A novel approach based on thermal diffusion was used to achieve controllable Mg content in A_(2)B_(7)-type La-Mg-Ni-based *** formation mechanism of the A_(2)B_(7)-type phase as a result of the thermal diffusion process and the effect of Mg content on hydrogen storage performance were investigated.X-ray diffraction(XRD)patterns and Rietveld refinement results showed that increased Mg transformed the LaNi_(5)phase in the La_(0.74)Sm_(0.03)Y_(0.23)Ni_(4.32)Al_(0.04)precursor alloy into a superlattice *** electron microscopy(SEM)images showed that Mg was evenly distributed in the alloy *** in the superlattice significantly inhibited the phase decomposition of the superlattice structure during the hydrogen absorption/desorption *** A_(2)B_(7)-type La_(0.57)Sm_(0.02)Y_(0.18)Mg_(0.23)Ni_(3.38)Al_(0.03)alloy composed of Gd_(2)Co_(7)and Ce_(2)Ni_(7)phases was successfully *** pressure-composition isotherm profiles showed that the alloy had a hydrogen storage capacity as high as 1.73 wt%,with good cycling *** 50 cycles of hydrogen absorption/desorption,the alloy retained a hydrogen storage capacity of 1.45 wt%,with a capacity retention rate of up to 84.28%.The Mg thermal diffusion process thus provides a new approach for the controlled preparation of La-Mg-Ni-based alloys.

Inhibition of epithelial-mesenchymal transition in A549 cell by transfected Napsin A

Background Epithelial-mesenchymal transition is a cellular process characterized by the loss of cell adhesion, inhibition of E-cadherin expression, and increased cell mobility. Cells without Napsin A are susceptible to transition. Further studies are required to investigate whether this transition can be reversed by restoration of Napsin A. Methods A Napsin A expression vector PLJM1-Napsin A plasmid was constructed and then transfected into the epithelial cell line A549 by lentivirus transfection to obtain A549-PLJM1-Napsin A cell line. Cell proliferation was assayed by 3-[4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl]-2,5 diphenyltetrazolium bromide and cell cycle was measured by flow cytometry. The E-cadherin, type I collagen, and focal adhesion kinase mRNA level was detected by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction. The Napsin A, E-cadherin, type I collagen, and focal adhesion kinase protein level in A549 cells was detected by Western blotting. Results Transforming growth factor-β1 induced epithelial-mesenchymal transition in A549 cells, as demonstrated by significant reduction of E-cadherin mRNA and protein levels （P 〈0.01） as well as up-regulation of type I collagen （P 〈0.01）. Transfection of Napsin A in A549 cells can partially block the transforming growth factor-β1-regulated expression of E-cadherin and type I collagen （P 〈0.01）. In addition, transforming growth factor-β1-induced cell proliferation was inhibited by Napsin A （P 〈0.01）. Further study demonstrated that Napsin A caused G0/G1 arrest and inhibited the expression of focal adhesion kinase （P 〈0.01）, a key protein in the integrin signaling pathway, in the in vitro epithelial-mesenchymal transition model. Conclusions Sustained Napsin A expression in A549 cells can inhibit the transforming growth factor-β1-induced epithelial-mesenchymal transition. This may be due to the Napsin A-mediated inhibition of focal adhesion kinase expression and integrin signaling pathway.

BACKGROUND Despite being one of the most prevalent sleep disorders,obstructive sleep apnea hypoventilation syndrome(OSAHS)has limited information on its immunologic *** immunological underpinnings of certain major psychiatric diseases have been uncovered in recent years thanks to the extensive use of genome-wide association studies(GWAS)and genotyping techniques using highdensity genetic markers(e.g.,SNP or CNVs).But this tactic hasn't yet been applied to *** a Mendelian randomization analysis,we analyzed the causal link between immune cells and the illness in order to comprehend the immunological bases of *** To investigate the immune cells'association with OSAHS via genetic methods,guiding future clinical *** A comprehensive two-sample mendelian randomization study was conducted to investigate the causal relationship between immune cell characteristics and *** statistics for each immune cell feature were obtained from the GWAS *** on 731 immune cell properties,such as morphologic parameters,median fluorescence intensity,absolute cellular,and relative cellular,was compiled using publicly available genetic *** results'robustness,heterogeneity,and horizontal pleiotropy were confirmed using extensive sensitivity *** Following false discovery rate(FDR)correction,no statistically significant effect of OSAHS on immunophenotypes was ***,two lymphocyte subsets were found to have a significant association with the risk of OSAHS:Basophil%CD33dim HLA DR-CD66b-(OR=1.03,95%CI=1.01-1.03,P<0.001);CD38 on IgD+CD24-B cell(OR=1.04,95%CI=1.02-1.04,P=0.019).CONCLUSION This study shows a strong link between immune cells and OSAHS through a gene approach,thus offering direction for potential future medical research.

CF_(2)H-containing molecules play pivotal roles in diverse fields from medicinal chemistry to materials science. However, the application of existing CF_(2)H reagents as a source of CF_(2)H radical is limited by their reactivity and preparation. Herein, we develop a simple and general visible-light-catalyzed radical difluoromethylation reaction of alkenes, dienes, and heteroaromatics using commercially available, easy-to-handle, and low-cost difluoroacetic anhydride as the CF_(2)H reagent. This scalable protocol enables the convenient synthesis of a range of CF_(2)H-containing compounds under mild conditions, exhibiting a broad substrate scope and functional group tolerance. Potential applications are further demonstrated by gram-scale synthesis, sunlight experiments, derivatization experiments as well as the synthesis of bioactive molecules.

The present study was designed to determine the chemical constituents of the stem tuber of Pinellia pedatisecta. The chemical constituents were isolated and purified by various chromatographic techniques, and their structures were elucidated on the basis of physicochemical properties and spectral data. Three new alkaloids(compounds 1, 2, and 3) were obtained and identified as 9-((5-methoxypyridin-2-yl)methyl)-9 H-purin-6-amine(1), 4-(2-(2, 5-dioxopyrrolidin-1-yl)ethyl)phenyl acetate(2), and N-(9-((5-methoxypyridin-2-yl)methyl)-9 H-purin-6-yl)acetamide(3). These compounds were evaluated for their cytotoxicity against human cervical cancer He La cells. Compounds 1 and 3 significantly inhibited the proliferation of He La cells with IC_(50) values being 3.02 ± 0.54 and 7.16 ± 0.62 μmol·L^(-1), respectively.

Cs and I can migrate through fuel-cladding interfaces and accelerate the cladding corrosion process induced by the fuel-cladding chemical *** coating has emerged as an important candidate for mitigating this chemical *** this study,first-principles calculations were employed to investigate the diffusion behavior of Cs and I in the Cr bulk and grain boundaries to reveal the microscopic interaction mitigation mechanisms at the fuel-cladding *** interaction between these two fission products and the Cr coating were studied systematically,and the Cs and I temperature-dependent diffusion coefficients in Cr were obtained using Bocquet’s oversized solute-atom model and Le Claire’s nine-frequency model,*** results showed that the Cs and I migration barriers were significantly lower than that of Cr,and the Cs and I diffusion coefficients were more than three orders of magnitude larger than the Cr self-diffusion coefficient within the temperature range of Generation-IV fast reactors(below 1000 K),demonstrating the strong penetration ability of Cs and ***,Cs and I are more likely to diffuse along the grain boundary because of the generally low migration barriers,indicating that the grain boundary serves as a fast diffusion channel for Cs and I.
