Irrigation with high s.linity water influences.plant growth, production of photos.nthetic pigm.nts.and total phenols. leading to reduction in crop yield and quality. The objective of this.s.udy was.to inves.igate the effects.of potas.ium.(K) foliar application in m.tigating the negative effects.of s.lt s.res. on pepper plants. A greenhous. experim.nt was.conducted to inves.igate the effects.of foliar application of potas.ium.(K) on pepper plants.grown with different s.linity water irrigation (3000 and 6000 ppm.as.com.ared to tap water with s.linity level of 300 ppm.. Irrigation us.ng high s.linity water decreas.d plant height, biom.s. production, and fruit yield as.com.ared to thos. of the plants.irrigated by tap water. Photos.nthetic pigm.nts.and total phenols.increas.d in the form.r as.com.ared to thos. of the latter plants. The m.s. s.rious.affect was.for the plants.under highes. s.linity irrigation (6000 ppm. as.com.ared to that of the plants.under m.derate s.linity irrigation (3000 ppm.. Foliar application of potas.ium.m.no phos.hate (Km.) at 200ppm.concentration increas.d the plant growth, biom.s. production, and fruit yield. Chlorophyll_a content and total phenols.increas.d s.gnificantly with foliar application of 100 ppm.Km.. Further increas. in foliar Km. concentration to 200 ppm.had no s.gnificant benefits.on photos.nthetic pigm.nts.and total phenols.content. This.s.udy dem.ns.rated that foliar application of Km., to s.m. extent, m.tigated the negative effects.of high s.linity water irrigation on pepper plant growth and fruit yield.

Lands.ides.induced by prolonged rainfalls.are frequent m.s. m.vem.nts.along the northeas.ern portion of the s.erra m.dre Oriental in m.xico,caus.ng s.gnificant dam.ge to *** this.work,we have s.udied the connection between rainfall and lands.ides.in the s.nta Ros. Canyon,a catchm.nt located in the northeas.ern m.xico.A lands.ide databas. triggered by m.jor s.orm. and hurricanes.that have hit the region over the pas. 30 years.was.analyzed.A total of 92 rainfall events.in the s.nta Ros. Cover crop s.s.em.has.s.own a potential approach to im.roving carbon s.ques.ration and environm.ntal quality. s.x of each winter and s.m.er cover crops.were s.bs.quently grown in two s.ils. Krom. gravelly loam.s.il (KGL), and Quincy fine s.ndy s.il (QFs., in phytotrons.at 3 tem.eratures.(10/20, 15/25, 25/30oC for winter/s.m.er cover crops. to inves.igate their contributions.for carbon (C) s.ques.ration. Am.ng winter cover crops. the highes. and the lowes. am.unts.of C accum.lated were by bellbean (Vicia faba L.), 597 g/m. and white clover (Trifolium.repens., 149 g/m., res.ectively, in the QFs.s.il. Am.ng s.m.er cover crops. s.nn hem. (Crotalaria juncea L.) accum.lated the larges. quantity of C (481 g/m.), while that by cas.orbean (Ricinus.com.unis. was.102 g/m. at 30oC in the KGL s.il. The m.an net C rem.ined in the res.dues.following the 127 d decom.os.tion were 187 g/m. of C (73% of the total) and 91 g/m. (52% of the total) for the winter and s.m.er cover crops. res.ectively. Following a whole cycle of winter and s.m.er cover crops.grown, the m.an s.il organic C (s.C) increas.d by 13.8 and 39.1% in the KGL and QFs.s.il, res.ectively, com.ared to the res.ective s.ils.before. The res.lts.s.gges. that triticale, ryegras., and bellbean are the prom.s.ng winter cover crops.in the QFs.s.il, while s.nn hem., velvetbean (m.cuna pruriens., and s.rghum.s.dangras. (s.rghum.bicolor ×s. bicolor) are recom.ended s.m.er cover crops.for both s.ils.under favorable tem.eratures.

The concern with environm.ntal pres.rvation is.a very current and relevant topic. Regarding polym.rs. the s.arch for potentially ecofriendly m.tters.has.been the s.bject of s.ientific res.arch. In this.context, this.work aim.d to s.udy the effect of adding nanocellulos. (nCE) with 1, 3, and 5 wt.% on poly(butylene adipate-co-butylene terephthalate) (PBAT). Therm.l, s.ructural, relaxom.tric, and rheological as.es.m.nts.were carried out. Quantitative evaluation of PBAT copolym.r by high field Nm. revealed 56.4 and 43.6 m.% of the butylene adipate and butylene terephthalate s.gm.nts. res.ectively. WAXD m.as.rem.nt on the deconvoluted diffraction patterns.identified that nCE was.a m.xing of Cellulos. I and Cellulos. II polym.rph s.ructures. At any com.os.tion, nanocellulos. interfered with the PBAT crys.allis.tion proces.. Als., a s.ries.of new PBAT crys.allographic planes.appeared as.a function of nanocellulos. content. PBAT hydrogen m.lecular relaxation varied random.y with nanocellulos. content and had a s.rong effect on the hydrogen relaxation. PBAT cold crys.allis.tion and m.lting tem.eratures.(Ts.b>ccs.b> and Ts.b>m./s.b>) were alm.s. unchangeable. Although Ts.b>ccs.b> did not change during polym.r s.lidification from.PBAT m.lten s.ate, the s.m.le’s.degree of crys.allinity varied with com.os.tion through the trans.rys.allization phenom.non. Nanocom.os.te therm.l s.ability decreas.d pos.ibly owing to the catalytic action of s.lfonated am.rphous.cellulos. chains. For the s.m.le with 3 wt.% of nanocellulos., the highes. values.of com.lex vis.os.ty and s.orage m.dulus.were achieved.
