The significance and diagnostic value of semen analysis in chronic bacterial prostatitis has been extensively debated and remains controversial. To investigate the diagnostic relevance of semen culture in the bacteriological workup of prostatitis patients, we retrospectively analyzed a clinical database of 696 symptomatic patients. All patients were routinely subjected to a four-glass test, followed by semen culture and analysis. This allowed to dissect from the database three different diagnostic scenarios, and to compare the ＇two-glass＇ pre-/post- massage test and the standard ＇four-glass＇ test with a ＇five-glass＇ test （four-glass plus post-VB3 semen culture）. The ＇five-glass＇ test showed 3.6- or 6.5-fold increases in relative sensitivity and lesser reductions （-13.2% or -14.7%） in relative specificity for traditional uropathogens （TUs） compared with the four-glass or two-glass test, respectively. The area under the ROC curve and Jouden＇s index were increased, whereas positive and negative likelihood ratios were lower than comparators, indicating that the ＇five-glass＇ assay may be superior in confirming the negative outcome of both standard tests. The five-, four-, and two-glass tests detected TUs （Enterobacteriaceae, Enterococci, etc.） in 120, 33, and 20 patients and unusual pathogens （Streptococci, other Gram-positive species, Mycoplasmata, and others） in 130, 56, and 45 patients, respectively. When patients were subjected to pharmacological treatment, including a combination of a fluoroquinolone and a macrolide, no differences in eradication rates were observed between groups diagnosed with different tests, irrespective of pathogen category. Eradication was associated with long-term sign/symptom remission; no significant intergroup differences in sign/symptom scores were observed throughout a 24-month off-therapy follow-up period. We here present an ongoing research project about an integrated real time mobility assistant, which has been developed for the call “Personal Integrated Mobility” of the EU framework program. The assistant is aimed to support personal mobility in a near future scenario, where green, shared or public transports are replacing the current private, carbon transportation system. The assistant handles itineraries, which are based on goals of time, energy/pollution and cost, and supports users both before and during the trip. The service will gather and interpret any relevant source of information on transport resources and their availability. Information includes user generated content and social data. Given the globalization of users and the hourly peaks of mobility, the assistant is a cloud service, which integrates existing technologies;however a global extension requires a federation of clouds and, above all, the interpretation and validation of social data. These can be considered major research challenges.

AIM To show imaging results from application of fourdimensional(4D) ultrasound lightening technique(HDlive^(TM)) in clinical obstetrics practice. METHODS Normal and abnormal fetuses at second and third trimester of pregnancy undergoing routine scan with 4D HDlive^(TM)(5DUS) in the rendering mode are described. Realistic features of fetal structures were provided by 5DUS in the rendering mode. Normal anatomy as well as pathology like cleft lip, hypoplastic face, micrognathia, low-set ears, corpus callosum, arthrogryposis, aortic arch, left congenital diaphragmatic hernia are highlighted in this study. Anatomical details of the fetuses were provided by 5DUS with higher quality imaging modality compared to those obtained using conventional 2D/3D ultrasound. RESULTS Realistic views of fetal anatomy details were displayed by means of 5DUS in the rendering mode, with high image quality obtained either in low-risk or in high-risk obstetrics population. Corpus callosum, esophagus, and aortic arch were obtained in normal fetuses. Cleft lip, cleft lip and palate, micrognathia, hypoplastic face, lowset ears, arthrogryposis, left congenital diaphragmatic hernia, exomphalos, and clitoris hypertrophy were clearly rendered by 5DUS *** The use of 5DUS in the rendering mode, when clinical available, was diagnostic in a variety of congenital anomalies, aided understanding of the parents-tobe and improved prenatal counseling and perinatal management.

Effect of the ozonated oil in liposomes: they act against Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa is among the most frequent eye pathogens and causes acute and chronic infections of the ocular surface. Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa were tested in this study. The bacterial suspension of Staphylococcus aureus was diluted to obtain 150 CFU/ml. The bacterial suspension of Pseudomonas aeruginosa was diluted to obtain 15 CFU/ml. Various volumes of liposome-vehiculated ozonated oil were added (400 μl, 200 μl, 100 μl and 50 μl) to 100 μl of bacterial suspension;both of Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa are incubated at 37?C for 10 minutes. The cytotoxicity of liposome-vehiculated ozonated oil was analysed at the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”, Department of Precision Medicine. The HaCaT epidermal keratinocyte cell line (ATCC, USA) was grown in Dulbecco’s Modified Eagle Medium (Euroclone) with the addition of 10% foetal bovine serum (FBS) (Euroclone), 2 mM of L-glutamine (Euroclone) and antibiotics (100 U/ml penicillin, 100 g/ml streptomycin) (Euroclone). The microbiological results clearly show the antimicrobial efficacy of liposome-vehiculated ozonated oil against bacterial strains such as Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Furthermore, the studies carried out in vitro on the keratinocyte line showed how ozonated oil in liposomes does not evidence any cell toxicity, and that after 3 days of treatment, it promotes cell growth compared to the positive control.
