Sub-surface crack networks in areas of altered microstructure are a common cause for bearing *** to its appearance under light microscopy,the damage pattern is referred to as White Etching Cracks(WEC).The root causes leading to the formation of WEC are still under ***,it has already been shown that atomic hydrogen can have an accelerating effect on the formation and propagation of *** addition to hydrogen pre-charging,hydrogen can be released and absorbed during rolling/sliding due to the decomposing of the lubricant and *** current work focuses on the analysis of the hydrogen content of cylindrical roller thrust bearings after testing in a FE8 type test rig using two different *** the framework of this work,two different hydrogen analysis methods were used and assessed regarding their *** results show that the so-called Hydrogen Collecting Analysis(HCA)is more suitable to investigate the correlation between lubricant chemistry and hydrogen content in the test bearings than the Local Hydrogen Analysis(LHA).The measurements with the HCA show a continuously increasing freely movable and diffusible hydrogen content under tribological conditions,which leads to the formation of *** tests with an oil without hydrogen showed that the tendency of the system to fail as a result of WEC can be reduced by using a lubricant without hydride compounds.

This paper starts with brief introduction to the open topic of the CFD and wing tunnel correlation study, followed by a description of the Chinese Aeronautical Establishment（CAE） –Aerodynamic Validation Model（AVM） and its wind tunnel test in the German-Dutch Wind tunnels（DNW）. The features of the aerodynamic design, the CFD approach, the wind tunnel model fabrication and the experimental techniques are discussed along with the motivation of the CAEDNW workshop on CFD-wind tunnel correlation study. The workshop objective is focused on the interference from the aero-elastic deformation of the wind tunnel model and the model support system to the aerodynamic performance and CFD validations. The four study cases, geometry and mesh preparation of the workshop are introduced. A comprehensive summary of the CFD results from the organizer and the participants is provided. Major observations, both CFD to CFD and CFD to wind tunnel, are identified and summarized. The CFD results of the participants are in good agreement with each other, and with the wind tunnel test data when the wing deformation and a Z-sting system are included in the CFD, indicating the importance of considering such interference at high subsonic Mach number of 0.85.

Arctic clouds strongly influence the regional radiation balance, temperature, melting of sea ice, and freezing of sea *** their importance, there is a lack of systematic and reliable observations of Arctic *** CloudSat satellite launched in 2006 with a 94 GHz Cloud Profiling Radar (CPR) may contribute to close this *** we compare one of the key parameters, the cloud liquid water path (LWP) retrieved from CloudSat observations and from microwave radiometer (MWR) data taken during the ASCOS (Arctic Summer Cloud Ocean Study) cruise of the research vessel Oden from August to September *** the 45 days of the ASCOS cruise, collocations closer than 3 h and 100 km were found in only 9 d, and collocations closer than 1 h and 30 km in only 2 *** poor correlations in the scatter plots of the two LWP retrievals can be explained by the patchiness of the cloud cover in these two days (August 5th and September 7th), as confirmed by coincident MODIS (Moderate-resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer) *** averages of Oden-observed LWP values are systematically higher (40-70 g m-2) than the corresponding CloudSat observations (0-50 g m-2).These are cases of generally low LWP with presumably small droplets, and may be explained by the little sensitivity of the CPR to small droplets or by the surface clutter.

The evolutionary success of arthropods, the most abundant and diverse animal group, is mainly based on their segmented body and jointed appendages, features that had evolved most likely already before the Cambrian. The first arthropod-like animals, the lobopodians from the Early Cambrian, were unsclerotized and worm-like, and they had unjointed tubular legs. Here we describe the first three-dimensionally preserved Cambrian lobopodian. The material presented of Orstenotubulus evamuellerae gen. et sp. nov. is the smallest and youngest of a lobopodian known. O. evamuellerae shows strikingly detailed similarities to Recent tardigrades and/or onychophorans in its cellular-structured cuticle and the telescopic spines. It also shows similarities to other, longer known lobopodians, but which are ten times as large as the new form. These similarities include the finely annulated body and legs, which is characteristic also for Recent onychophorans, and paired humps continuing into spines situated dorsally to the leg insertions, a feature lacking in the extant forms. The morphology of O. evamuellerae not only elucidates our knowledge about lobopodians, but also aids in a clearer picture of the early evolution of arthropods. An example is the single ventral gonopore between a limb pair of O. evamuellerae, which indicates that a single gonopore, as developed in onychophorans, tardigrades, pentastomids, myriapods and insects, might represent the plesiomorphic state for Arthropoda, while the paired state in chelicerates and crustaceans was convergently achieved. Concerning life habits, the lateral orientation of the limbs and their anchoring spines of the new lobopodian imply that early arthropods were crawlers rather than walkers.

Background： Rhythmical massage therapy（RMT） is a massage technique used in anthroposophic ***： The authors aimed to investigate the physiological action of RMT on the cardiovascular system by analysing heart rate variability（HRV）.Design, setting, participants and intervention： This study was a randomised, controlled and single-blinded trial, involving 44 healthy women（mean age：（26.20 ± 4.71） years）. The subjects were randomised to one of three arms： RMT with aromatic oil（RA）, RMT without aromatic oil（RM） or standardised sham massage（SM）. In the study the subjects were exposed to a standardised stress situation followed by one of the study techniques and Holter electrocardiograms（ECGs） were recorded for 24 *** outcome measures： HRV parameters were calculated from linear（time and frequency domain） and nonlinear dynamics（symbolic dynamics, Poincare plot analysis） of the 24-h Holter ECG ***： Short-and long-term effects of massage on autonomic regulation differed significantly among the three groups. Immediately after an RMT session, stimulation of HRV was found in the groups RA and RM. The use of an aromatic oil produced greater short-term measurable changes in HRV compared with rhythmic massage alone, but after 24 h the effect was no longer distinguishable from the RM *** lowest stimulation of HRV parameters was measured in the SM ***： RMT causes specific and marked stimulation of the autonomic nervous system. Use of a medicinal aromatic oil had only a temporary effect on HRV, indicating that the RM causes the most relevant long-term effect. The effect is relatively specific, as the physiological effects seen in the group of subjects who received only SM were considerably less pronounced.
