must be taken into account, but not on triterpanes reaction. Pyrite Formation in Organic-rich Clay, Calcitic and Coal-Forming Environments

The early diagenetic characteristics of pyrite formation processes in a Miocene freshwater sequence of mixed sediments （coal fragments in clays, sandstones or shales） alternating with continuous brown coal layers was investigated. Based on abundant minerals, the following main sedimentary environments were distinguished： the illite-montmorillonitic （I-M）, calcitic （Ct） and coal-forming environment （CL）. For these hydrogeochemically differing environments the effects of limiting factors on the pyrite formation process （availability of sulphate and Fe, amount of organic matter and participation of organic sulphur） were assessed by correlation analysis. Significant differences in the effects of these limiting factors in the particular environments were observed. These differences were explained taking in account the different oxidative activity, Fe-complex and surface complex forming properties of humic substances in dependence of ph of environment and the abundance of sorptionally active clay minerals. In environments having a relatively low ph and containing clay minerals （I-M- and CL-environments） the oxidative activity of humic substances （hs） on pyrite precursors was greatly prevented however pyrite formation depended on reactive Fe availability as the consequence of complex formation. On the contrary, in environments with a relatively high ph, as it was the calcitic, the oxidative activity of hs was greatly enhanced, thus oxidizing the sulfur precursors of pyrite. The oxidation degree of organic matter was probably also a consequence of the differing activity of the humic electron-acceptors.

Gastric carcinoid in a patient infected with helicobacter pylori:A new entity?

There are four types of gastric carcinoid tumors, classified according to their histology and malignant potential. Only a few cases of carcinoid tumors in patients infected with helicobacter pylori （h. pylor/） have been reported so far. We report a patient infected with h. pylori presenting with a small solitary gastric carcinoid tumor with very low proliferative rate and normal gas- trin levels. The tumor was endoscopically removed and the patient received an eradication therapy against h. pylori. No signs of metastatic disease have been found so far during more than 3 year of follow-up. Infection with h. pylori may cause chronic gastritis with normal or elevated gastrin levels, leading to the develop- ment of gastric carcinoids by mechanisms unrelated to gastrin. Enterochromaffin-like cell tumors related to a chronic h. pylori infection may be considered as a distinct type of gastric carcinoid tumors.

The macroeconomic effects of COVID‑19 in Montenegro: a Bayesian VARX approach
