Conventional artificial intelligence(Al)machine vision technology,based on the von Neumann architecture,uses separate sensing,computing,and storage units to process huge amounts of vision data generated in sensory *** frequent movement of redundant data between sensors,processors and memory,however,results in high-power consumption and latency.A more efficient approach is to offload some of the memory and computational tasks to sensor elements that can perceive and process the optical signal ***,we proposed a non-volatile photomemristor,in which the reconfigurable responsivity can be modulated by the charge and/or photon flux through it and further stored in the *** non-volatile photomemristor has a simple two-terminal architecture,in which photoexcited carriers and oxygen-related ions are coupled,leading to a displaced and pinched hysteresis in the current-voltage *** the frst time,non-volatile photomemristors implement computationally complete logic with photoresponse-stateful operations,for which the same photomemristor serves as both a logic gate and memory,using photoresponse as a physical state variable instead of light,voltage and *** polarity reversal of photomemristors shows great potential for in-memory sensing and computing with feature extraction and image recognition for neuromorphic vision.

Reinvigorating the Wiener-Hopf technique in the pursuit of understanding processes and materials

The Wiener-Hopf(WH) method was created in 1931, by Norbert Wiener and Eberhard Hopf, to deliver exact solutions to integral equations with convolutiontype kernels on a half-line. It appears that this problem is closely related to that posed by Riemann in 1857 on the problem concerning the construction of a Fuchsian system of differential equations with given singular points and a prescribed monodromy group. This later became known as the 21 st Hilbert problem. The WH method is a powerful and long-standing tool that served as a catalyst in broadening the applicability of Fourier analysis, owing to the essential characteristics of analytic functions. The Study on the Differential and Integral Calculus in Pseudoeuclidean Space

In the vector space of real vectors, comparison was executed of the multilinear forms, covariant derivatives, the total differentials and derivatives in the direction which are calculated with different metrics—with Euclidean metric and with pseudoeuclidean metric of a zero index. Comparison was executed of the Taylor’s formulas to different metrics. What is established by us is that multilinear forms of different metrics have different values;covariant derivatives have identical values;the total differentials and derivatives in the direction have different values. In Euclidean space, Taylor’s formula with any order of accuracy assigned in advance is equal, but in pseudoeuclidean space Taylor’s formula is not equal with any order of accuracy. It is concluded that in space with a pseudoeuclidean metric, the computing sense of the differential and integral calculus created in Euclidean space is lost and the possibility of mathematical model operation of real physical processes in vector space with pseudoeuclidean metric is called into question.

Mesoscopic Models of Plants Composed of Metallic Nanowires

Various metallic structures of complex shape resembling living plant organisms （biomimetics） are produced as a result of self-assembly of nanowires growing on porous membranes in the course of pulse current electrodeposition. These structures occur if the electroplating is continued after the nanowires appear on the membrane surface. By varying the membrane ge- ometry, pulse current electroplating parameters, and alternating electrodeposition from two baths composed of a variety of electrolytes, diverse models were fabricated, including a hollow container with a wall thickness of 10 nm 20 nm. This biomimetic method suggests an analogy between the shape-forming processes of plants and their metallic models. Nanostruc- tured mesostructures of various metals （Ag, Pd, Ni）, alloys （PdNi, Pbln） and hybrid structures .（PdNi/Pb, PdNi/Pbln） were obtained. They can be of interest for fundamental research （self-assembly, morphogenesis） as well as for applications in nanotechnology （catalysis, nanoplasmonics, medicine, superhydrophobic surfaces）.

The Study on the Cycloids of Moving Loops

The infinite set of cycloids is created. Each cycloid of this set is defined as a movement trajectory of a point when this point circulates on the convex closed contour of arbitrary form when this contour moves rectilinearly without rotation on the plane with a velocity equal to the tangential velocity of a point on circulation contour. The classical cycloid is elements of this set. The differential equation of a cycloid set is derived and its solution in quadratures is received. The inverse problem when for the given cycloid it is necessary to fine the form of a circulation contour is solved. The problem of differential equation of the second order with boundary conditions about a bend of big curvature of an elastic rod of infinite length is solved in quadratures. Geometry of the loop which is formed at such bend is investigated. It is discovered that at movement of an elastic loop on a rod when the form and the size of a loop don’t change, each point of a loop moves on a trajectory which named by us the cycloid and which represents a circumference arch.

Simulation of Analog Costas Loop Circuits

The analysis of stability and numerical simulation of Costas loop circuits for the high-frequency signals is a challenging task. The problem lies in the fact that it is necessary to observe very fast time scale of input signals and slow time scale of signal s phases simultaneously. To overcome this difficulty, it is possible to follow the classical ideas of Gardner and Viterbi to construct a mathematical model of Costas loop, in which only slow time change of signal s phases and frequencies is considered. Such an construction, in turn,requires the computation of phase detector characteristic, depending on the waveforms of the considered signals. In this paper, the problems of nonlinear analysis of Costas loops and the approaches to the simulation of the classical Costas loop, the quadrature phase shift keying(QPSK) Costas loop, and the two-phase Costas loop are discussed. The analytical method for the computation of phase detector characteristics of Costas loops is described.

Concerning spikes in emission and absorption in the microwave range

In some events, weak fast solar bursts （near the level of the quiet Sun） were observed in the background of numerous spikes in emission and absorption. In such a case, the background contains the noise signals of the receiver. In events on 2005 September 16 and 2002 April 14, the solar origin of fast bursts was confirmed by simultaneous recording of the bursts at several remote observatories. The noisy background pixels in emission and absorption can be excluded by subtracting a higher level of continuum when constructing the spectra. The wavelet spectrum, noisy pro- files in different polarization channels and a spectrum with continuum level greater than zero demonstrates the noisy character of pixels with the lowest levels of emission and absorption. Thus, in each case, in order to judge the solar origin of all spikes, it is necessary to determine the level of continuum against the background of which the solar bursts are observed. Several models of microwave spikes are discussed. The electron cyclotron maser emission mechanism runs into serious problems with the in- terpretation of microwave millisecond spikes： the main obstacles are too high values of the magnetic field strength in the source （Pe 〈 uB）. The probable mechanism is the interaction of plasma Langmuir waves with ion-sound waves （l ＋ s → t） in a source related to shock fronts in the reconnection region.
