The aim of this study was to encapsulate blackberry juice through complex coacervation,using carrageenan,tragacanth,and xanthan associated with pea protein as wall materials,in addition to characterizing the particles and evaluating the profile of release in vitro after its application in diet chewable candies with blended pulp of blackberry,butia and red *** following analyses were performed:phenolic compounds,turbidimetry,encapsulation efficiency,antioxidant activity,morphology(SEM),functional groups(FTIR),thermal behavior(DSC),and in vitro *** complex coacervation between pea protein/carrageenan,pea protein/tragacanth,and pea protein/xanthan particles occurred at ph 3.09,4.61,and 3.45 respectively,in a ratio of 1:2(w/w).higher values of encapsulation efficiency and antioxidant activity were observed for pea protein/carrageenan and pea protein/*** and FTIR analyses confirmed the *** application of pea protein/tragacanth particles in the production of candies proved to be efficient for providing the highest percentages of phenolic compound release in the intestinal phase.

Purpose: To verify evidence of subclinical alterations through self-reported participation restrictions in normal hearing individuals and congenital hypothyroidism ***: An analytical, quantitative, cross-sectional exploratory study with a 1:1 ratio, consisting of a convenience sample of 86 normal hearing individuals with(n = 42) and without(n = 44) congenital hypothyroidism diagnosis. All participants underwent tonal and speech audiometry, immitance and distortion product otoacoustic emissions. The researchers excluded people with hearing loss, genetic syndromes and metabolic diseases. The instrument used for evaluate of self-reported participation restrictions was the hhIE-adapted questionnaire, composed of 25 questions, 12 of which were social domain and 13 emotional domain. Student's ttest and chi-square test were used for statistical analysis at a significance level of 5%.Results: There was a significant(p h(61.9%), with a greater relevance for the social domain(p = 0.002). There was a greater frequency of mild/moderate(40.5%)and higher prevalence of association with clinical factors and adherence to ***: The findings indicate that self-reported participation restrictions in normal hearing individuals with congenital hypothyroidism was more significant than in the non-exposed group, suggesting evidence of subclinical auditory abnormalities in this population.

Diazotrophic bacteria applied as a seed inoculant can improve the grain yield of several crops including maize. The current study aimed to test the agronomic efficiency and contribution of biological nitrogen fixation(BNF) of the endophytic diazotroph herbaspirillum seropedicae strain ZAE94 to maize under field conditions. Eighteen field assays were conducted in four different locations during consecutive years on two hybrids and two varieties of maize in a random block design with four replicates using a peat-based inoculant. The inoculant containing the ZAE94 strain was applied without nitrogen(N)fertilization or with 40 kg N ha^(-1) and was compared to the application of 40 and 80 kg N ha^(-1) without inoculation. Crop productivity and N accumulation in the grain were evaluated in addition to ^(15)N natural abundance(δ^(15)N) to evaluate BNF in the treatments without N fertilization. Fertilization at 40 kg N ha^(-1) plus bacterial inoculation produced crop yields similar to the treatment with 80 kg N ha^(-1) and increased grain N content, especially in the off-season with 40 kg N ha^(-1). The inoculation treatments showed lower δ^(15)N values than the non-inoculated treatments, which was most evident in the off-season. The BNF contributed about 30% of N accumulated in plants inoculated with ZAE94. On average, 64% of the N fertilized plots showed an increase of the parameters evaluated in the inoculated treatments, compared with the control. Inoculation also increased root length, root volume, and leaf area, and these parameters were positively correlated with plant weight using a hydroponic assay. This study revealed that the application of h. seropedicae inoculant increased the amount of N in plants owing to BNF, and there is a better chance of yield response to inoculation under low N fertilizer application in the off-season.

This study aimed determine the activity of aqueous and ethanolic extracts of Origanum vulgare against some viruses of veterinary importance (bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV), equine arteritis virus (EAV), equine influenza virus (EIV), feline calicivirus (FCV), canine distemper virus (CDV), canine adenovirus (CAV), and canine cororavirus (CCoV) by evaluating the possibility of inhibition of viral particles production. The aqueous extract from 1600 μg/mL did not show cytotoxicity for all cellular lineages evaluated, Madin Darby bovine kidney cells (MDBK), Rabbit kidney cells (RK 13), Madin Darby canine kidney cells (MDCK) and Crandell feline kidney cells (CRFK), and the ethanolic extract of Origanum vulgare was not toxic at 600 μg/mL. The addition of aqueous extract of Origanum vulgare in media resulted in a significant reduction of the EAV titer from 105.42 infecting dose for cellular culture at 50% (TCID50) to 102.09 TCID50/100 μL while in the presence of the ethanolic extract of Origanum vulgare in media resulted in a significant reduction of the EAV titer from 105.42 TCID50 to 100.79 TCID50/100 μL. To CDV the addition of aqueous extract resulted in a reduction from 102.00 TCID50 to 100.00 TCID50/100 μL while in the presence of the ethanolic extract titers were reduced from 102.00 TCID50 to 101.50 TCID50/100 μL. No significant differences in titers regarding the others analyzed viruses were detected. With respect to chemical analysis of the extracts of Origanum vulgare, were identified in the ethanol extract phenolics rosmarinic acid, caffeic acid, carnosol, p-coumaric acid, carnosic acid, luteolin, apigenin, kaempferol and quercetin. In aqueous extracts of Origanum vulgare were detected rosmarinic acid, p-coumaric acid carnosic acid, luteolin, apigenin, kaempferol and quercetin. Noninvasive diagnoses of nonalcoholic fatty-liver disease(NAFLD) involve the use of serologic markers and imaging methods, such as conventional ultrasonography(US),computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging. Although these methods are reliable for the noninvasive detection of moderate to severe fatty changes in the liver, they are not reliable for detecting nonalcoholic steatohepatitis(NASh) and fibrosis. New imaging technologies, such as US-based transient elastography, acoustic radiation force impulse and magnetic resonancebased elastography, can reportedly be used to determine the severity of liver fibrosis associated with NASh. In this context, the field of nuclear medicine through liver scintigraphy has recently been proposed, and is being explored for use in the diagnosis of NASh. More importantly, nuclear medicine may contribute to the distinction between simple steatosis and NASh. For example, the enhanced release of cytokines and the decrease in the phagocytic activity of Kupffer cells play important roles in the pathogenesis of NASh. Removal of technetium-99 m colloid from circulation by Kupffer cell phagocytosis therefore provides a valuable imaging technique. Thus, nuclear medicine is poised to provide useful tools for the evaluation of patients with NAFLD. however, the evidence is still scarce, and more studies with larger samples are needed to identify their role before they are used in clinical practice.

Coffee is one of the most popular beverages in the world with a global market worth over$USD 100 *** Brazil,the Arabica coffee(Coffea arabica)cultivar'Mundo Novo'is one of the most planted cultivars due to its high yield,growth vigor and ***,this traditional cultivar is generally not considered a good production source for specialty *** intra-cultivar variation and selecting'Mundo Novo'progenies with superior sensory quality may provide a viable option for coffee producers targeting the rapidly expanding specialty coffee *** present study analyzed cup quality attributes,agronomic characteristics and genetic identities of 14 genotypes selected from the putative progenies of'Mundo Novo'and assessed their potential as specialty coffee in *** quality was assessed using chemical and sensory analysis according to the methodology proposed by the Specialty Coffee Association(SCA)in six selected *** sensory quality,with sensory scores above 80 points was observed which qualified them in the very good and excellent quality *** identities of the 14 selections were verified using 96 SNP markers,based on 57 reference cultivars from the coffee collection of EPAMIG(Empresa de Pesquisa Agropecuária de Minas Gerais),*** and Bayesian clustering analysis generated consistent results and confirmed that all the 14 selections were progenies of'Mundo Novo'.Among them,the top three genotypes(SGAB 1,SGAB 7 and SGAB 8)were selected as promising genotypes,either for future genetic improvement or for direct use in the production of specialty coffee.
