●AIM:To assess the necessity of neuroimaging in patients with neurological or atypical findings of normal tension glaucoma(NTG)who do not exhibit typical glaucoma manifestations.●METHODS:A retrospective analysis was conducted on 90 atypical NTG patients who underwent cranial magnetic resonance imaging(MrI)due to atypical *** demographic characteristics,clinical parameters,and radiological findings were recorded.●rESULTS:Among the patients,66.7%had abnormal radiology results,with the most common findings being gliosis(34.4%),sequelae of cerebrovascular events and vascular malformations(14.4%),and benign intracranial mass lesions(11%).Non-glaucomatous visual field defects were more frequently observed in patients with abnormal neuroimaging ***,there were no significant differences in intraocular pressure,optic disc parameters,retinal nerve fiber layer thickness,and visual field indices between patients with normal and abnormal radiological *** mean age of the patients was ***,there was a significant age difference,with the abnormal radiology group having a higher median age(P=0.021).●CONCLUSION:The study highlights the importance of cranial imaging in older NTG patients to detect underlying pathologies and prevent *** suggests that neuroimaging may be warranted in NTG patients with atypical visual field defects incompatible with ***,routine neuroimaging in all NTG patients without classic neurological signs may not be necessary.

The demand for industrial enzymes is continually rising,fueled by the growing need to shift towards more sustainable industrial ***,making efficient enzyme production strains and identifying optimal enzyme expression conditions remains a ***,the production of the enzymes themselves comes with unavoidable impacts,e.g.,the need to utilize secondary ***,we take a more holistic view of bioprocess development and report an integrative approach that allows us to rapidly identify improved enzyme expression and secretion conditions and make use of cyanobacterial waste biomass as feed for supporting Pichia pastoris *** demonstrate these capabilities by producing a phytase secreted by *** that is grown on cyanobacterium hydrolysate and buffered glycerol-complex(BMGY)medium,with genetic expression conditions identified by high-throughput screening of a randomized se-cretion *** our best-performing strain is grown in a fed-batch fermentation on BMGY,we reach over 7000 U/mL in three days.

Inborn errors of immunity(IEI)disorders,formerly primary immune deficiency diseases,are a heterogeneous group of disorders with variable hereditary transitions,clinical manifestations,complications and varying disease *** of the clinical symptoms,signs and complications in IEI patients can be attributed to inflammatory and immune dysregulatory processes due to loss of microbial diversity(dysbiosis).For example,in common variable immunodeficiency patients,the diversity of bacteria,but not fungi,in the gut microbiota has been found to be reduced and significantly ***,this was associated with a more severe disease *** of the STAT3/Th17 pathway in hyper-IgE syndrome may lead to dysbiosis of the oral microbiota in these patients,causing Candida albicans to switch from commensal to *** of the microbiota can be used as a therapeutic approach in patients with ***,probiotics,postbiotics and fecal microbiota transplantation can be used to restore the balance of the gut microbiota and reduce pathogenicity in IEI *** trials are currently underway to understand the impact of this dysbiosis on the phenotype of IEI diseases and its role in their treatment.

BACKGrOUND The overlap of imaging manifestations among distinct splenic lesions gives rise to a diagnostic ***,a definitive diagnosis primarily relies on his-tological *** ultrasound(US)-guided coaxial core needle biopsy(CNB)not only procures sufficient tissue to help clarify the diagnosis,but reduces the incidence of puncture-related *** SUMMArY A 41-year-old female,with a history of pulmonary tuberculosis,was admitted to our hospital with multiple indeterminate splenic ***-scale ultrasono-graphy demonstrated splenomegaly with numerous well-defined hypoechoic *** contrast-enhanced computed tomography(CT)showed an en-larged spleen with multiple irregular-shaped,peripherally enhancing,hypodense *** emission CT revealed numerous abnormal hyperglycemia *** imaging findings strongly indicated the possibility of infectious disease as the primary concern,with neoplastic lesions requiring *** obtain the precise pathological diagnosis,the US-guided coaxial CNB of the spleen was ca-rried *** patient did not express any discomfort during the *** Percutaneous US-guided coaxial CNB is an excellent and safe option for obtaining precise splenic tissue samples,as it significantly enhances sample yield for exact pathological analysis with minimum trauma to the spleen parenchyma and sur-rounding tissue.
