DNA Barcoding of Insects and Its Direct Application for Plant Protection

The introduction of invasive insect pests across national borders has become a major concern in crop production. Accordingly. national plant protection organizations are challenge to reinforce their monitoring strategies, which are hampered by.the weight and size of inspection equipment, as well as the taxonomic extensiveness of interrupted species. Moreover, some insect pests that impede farmer productivity.and profitability.are difficult for researchers to address on time due to a lack of appropriate plant protection measures. Farmers’ reliance on sy.thetic pesticides and biocontrol agents has resulted in major economic and environmental ramifications. DNA barcoding is a novel technology.that has the potential to improve Integrated Pest Management decision-making, which is dependent on the ability.to correctly.identify.pest and beneficial organisms. This is due to some natural traits such as phenology.or pesticide susceptibility.browbeaten by.IPM strategies to avert pest establishment. Specifically. Deoxy.ibonucleic acid (DNA) sequence information was applied effectively.for the identification of some micro-organisms. This technology. DNA barcoding, allows for the identification of insect species by.using short, standardized gene sequences. DNA barcoding is basically.based on repeatable and accessible technique that allows for the mechanisation or automation of species discrimination. This technique bridges the taxonomic bio-security.gap and meets the International Plant Protection Convention diagnostic standards for insect identification. This review therefore discusses DNA barcoding as a technique for insect pests’ identification and its potential application for crop protection.

Bulk geochemistry.Sr,Nd,and O-H isotope sy.tematics are reported for the first time on banded iron formation(BIF)-hosted high-grade iron ore at the northwestern segment of Congo Craton(CC).Located in Mbalam iron ore district,Southern Cameroon,Metzimevin iron ore deposit is a hematite-magnetite BIF sy.tem,dominated by.SiO_(2)+Fe_(2)O_(3)(97.1 to 99.84 wt%),with low concentrations of clastic elements e.g.,Al_(2)O_(3),TiO_(2),and HFSE,depicting a nearly.pure chemical *** REE+y.signature of the iron deposit display. strong positive Eu anomaly.strong negative Ce anomaly.and chondritic to superchondritic y.Ho ratios,suggestive of formation by.mixed seawater-high temperature hy.rothermal fluids in oxidising ***^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr ratios of the BIF are higher than the maximum^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr evolution curves for all Archean reservoirs(bulk silicate earth,Archean crust and Archean seawater),indicating involvement of continentally.derived components during BIF formation and ***Ɛ_(Nd)(t)(+2.26 to+3.77)and Nd model age indicate that chemical constituents for the BIF were derived from undifferentiated crustal source,between 3.002 and 2.88 *** variable and diverse O and H isotope data(−1.9‰to 17.3‰and−57‰to 136‰respectively.indicate that the Metzimevin iron ore formed initially.from magmatic plumes and later enriched by.magmatic-metamorphic-modified meteoric *** balance calculations indicate mineralisation by.combined leaching and precipitation,with an average iron enrichment factor of>2.67 and SiO_(2)depletion factor of>*** is associated with an overall volume reduction of 28.27%,reflecting net leaching and volume collapse of the BIF protholith.

The metal cutting process is accompanied by.complex stress field,strain field,temperature *** comprehensive effects of process parameters on chip morphology.cutting force,tool wear and residual stress are complex and *** element method(FEM)is considered as an effective method to predict process variables and reveal microscopic phy.ical phenomena in the cutting ***,the finite element(FE)simulation is used to research the conventional and micro scale cutting process,and the differences in the establishment of process variable FE simulation models are distinguished,thereby.improving the accuracy.of FE *** reliability.and effectiveness of FE simulation model largely.depend on the accuracy.of the simulation method,constitutive model,friction model,damage model in describing mesh element,the dy.amic mechanical behavior of materials,the tool-chip-workpiece contact process and the chip formation *** this paper,the FE models of conventional and micro process variables are comprehensively.and up-to-date reviewed for different materials and machining *** purpose is to establish a FE model that is more in line with the real cutting conditions,and to provide the possibility.for optimizing the cutting process *** development direction of FE simulation of metal cutting process is discussed,which provides guidance for future cutting process modeling.

Chicken is an important food animal worldwide and play. an important role in human life by.providing meat and *** recent significant advances in gut microbiome studies,a comprehensive study.of chicken gut bacterial,archaeal,and viral genomes remains *** this study.we constructed a chicken multi-kingdom microbiome catalog(CMKMC),including 18,201 bacterial,225 archaeal,and 33,411 viral genomes,and annotated over 6,076,006 protein-coding genes by.integrating 135 chicken gut metagenomes and publicly.available metagenome-assembled genomes(MAGs)from ten *** found that 812 and 240 MAGs in our dataset were putative novel species and genera,respectively.far bey.nd what was previously.*** newly.unclassified MAGs were predominant in Phy.a Firmicutes_A(n=263),followed by.Firmicutes(n=126),Bacteroidota(n=121),and Proteobacteria(n=87).Most of the classified species-level viral oper-ational taxonomic units belong to ***,63.24%of chicken gut viromes are predicted to infect two or more hosts,including complete circular ***,we found that diverse auxiliary.metabolic genes and antibiotic resistance genes were carried by.***,our CMKMC provides the largest integrated MAGs and viral genomes from the chicken gut to date,functional insights into the chicken gastrointestinal tract microbiota,and paves the way.for microbial interventions for better chicken health and productivity.

Persistently.Rising Alpha-fetoprotein in the Diagnosis of Hepatocellular Carcinoma:A Review

Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC),one of the most common malignant tumors worldwide,is known for its grim prognosis,with untreated life expectancy.being only.a matter of months after the *** difficulty.in making a diagnosis early.is one of the main contributing factors to the poor ***-fetoprotein(AFP)had long been used as a surveillance tool,but suboptimal specificity.and sensitivity.has prompted liver societies to abandon the recommendation for its universal use,even in combination with *** studies have shown no obvious correlation between serum AFP level and HCC tumor size,stage,or survival ***,some studies concluded that a gradual rise or persistent elevation in AFP were positive predictors for tumor *** studies reported a fall in AFP followed by.a rise in patients with HCC as well as persistently.rising AFP levels without development of HCC on follow *** calculation of the sensitivity.and specificity.of persistently.rising AFP for HCC were both low,at 60%and 35.8%,respectively.indicating that the presence of persistently.rising AFP per se did not offer diagnostic *** addition,our calculated mean slopes of persistently.rising AFP levels in HCC and non-HCC patients were numerically.very.different,but the difference was not statistically.*** conclude that the published data do not support a role for rising AFP levels per se in the diagnosis of HCC.
