Sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) have great potential to be the next major energy storage devices due to their obvious advantages and developing advanced electrodes and electrolytes is urgently necessary to promote its future ***,hard carbon as a state-of-the-art anode of SIBs still suffers from the low initial Coulomb efficiency and unsatisfactory rate capability,which could be improved by forming desirable solid electrolyte interphases (SEI) to some ***,the chemistry and morphology of these interfacial layers are fundamental parameters affecting the overall battery operation,and optimizing the electrolyte to dictate the quality of SEI on hard carbon is a key ***,this review summarizes the recent research on SEI design by electrolyte manipulation from solvents,salts,and *** also presents some potential mechanisms of SEI formation in various electrolyte ***,the current advanced characterization techniques for electrolyte and SEI structure analyses have been comprehensively ***,current challenges and future perspectives of SEI formation on hard carbon anode for SIBs are provided from the viewpoints of its compositions,evolution processes,structures,and characterization techniques,which will promote SEI efficient manipulation and improve the performance of hard carbon,and further contribute to the development of SIBs.

Bacterial flora concurrent with Helicobacter pylori in the stomach of patients with upper gastrointestinal diseases

AIM:To investigate the non-Helicobacter pylori(***) bacterial flora concurrent with *** ***:A total of 103 gastric biopsy specimens from *** positive patients were selected for bacterial *** the *** bacterial isolates were identified by matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry(MALDI-TOF MS).RESULTS:A total of 201 *** bacterial isolates were cultivated from 67(65.0%) of the 103 gastric samples,including 153 isolates identified successfully at species level and 48 at genus level by MALDI-TOF *** dominant species were Streptococcus,Neisseria,Rothia and Staphylococcus,which differed from the predominantly acid resistant species reported previously in healthy *** prevalence of *** bacteria was higher in non-ulcer dyspepsia group than in gastric ulcer group(100%vs 42.9%,P < 0.001).Six bacterial species with urease activity(Staphylococcus epidermidis,Staphylococcus warneri,Staphylococcus capitis,Staphylococcus aureus,Brevibacterium *** Klebsiella pneumoniae) were also ***:There is a high prevalence of the *** bacteria concurrent with *** infection,and the *** bacteria may also play important as-yet-undiscovered roles in the pathogenesis of stomach disorders.

A new portable open-path instrument for ambient NH_(3) and on-road emission measurements

Increased attentions to vehicle emission of NH_(3)have been paid since it is generally regarded as an important source in urban ***,we developed a movable instrument based on Differential Optical Absorption Spectroscopy(DOAS)principle for detecting on-road NH_(3),which can avoid the losses in the sampling process attributed to the non-sampling *** this mobile DOAS,the temporal resolution,detection limit and relative error for NH_(3)were 1 min,2.29 ppbv and 4.57%±2.44%,*** employed to the on-road measurements along the arterial highway in Shanghai,the spatial distributions of NH_(3)and NO were obtained,and their dependence of traffic and road conditions were *** slopes of linear regression between NH_(3)and NO were 0.40,0.02 and 0.07 on the Middle Ring Road,Outer Ring Road and Chongming Island Ring *** indicates that light gasoline vehicles(LGVs)were found to be the main contributor to NH_(3)emissions,while heavy-duty diesel vehicles(HDVs)mainly emitted *** on the measured NH_(3)in the tunnel,the mileagebased NH_(3)emission factor per vehicle was estimated to be 17.9±6.3 mg/*** reported open-path instrument can be broadly used in on-road pollutant monitoring or vehicle emissions,and the measurements can reveal the real situation of emission characteristics,even find the abnormal operations of vehicle catalyst system.

Buckling Properties of Water-Drop-Shaped Pressure Hulls with Various Shape Indices Under Hydrostatic External Pressure

The water-drop-shaped pressure hull has a good streamline,which has good application prospect in the underwater ***,this study conducted analytical,experimental and numerical investigation of the buckling properties of water-drop-shaped pressure hulls under hydrostatic pressure.A water-drop experiment was conducted to design water-drop-shaped pressure hulls with various shape *** critical loads for the water-drop-shaped pressure hulls were resolved by using Mushtari’s *** numerical simulations including linear buckling analysis and nonlinear buckling analysis including eigenmode imperfections were *** results indicated that the critical loads resolved by Mushtari's formula were in good agreement with the linear buckling loads from the numerical *** formula can be extended to estimate the buckling capacity of water-drop-shaped pressure *** addition,three groups of pressure hulls were fabricated by using stereolithography,a rapid prototyping ***,three groups of the pressure hulls were subjected to ultrasonic measurements,optical scanning,hydrostatic testing and numerical *** experimental results were consistent with the numerical *** results indicate that the sharp end of the water-drop-shaped pressure hulls exhibited instability compared with the blunt *** paper provides a new solution to the limitations of experimental studies on the water-drop-shaped pressure hulls as well as a new configuration and evaluation method for underwater observatories.

A reverse particle grading strategy for design and fabrication of porous SiC ceramic supports with improved strength

Porous ceramics usually require high mechanical strength and maximized porosity simultaneously,while for conventional particle grading strategies,it is highly challenging to meet both *** this end,a reverse particle grading strategy was developed based on the linear packing model by unusually introducing coarse particles(d50=16μm)into a fine particle(d50=5μm)*** the extrusion and sintering process,tubular porous SiC ceramic supports with improved mechanical strength were successfully *** effects of coarse particles on the rheological properties of the ceramic paste and the macroscopic properties and microstructure of the SiC supports were systematically *** an increase in the content of coarse SiC particles to 30 wt%,the pressure generated during extrusion decreased from 5.5±0.2 to 1.3±0.1 ***,the bending strength of the tubular supports increased from 36.6±5.6 to 49.1±4.5 MPa when 20 wt%coarse powder was *** notably improved mechanical strength was attributed to the distribution of coarse particles that prolonged the route of crack ***,the optimized tubular supports had an average pore size of 1.2±0.1μm,an open porosity of 45.1%±1.6%,and a water permeability of 7163±150 L/(m2·h·bar)as well as good alkali and acid corrosion ***,the strategy was proven to be feasible for the scale-up fabrication of 19-channel SiC tubular porous ceramic supports.

Purification and characterization of biologically active recombinant human Eppin expressed in Escherichia coli

Background Eppin （epididymis protease inhibitor） appears to play an important role in primate fertility. However, the function of Eppin and its antibody in men and its relationship with men＇s infertility are poorly studied. To reveal the significance and possibility of detection of anti-Eppin antibody in clinical infertilty cases, we developed an Escherichia coil expression system for the expression of biologically active human Eppin. Methods The human Eppin gene was cloned into PET-28a（＋） vector after induction with 0.5 mmol/L isopropy-β-Dthiogalactoside （IPTG） at 26℃ for 4 hours, and the expressed fusion protein His6-Eppin was purified by Ni2. affinity chromatography. Afterwards, six female 8-week-old Balb/c mice were immunized with purified His6-Eppin for three weeks. Their sera were collected and polyclonal antibodies against His6-Eppin were purified, all of which were further verified by Western-blot and immunofluorescence analysis. Results About 18.33 mg His6-Eppin was obtained from 1-L flask culture. The produced polyclonal antibodies against His6-Eppin recognized the Eppin protein both in human epididymis and in HEK293T cells by over-expression of the recombinant human Eppin. Conclusion The purified His6-Eppin protein has biological activity, which might be a candidate for clinical diagnosis of infertility and development of male immuno-contraceptive agents.
