We investigated the parametric optimization on incremental sheet forming of stainless steel using Grey Relational Analysis(GRA) coupled with Principal Component Analysis(PCA). AISI 316l stainless steel sheets were used to develop double wall angle pyramid with aid of tungsten carbide tool. GRA coupled with PCA was used to plan the experiment conditions. Control factors such as Tool Diameter(TD), Step Depth(SD), Bottom Wall Angle(BWA), Feed Rate(FR) and Spindle Speed(SS) on Top Wall Angle(TWA) and Top Wall Angle Surface Roughness(TWASR) have been studied. Wall angle increases with increasing tool diameter due to large contact area between tool and workpiece. As the step depth, feed rate and spindle speed increase,TWASR decreases with increasing tool diameter. As the step depth increasing, the hydrostatic stress is raised causing severe cracks in the deformed surface. Hence it was concluded that the proposed hybrid method was suitable for optimizing the factors and response.

We describe a novel mechanism for the synthesis of a stable high-entropy alloy powder from an otherwise immiscible Mg-Ti rich metallic mixture by employing high-energy mechanical milling. The presented methodology expedites the synthesis of amorphous alloy powder by strategically injecting entropic disorder through the inclusion of multi-principal elements in the alloy composition. Predictions from first principles and materials theory corroborate the results from microscopic characterizations that reveal a transition of the amorphous phase from a precursor intermetallic structure. This transformation, characterized by the emergence of antisite disorder, lattice expansion, and the presence of nanograin boundaries, signifies a departure from the precursor intermetallic structure. Additionally, this phase transformation is accelerated by the presence of multiple principal elements that induce severe lattice distortion and a higher configurational entropy. The atomic size mismatch of the dissimilar elements present in the alloy produces a stable amorphous phase that resists reverting to an ordered lattice even on annealing.

This paper presents the rigorous study of mobile robot navigation techniques used so far.The step by step investigations of classical and reactive approaches are made here to understand the development of path planning strategies in various environmental conditions and to identify research gap.The classical approaches such as cell decomposition(CD),roadmap approach(RA),artificial potential field(APF);reactive approaches such as genetic algorithm(GA),fuzzy logic(Fl),neural network(NN),firefly algorithm(FA),particle swarm optimization(PSO),ant colony optimization(ACO),bacterial foraging optimization(BFO),artificial bee colony(ABC),cuckoo search(CS),shuffled frog leaping algorithm(SFlA)and other miscellaneous algorithms(OMA)are considered for study.The navigation over static and dynamic condition is analyzed(for single and multiple robot systems)and it has been observed that the reactive approaches are more robust and perform well in all terrain when compared to classical approaches.It is also observed that the reactive approaches are used to improve the performance of the classical approaches as a hybrid algorithm.Hence,reactive approaches are more popular and widely used for path planning of mobile robot.The paper concludes with tabular data and charts comparing the frequency of individual navigational strategies which can be used for specific application in robotics.

Hybrid materials collected from organic and inorganic sources,which are traditionally used as brake lining materials,generally include fly ash,cashew shell powder,phenolic resins,aluminium wool,barites,lime powder,carbon powder and copper powder.The present research focuses on the specific effects produced by fly ash and aims to provide useful indications for the replacement of asbestos due to the health hazards caused by the related fibers.Furthermore,the financial implications related to the use of large-volume use of fly ash,lime stone and cashew shell powder,readily available in most countries in the world,are also discussed.It is shown that many manufacturing and automotive industries,which are currently experiencing difficulties in meeting the increasing demand for brake lining material,may take advantage from the proposed solution.

In recent decades,several optimization algorithms have been developed for selecting the most energy efficient clusters in order to save power during trans-mission to a shorter distance while restricting the Primary Users(PUs)interfer-ence.The Cognitive Radio(CR)system is based on the Adaptive Swarm Distributed Intelligent based Clustering algorithm(ASDIC)that shows better spectrum sensing among group of multiusers in terms of sensing error,power sav-ing,and convergence time.In this research paper,the proposed ASDIC algorithm develops better energy efficient distributed cluster based sensing with the optimal number of clusters on their connectivity.In this research,multiple random Sec-ondary Users(SUs),and PUs are considered for implementation.Hence,the pro-posed ASDIC algorithm improved the convergence speed by combining the multi-users clustered communication compared to the existing optimization algo-rithms.Experimental results showed that the proposed ASDIC algorithm reduced the node power of 9.646%compared to the existing algorithms.Similarly,ASDIC algorithm reduced 24.23%of SUs average node power compared to the existing algorithms.Probability of detection is higher by reducing the Signal-to-Noise Ratio(SNR)to 2 dB values.The proposed ASDIC delivers low false alarm rate compared to other existing optimization algorithms in the primary detection.Simulation results showed that the proposed ASDIC algorithm effectively solves the multimodal optimization problems and maximizes the performance of net-work capacity.

Groundwater pollution by fluoride is one of the prime concerns of the world population due to its toxicity,which results in adverse health impacts.In this paper,we review the current scenario of the fluoride contamination of groundwater in various countries across the globe and its impact on human health.During the last decade,several newly affected regions have been reported all over the world,with more than 100 countries affected by fluoride contamination in groundwater(concentration exceeding the acceptable limit of 1.5 mg/l defined by the World Health Organization).Fluoride poisoning is mainly due to the unsupervised ingestion of products for dental and oral hygiene and over-fluoridated drinking water.It is estimated that more than 200 million people from different countries are affected by fluoriderelated groundwater issues and health problems.The highest among these are from the countries in Africa(38),Asia(28),and Europe(24),followed by countries like South America(5),North America(3),and Australia(2).The source of fluoride in drinking water is primarily geogenic,together with forage,grasses and grains,tea,and anthropogenic sources.These countries affected were correlated with climatic zones and geological factors to gain insights into geospatial relations.Our analyses show that most of the fluoride pollution-prone zones are located in high-grade metamorphic terranes with granitoid or alkaline intrusions,geothermal hot springs,and volcanic regions with arid or semi-arid climatic conditions.This study also finds that children across the globe are more vulnerable than adults to fluoride contamination.The review finds that,although there are efficient fluoride removal techniques,including filters with next-generation nanomaterials,to date,there has not been a single technique developed that can claim to be a practically robust solution for fluoride removal from drinking water.Therefore,we suggest developing next-generation filters that can retain essential minerals in water and remove only harmful ones and se

Efficient utilization of a residential photovoltaic (PV) array with grid connection is difficult due to power fluctuation and geographical dispersion. Reliable energy management and control system are required for overcoming these obstacles. This study provides a new residential energy management system (REMS) based on the convolution neural network (CNN) including PV array environment. The CNN is used in the estimation of the nonlinear relationship between the residence PV array power and meteorological datasets. REMS has three main stages for the energy management such as forecasting, scheduling, and real functioning. A short term forecasting strategy has been performed in the forecasting stage based on the PV power and the residential load. A coordinated scheduling has been utilized for minimizing the functioning cost. A real-time predictive strategy has been used in the actual functioning stage to minimize the difference between the actual and scheduled power consumption of the building. The proposed approach has been evaluated based on real-time power and meteorological data sets.

Objective:To evaluate the level of understanding(knowledge),beliefs(attitude),and behavior(practice)of staff nurses toward medication errors(MEs).Methods:Self-administered questionnaires were distributed to nursing professionals who had at least 1 year of work experience.Each questionnaire contained 19 items assessing“knowledge,”“attitude,”and“practice”attributes toward MEs.Results:Responses from 47 nursing respondents were included for the final analysis.The mean knowledge score was 3.8±1.1(out of 6);66%and 79%of the respondents had awareness of medication repor ting systems and interventions in preventing MEs,respectively.lack of adequate knowledge in recognizing MEs(P=0.003),or presuming MEs are not as important enough to be reported(P=0.002),was considered as the major reason for under-repor ting of MEs.Nurses with higher knowledge score were against administration of medication through a different route than that prescribed by the physician(P=0.023),and tried to rectify an ME(P=0.020)and stayed with the patient until an oral medication had been swallowed(P=0.037).Conclusions:The nursing professionals were aware of the ME repor ting system and methods to prevent the occurrence of MEs.They also exhibited a positive attitude and followed optimal practices in controlling MEs.

An intense laser pulse focused onto a plasma can excite nonlinear plasma waves.Under appropriate conditions,electrons from the background plasma are trapped in the plasma wave and accelerated to ultra-relativistic velocities.This scheme is called a laser wakefield accelerator.In this work,we present results from a laser wakefield acceleration experiment using a petawatt-class laser to excite the wakefields as well as nanoparticles to assist the injection of electrons into the accelerating phase of the wakefields.We find that a 10-cm-long,nanoparticle-assisted laser wakefield accelerator can generate 340 pC,10±1.86 GeV electron bunches with a 3.4 GeV rms convolved energy spread and a 0.9 mrad rms divergence.It can also produce bunches with lower energies in the 4–6 GeV range.
