A non-isolated high gain step-up DC-DC converter for low power applications is suggested in this *** the designed transformerless converter,the main switch current and voltage stress is reduced while maintaining high voltage *** instance,with a duty cycle of 0.5 a voltage gain equal to 5 is achieved while the normalized switch voltage stress is ***,it decreases power losses of active and passive *** the proposed converter design,the switched-capacitor(SC)technique is used to obtain maximum voltage transfer gain using only one *** three modes of operation,i.e.,continuous conduction mode(CCM),boundary conduction mode(bCM),and discontinuous conduction mode(DCM),are studied in *** small signal analysis(SSA)of the designed converter is investigated,and its steady-state model is examined under *** of the proposed converter proposed in this study is assessed and tested using a *** of the converter is recorded above 94%in a wide range of output ***,compared to the other converters,the results suggest satisfactory performance of the designed *** issue of the proposed converter is that its input current is not smooth due to using the switched-capacitor cell in its *** issue is alleviated by using input filters.

In this paper,a particular standard MicroGrid(MG)is accurately simulated in the presence of the Electric Vehicles(EVs)participating in decentralized primary frequency control *** examines effect of number of the participating EVs on the short-term dynamic *** simulation results confirm that frequency deviation will not definitely become zero even though an unlimited number of the EVs *** output power of each EV is determined according to the frequency *** the other hand,the output power of each EV affects the value of the frequency deviation,especially in small-scale MGs and MGs with predominant inductance ***,an equilibrium point is reached after a new EV is added that depends on the characteristics of the MG and the functions executed in the MG central controller during such a ***,effect of Reflex method,an advanced charging technique for EVs,on the frequency deviation is examined.

Developing the electricity market at the distribution level can facilitate the energy transactions in distribution networks with a high penetration level of distributed energy resources(DERs)and microgrids(MGs).However,the lack of comprehensive information about the marginal production cost of competitors leads to uncertainties in the optimal bidding strategy of *** electricity demand within the network and the price in the wholesale electricity market are two other sources of the *** this paper,a day-ahead-market-based framework for managing the energy transactions among MGs and other participants in distribution networks is introduced.A game-theory-based method is presented to model the competition and determine the optimal bidding strategy of participants in the *** optimization technique is employed to capture the uncertainties in the marginal cost of ***,the uncertainties in demand are modeled using a scenario-based stochastic *** results ob-tained from case studies reveal the merit of considering competition modeling and uncertainties.

Multicell converters are an interesting alternative for medium voltage and high power applications,because of the increased number of output voltage levels and apparent *** two most significant types of multicell converter are the flying capacitor multicell (FCM) converter and its derivative,stacked multicell (SM) *** flying capacitor voltages is an important constraint to the proper performance of FCM and SM ***,observation of the flying capacitor voltages used in active control is valuable,but using voltage sensors for observation increases cost and size of the *** paper deals with a new strategy to estimate the flying capacitor voltages of both FCM and SM *** proposed strategy is based on a discrete time model of the converter and uses only a load current *** circuit was simulated using PSCAD/EMTDC software and simulation results were presented to validate the effectiveness of the proposed estimation strategy in observing the flying capacitor *** is the most significant advantage of the proposed strategy,its performance being based on simple equations.

A novel control strategy for the load converter supplying the unbalanced AC load in a DC isolated distribution system is presented. The control algorithm results in balanced and sinusoidal load voltages under unbalanced AC loading. The unbalanced load is characterized in the d-q-0 rotating coordinate based on symmetrical sequence components. Also, the mathematical model of the load converter in both a-b-c and d-q-0 coordinates is derived by using the average large signal model. Then, two control strategies for the load converter are presented. The first one uses the conventional d-q-0 controller to ensure the voltage and current regulation. The second one is a newly proposed control strategy based on the decomposition of the voltage and current into in-stantaneous positive, negative, and zero sequences. These three sequences are controlled independently in their own reference frames as DC signals. The performance of the load converter using these two control strategies is compared. Simulation results show the validity and capability of the newly proposed control strategy.

We propose a novel series transformer based diode-bridge-type solid state fault current limiter （SSFCL）. To control the fault current, a series RLC branch is connected to the secondary side of an isolation series transformer. based on this RLC branch, two current limiting modes are created. In the first mode, R and C are bypassed via a paralleled power electronic switch （insulated-gate bipolar transistor, IGbT） and L remains connected to the secondary side of the transformer as a DC reactor. In the second mode, the series reactor impedance is not enough to limit the fault current. In this case, the fault current can be con- trolled by selecting a proper on-off duration of the parallel IGbT, across the series damping resistor （R） and capacitor, which inserts high impedance into the line to limit the fault current. Then, by controlling the magnitude of the DC reactor current, the fault current is reduced and the voltage of the point of common coupling （PCC） is kept at an acceptable level. In addition, in the new SSFCL, the series RC branch, connected in parallel with the IGbT, serves as a snubber circuit for decreasing the transient recovery voltage （TRV） of the IGbT during on-off states. Therefore, the power quality indices can be improved. The measure- ment results of a built prototype are presented to support the simulation and theoretical studies. The proposed SSFCL can limit the fault current without any delay and successfully smooth the fault current waveform.
