BAcKGROUND Major depressive disorder(MDD)is a global health issue that affects 350 million people of all *** between 2%and 5.6%of affected individuals are adolescents,research on young patients is *** inflammatory response contributes to the onset of depression,and in adult MDD patients,symptom severity has been linked to chemokine *** To determine the differences in circulatory levels of chemokines in healthy volunteers(HVs)and adolescents with MDD,and assess the changes induced by fluoxetine *** The 22 adolescents with MDD were monitored during the first 8 wk of clinical follow-up and clinical psychiatric evaluation was done using the Hamilton depresión rating scale(HDRs).The serum levels of monocyte chemoattractant protein-1(McP-1),macrophage inflammatory protein(MIP)-1α,MIP-1β,interleukin(IL)-8,interferon gamma-induced protein(IP)-10,and eotaxin were measured in patients and *** In all cases,significant differences were detected in circulating chemokine levels between patients before treatment and HVs(Pchemokines decreased at 4 wk,but only McP-1 and IL-8 significantly differed(Ps,all chemokines rose to their initial concentrations by 8 wk vs 0 wk,but only IP-10 did so significantly(Ps experienced a significant decrease in HDRs scores at 4 wk(Pcompared with 0 *** Despite the consumption of fluoxetine,patients had significantly higher chemokine levels,even after considering the improvement in HDRs *** high levels of eotaxin,IP-10,and IL-8 partially explain certain aspects that are affected in MDD such as cognition,memory,and learning.

Background:Early severity estimates of coronavirus disease 2019(cOVID-19)are critically needed to assess the potential impact of the on going pandemic in differe nt demographic *** we estimate the real-time delayadjusted case fatality rate across nine age groups by gender in chile,the country with the highest testing rate for cOVID-19 in Latin ***:We used a publicly available real-time daily series of age-stratified cOVID-19 cases and deaths reported by the Ministry of Health in chile from the beginning of the epidemic in March through August 31,*** used a robust likelihood function and a delay distribution to estimate real-time delay-adjusted case-fatality risk and estimate model parameters using a Monte carlo Markov chain in a Bayesian framework.

Plant Response and Grape composition of Vitis vinifera L, cv Tannat in Different climatic Regions

In wine production, the typical characteristics of variety, defined by its place of their origin, contribute to the development of distinctive and unique wines. In the current study, we analyzed the effect of the environment using vine response and grape composition as indicators. Four cv. Tannat vineyards in three different climatic regions of Uruguay with similar soil conditions were studied in 2008 and 2009. Vines grafted onto sO4 （Vitis berlandieri × Vitis riparia） rootstock and were trained on a trellis system. Weather information was obtained from weather stations （MMO standards）. At each vineyard, we recorded： yield per plant, pruning weight, leaf area and pre-dawn leaf water potential. We analyzed sugars, total acidity and pH, polyphenolic potential, organic acids and berry weight. Analysis of variance, Pearson correlations and discriminant analysis were carried out. The climate factors with the highest discriminant weight were water balance, degree days （〉 10 ℃） of maturation and rainfall during the vegetative growth period. Plant response allowed us to discriminate between vineyards regardless of the year and was consistent with climate. Exposed leaf area and length of maturation period were the indexes with the highest values, followed by leaf water potential and grape yield. The total anthocyanin content, sugar contents and their daily accumulation, and acid composition statistically separate regions regardless of the year. We concluded that plant response and grape composition were strongly influenced by water supply and thermal conditions during ripening.

calciphylaxis is a serious disorder that presents itself as ischemia and ne-crosis of the skin which occurs more frequently in patients with an end-stage chronic kidney disease, but not exclusively. The pathogenesis is a result of the reduction of arteriolar blood flow, caused by calcification, fibrosis, and thrombus formation that primarily involve the arterioles of the dermis and hypodermis, with a poor prognosis. case presentation: A 44-year-old patient with a previous diagnosis of chronic kidney disease receiving hemodialysis secondary to polycystic kidney disease, with a history of parathyroidectomy due to primary hyperparathyroidism in 2011. In 2014 the patient presented skin lesions, for which a diagnostic biopsy of calciphylaxis was performed and began treatment with sodium thiosulfate with a poor progression and evolution. New histology compatible with the diagnosis of pyoderma gangrenosum and findings of calciphylaxis were performed. The patient begins treatment with corticosteroids and cyclosporine, with poor clinical evolution and the patient eventually passes away. The objective of this manuscript is to understand this pathology better, which is infrequent but with a high rate of morbidity and mortality.

In this paper, the corrosion of steel pipelines transporting hydrocarbon condensed products was studied. Different activities of sampling and analysis were carried out to diagnose the failure causes and to establish a control system for the corrosion problem. The combination of three types of corrosion, including erosion corrosion, galvanic corrosion and microbiologically induced corrosion, was synthetically considered. A serial of experiments were designed to research those types of corrosion. This type of failure was observed in characteristics sites of the pipeline, mainly in direction changes and welding joints. Additionally, localized corrosion was observed in the inner steel wall and distributed along the pipeline, although a tendency was not detected.

Multiple-Organ Extracorporeal support Therapies in critically Ill Patients

The critically ill patient is capable of presenting a multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODs) caused by different diseases, which can be infectious (sepsis, septic shock) as well as non-infectious (pancreatitis, large surgeries, traumatic injuries, burn patients and brain injuries), this syndrome is characterized by global hemodynamic and organ perfusion alterations accompanied by an uncontrolled and marked inflammatory response unresponsive to pharmacological treatment due to which extracorporeal organ support can be a viable option. Acute renal lesion can occur in up to 60% of patients receiving intensive care, and close to 10% - 20% require renal replacement therapy (RRT) globally this can be provided as peritoneal dialysis (PD) or intermittent hemodialysis (IHD), continuous renal replacement therapy (cRRT), hybrid therapies known as sustained slow efficiency dialysis (sLED), which combines the benefits IHD and cRRT, slow continuous ultrafiltration (scUF). Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (EcMO) and extracorporeal elimination of cOsub>2sub>, have been used more frequently lately, these are temporal artificial support used for respiratory and/or cardiac insufficiency that is refractory to conventional treatment. Acute liver failure in adults has a mortality rate close to 50% furthermore one-third of patients hospitalized for cirrhosis are likely to progress to acute liver failure which will drastically increase its mortality. Based on concepts of albumin dialysis, one of its most known is the following: Molecular Adsorbent Recirculating system (MARs), Fractionated Plasma separation and Absorption—FPsA (Prometheussup>®sup>) and also, hemoperfusion with different cartridges used in different extracorporeal therapies, used in liver failure, rhabdomyolysis, cytokine release syndrome and more in the context of the pandemic covid19. safety and Efficacy of Oral Mirodenafil in Mexican with Erectile Dysfunction

Erectile dysfunction is treated with 5-phospodiesterase inhibitors as Mirodenafil, which has shown its efficacy and safety in Koreans, however;no information in other populations is available. An open clinical trial study was designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety in real life of a fixed-dose of Mirodenafil in Mexican patients with erectile dysfunction. Forty-seven male patients received a 100 mg tablet of Mirodenafil, during 12 weeks. Primary outcome efficacy measure was the percentage of male patients with successful intercourse. secondary outcomes measures included patient satisfaction, mood and self-esteem level. safety assessments included laboratory tests, vital signs, physical examination, 12-lead electrocardiogram recordings, and incidence of adverse events by patients. Oral administration of Mirodenafil improved in an 80% - 90% the number of successful intercourses from 7 to 84 days of treatment. Moreover, patients reported a significant increment in their sexual satisfaction, mood and self-esteem. Mirodenafil treatment did not modify vital signs nor anthropometric parameters during 84 days. Mild headache was the most frequent adverse event (17.0%) and there were no severe adverse events during pharmacological treatment. Data suggest that oral Mirodenafil is safety, well tolerated and effective in the Mexican population with erectile dysfunction.

systemic lupus erythematosus is an autoimmune disease with an etiopathogenesis that is still unclear. With a higher incidence in women of childbearing age. Pregnancy in patients suffering from this pathology is a constant challenge for multidisciplinary teams. The changes of pregnancy, especially to the immune system and the kidney, have repercussions on the renal compromise secondary to lupus. Lupus nephropathy is more active during pregnancy and leads to adverse outcomes for the mother-fetus binomial. The early identification of pregnant women with a higher risk of complications, access to health resources and the participation of a multidisciplinary team is the strategy that increases maternal-fetal survival. A report case of a 25-year-old black female with sLE and a 10-week pregnancy who was admitted to the emergency department with criteria for dialysis. The literature focused on lupus nephritis and dialysis in pregnancy was reviewed. Articles were reviewed in databases such as PubMed, cochrane, among others, focused on the topic of pregnancy with sLE and pregnancy with dialysis. A total of 15 review articles, 2 meta-analyses, 3 observational studies and 6 cohort studies (3 prospective and 3 retrospective) were filtered.

The Potentiality of Non Timber Forest Products. Fruit Availability, Phytochemical Properties of Rosa rubiginosa L. Rose Hips

We evaluated fruit availability, phytochemical characteristics and mineral content of R. rubiginosa L. rose hips, at two experimental sites in san Luis province: Potrero de los Funes-El Volcán (PF-V) and Estancia Grande (EG). Plant density was 70 plants/ha (1 ha = 10,000 msup>2sup>) in PF-V and 50 plants/ha in EG. Fruit availability (Dsub>Fsub>) in fresh fruits (FF) was 4.39 kg (PF-V) and 3.10 kg (EG) during March, and decreased during June. Ascorbic acid in FF increased during ripening period, peaking on late April, early May, and diminished 75% - 85% in dried fruits. Total soluble solids in FF ranged from 32.55 to 55.20 °Brix. Elements Ba, ca, Fe, K, Zn and cu, determined by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (IcP-OEs), were significant for human health. Dried fruits maintain a high level of ascorbic acid, a characteristic added to content of mineral elements, particularly calcium content, providing an important nutritional value to R. rubiginosa rose hips.
