Long-term prognosis and its associated predictive factors in patients with eosinophilic gastroenteritis

BACKGROUND Eosinophilic gastroenteritis(Ege)is a chronic recurrent disease with abnormal eosinophilic infiltration in the gastrointestinal *** remain the most common treatment ***,disease relapse and glucocorticoid dependence remain notable *** date,few studies have illuminated the prognosis of Ege and risk factors for disease *** To describe the clinical characteristics of Ege and possible predictive factors for disease relapse based on long-term *** This was a retrospective cohort study of 55 patients diagnosed with Ege admitted to one medical center between 2013 and *** records were collected and ***-Meier curves and log-rank tests were conducted to reveal the risk factors for long-term relapse-free survival(RFS).RESULTS Ege showed a median onset age of 38 years and a slight female predominance(56.4%).The main clinical symptoms were abdominal pain(89.1%),diarrhea(61.8%),nausea(52.7%),distension(49.1%)and vomiting(47.3%).Forty-three(78.2%)patients received glucocorticoid treatment,and compared with patients without glucocorticoid treatments,they were more likely to have elevated serum immunoglobin E(Ige)(86.8%vs 50.0%,P=0.022)and descending duodenal involvement(62.8%vs 27.3%,P=0.046)at *** a median follow-up of 67 mo,all patients survived,and 56.4%had at least one *** variables at baseline might have been associated with the overall RFS rate,including age at diagnosis24 kg/m^(2)(HR 0.3922,95%CI:0.1916-0.8027,P=0.014),disease duration from symptom onset to diagnosis>3.5 mo(HR 2.4725,95%CI:1.220-5.0110,P=0.011),vomiting(HR 3.1259,95%CI:1.5246-6.4093,P=0.001),total serum Ige>300 KU/L at diagnosis(HR 0.2773,95%CI:0.1204-0.6384,P=0.022)and glucocorticoid treatment(HR 6.1434,95%CI:2.8446-13.2676,P=0.003).CONCLUSION In patients with Ege,younger onset age,longer disease c

BACKGROUND Autoimmune enteropathy(AIE)is a rare disease whose diagnosis and long-term prognosis remain challenging,especially for adult AIE *** To improve overall understanding of this disease’s diagnosis and *** We retrospectively analyzed the clinical,endoscopic and histopathological characteristics and prognoses of 16 adult AIE patients in our tertiary medical center between 2011 and 2023,whose diagnosis was based on the 2007 diagnostic *** Diarrhea in AIE patients was characterized by secretory *** common endoscopic manifestations were edema,villous blunting and mucosal hyperemia in the duodenum and *** blunting(100%),deep crypt lymphocytic infiltration(67%),apoptotic bodies(50%),and mild intraepithelial lymphocytosis(69%)were observed in the duodenal ***,there were other remarkable abnormalities,including reduced or absent goblet cells(duodenum 94%,ileum 62%),reduced or absent Paneth cells(duodenum 94%,ileum 69%)and neutrophil infiltration(duodenum 100%,ileum 69%).Our patients also fulfilled the 2018 diagnostic criteria but did not match the 2022 diagnostic criteria due to undetectable anti-enterocyte *** patients received glucocorticoid therapy as the initial medication,of which 14/16 patients achieved a clinical response in 5(IQR:3-20)*** were administered to 9 patients with indications of steroid dependence(6/9),steroid refractory status(2/9),or intensified maintenance medication(1/9).During the median of 20.5 months of followup,2 patients died from multiple organ failure,and 1 was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s *** cumulative relapse-free survival rates were 62.5%,55.6%and 37.0%at 6 months,12 months and 48 months,*** Certain histopathological findings,including a decrease or disappearance of goblet and Paneth cells in intestinal biopsies,might be potential diagnostic criteria for adult *** long-term prognosis is still unsatisfac

Porous organic cages(POCs)with permanent porosity and excellent host–guest property hold great potentials in regulating ion transport behavior,yet their feasibility as solid-state electrolytes has never been testified in a practical ***,we design and fabricate a quasi-solid-state electrolyte(QSSE)based on a POC to enable the stable operation of Li-metal batteries(LMBs).Benefiting from the ordered channels and cavity-induced anion-trapping effect of POC,the resulting POC-based QSSE exhibits a high Li+transference number of 0.67 and a high ionic conductivity of 1.25×10^(−4) S cm^(−1) with a low activation energy of 0.17 *** allow for homogeneous Li deposition and highly reversible Li plating/stripping for over 2000 *** a proof of concept,the LMB assembled with POC-based QSSE demonstrates extremely stable cycling performance with 85%capacity retention after 1000 ***,our work demonstrates the practical applicability of POC as SSEs for LMBs and could be extended to other energy-storage systems,such as Na and K batteries.

RGB WGM lasing woven in fiber braiding cavity

It is critical to realize woven and wearable red-green-blue(RGB) whispering gallery mode(WGM)lasing that is tunable and flexible in the fiber braiding cavity. However, it is still a challenge to achieve tunable full-color lasing with the large color gamut by a facile approach. Here, we design the braiding cavity to realize RGB WGM lasing with high performance. The braiding cavity consists of three optical fibers coated with dye-doped polymer. Each fiber therein serves as a resonant cavity to support multiple lasing modes. There is no interference owing to the air gap between them; therefore, we can achieve full-color WGM lasing. The lasing emission in our fiber braiding cavity covers a color gamut of 86.7% larger than standard RGB *** work may provide a platform for potential applications in white laser and integrated optoelectronic devices.

Physicochemical properties and biological activities of polysaccharides from the peel of Dioscorea opposita *** by four different methods

Polysaccharides are the important biologically active components found in the peel of Dioscorea opposita Thunb.(DTTP).The influences of 4 extraction methods,namely hot water extraction(W),acidic extraction(HA),hot-compressed water extraction(HCW)and enzyme-assisted extraction(EAE),on the yields,physicochemical properties,hypoglycemic and antioxidant activities of polysaccharides from DTTP were studied and *** these DTTP polysaccharides,DTTP-HA was outstanding in several ***-HA was the most water soluble;it had the highest total carbohydrate content(85.08%),the highest uronic acid(13.20%)and the highest thermal ***-HA and DTTP-W possessed a triple-helix *** 4 kinds of polysaccharides have the same types of monosaccharides,but in different molar *** method had a significant impact on the microstructures of the extracted ***-HA exhibited irregular structure with many *** the 4 extracted methods,the DTTP-HA and DTTP-W initially exhibited higher hypoglycemic and antioxidant *** better bioactivities of DTTP-HA may be related to the above *** findings indicated that acid extraction is an effective method to extract polysaccharides with high biological activities from DTTP.

Experimental and Numerical Research on Deformation Behavior of Thin-Walled and Large Expansion Ratio Guide Vane Liner in Hydroforming Process

Some tube hydroforming process tests and further research work were conducted to manufacture hollow guide vane liners( made of super alloy GH3030).The relative thickness( t0/ OD) of the tubular blank is approximately 0. 01,and the maximum expansion ratio( Dmax/ OD) of the needed part is more than 40%,and the length to diameter ratio of the expansion regionis more than 3. 0. It is very hard to manufacture this kind of ultra-thin-wall,curved axis and large expansion ratio tubular part without fracture and wrinkles. The success of the process is highly dependent on useful wrinkles with appropriate internal pressure and axial feeding. A simplified finite element model and a theoretical model are used for detecting the deformation behavior and forming laws. Further study results demonstrate that the useful wrinkles do not appear at the same time and middle-wrinkles need bigger axial force than tube-end-wrinkles and feeding-wrinkles. The wrinkles can transfer bigger axial force after its wave peak has come into contact with the die inner surface. The thickness thinning rate of the element at the peak is bigger than that at the trough. With the increase of the axial and hoop stress ratio,the critical buckling stress also increases. Microstructure examination results show that the grain size in the maximum thinning zone has been stretched and refined after the large deformation and annealing *** process is feasible and the finished part is qualified.

Soft magnetic properties of (Ni_(50)Fe_(50)) SiO_2 granular thin films for high frequency application

A series of (Ni50Fe50)x(SiO2)(1-x) films with different volume fraction x was fabricated by magnetron co-sputtering technique. The microstructure, magnetic and electrical properties were investigated systematically by using X-ray diffraction, transmission electronic microscope, vibrating sample magnetometer and the traditional four point measurement method of resistivity. The results show that the samples consist of nano-scaled Ni50Fe50 metallic particles with fcc structure uniformly embedded in amorphous insulating SiO2 matrix, and the particle size decreases with the decrease of x. The rapid change of coercivity with x is observed, and a minimum value 160 A·m-1 of Hc was obtained for the sample of x=0.83 with film thickness of 180 nm, which can be contributed to the exchange coupling between nano-scaled Ni50Fe50 particles. At the frequency lower than 1 GHz, the real part μ′ of complex permeability keeps about 110 and the image part μ″ is less than 15. Besides, this film exhibits high resistivity ρ=263 μΩ·cm, high saturation magnetization 4πMs=1.25 T, high in-plane magnetic anisotropy field Hk=6.37 kA·m-1, and the ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) frequency is estimated to be 2.8 GHz. Therefore, this film can be used in high frequency devices operating over 2 GHz.

Analysis of DNA Methylation of Gracilariopsis lemaneiformis Under Temperature Stress Using the Methylation Sensitive Amplification Polymorphism(MSAP) Technique

Gracilariopsis lemaneiformis is an economically important agarophyte, which contains high quality gel and shows a high growth rate. Wild population of G. lemaneiformis displayed resident divergence, though with a low genetic diversity as was revealed by amplified fragment length polymorphism(AFLP) and simple sequence repeat(SSR) analyses. In addition, different strains of G. lemaneiformis are diverse in morphology. The highly inconsistence between genetic background and physiological characteristics recommends strongly to the regulation at epigenetic level. In this study, the DNA methylation change in G. lemaneiformis among different generation branches and under different temperature stresses was assessed using methylation sensitive amplified polymorphism(MSAP) technique. It was shown that DNA methylation level among different generation branches was diverse. The full and total methylated DNA level was the lowest in the second generation branch and the highest in the third generation. The total methylation level was 61.11%, 60.88% and 64.12% at 15℃, 22℃ and 26℃, respectively. Compared with the control group(22℃), the fully methylated and totally methylated ratios were increased in both experiment groups(15℃ and 26℃). All of the cytosine methylation/demethylation transform(CMDT) was further analyzed. High temperature treatment could induce more CMDT than low temperature treatment did.
