To find a more sensitive and earlier diagnostic marker for hepatocellular carcinoma, methylation-profils of CpG islands in the promoter of eleven genes in hepatocellular carcinoma（HCC） carcinoma and pericarcinoma tissues from ten patients were examined by using methylation-specific PCR （MSP） method. MSP was used to detect the methylation of p1., p53, Secreted frizzled-related protein 1.（SFRP 1. and SFRP2 promoters. Meanwhile, plasma alpha-fetoprotein （AFP） levels in 53 patients were also determined. The results showed that HCC was closely correlated to methylation in promoter of tumor-suppressing gene p1., p53, SFRP1.and SFRP2. The results suggest that methylation of SFRP2 promoter is possible a better marker for diagnosis of HCC than plasma Alpha-fetoprotein （AFP） levels. The false negative of SFRP1.and SFRP2 are perfectly complementary. If SFRP1.and SFRP2 were both considered as a complementary positive marker at the same time, the accurate rate for diagnosis of HCC is 1.0%.

Background:Ischemia-reperfusion injury(IRI)poses a significant challenge to liver transplantation(LT).The underlying mechanism primarily involves overactivation of the immune *** shock protein 1.0(HSP1.0)functions as a molecular chaperone that helps stabilize protein ***:An IRI model was established by performing LT on Sprague-Dawley rats,and HSP1.0 was silenced using ***-eosin staining,TUNEL,immunohistochemistry,ELISA and liver enzyme analysis were performed to assess IRI following *** blotting and quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction were conducted to investigate the pertinent molecular ***:Our findings revealed a significant increase in the expression of HSP1.0 at both the mRNA and protein levels in the rat liver following LT(P1.0,IRI subsequent to LT was notably reduced(P1.0 with siRNA resulted in a marked decrease in M1.type polarization of Kupffer cells in the liver and downregulated the NF-κB pathway in the liver(P1.0 in the liver promotes IRI after LT in rats by activating the NF-κB pathway and inducing M1.type polarization of Kupffer *** HSP1.0 to prevent IRI after LT may represent a promising new approach for the treatment of LT-associated IRI.

AIM:To study the relation between CYP1.1.Ile462Val polymorphism and colorectal cancer risk by meta-analysis. METHODS:A meta-analysis was performed to investigate the relation between CYP1.1.Ile462Val polymorphism and colorectal cancer risk by reviewing the related studies until September *** were extracted and *** odds ratio(OR) with 95% confidence interval(CI) was used to assess the strength of relation between CYP1.1.Ile462Val polymorphism and colorectal cancer risk. RESULTS:Thirteen published case-control studies including 5336 cases and 6226 controls were acquired. The pooled OR with 95%CI indicated that CYP1.1.Ile462Val polymorphism was significantly related with colorectal cancer risk(Val/Val vs Ile/Ile:OR=1.47,95%CI:1.1.-1.86,P=0.002;dominant model:OR= 1.33,95%CI:1.01.1.75,P=0.04;recessive model:OR=1.49,95%CI:1.1.-1.88,P=0.0009) .Subgroup ethnicity analysis showed that CYP1.1.Ile462Val polymorphism was also significantly related with colorectal cancer risk in Europeans(Ile/Val vs Ile/Ile:OR=1.22,95%CI:1.05-1.42,P=0.008;dominant model:OR= 1.24,95%CI:1.07-1.43,P=0.004) and Asians(Val/ Val vs Ile/Ile:OR=1.40,95%CI:1.07-1.82,P=0.01.recessive model:OR=1.46,95%CI:1.1.-1.89,P= 0.005) . CONCLUSION:CYP1.1.Ile462Val may be an increased risk factor for colorectal cancer.

AIM: To determine the NF-kB activity in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) in patients with acute cholangitis of severe type (ACST) and correlate the degree of NF-kB activation with severity of biliary tract infection and clinical outcome. METHODS: Twenty patients with ACST were divided into survivor group (1. cases) and nonsurvivor group (7 cases). Other ten patients undergoing elective gastrectomy or inguinal hernia repair were selected as control group. Peripheral blood samples were taken 24 hours postoperatively. PBMC were separated by density gradient centrifugation, then nuclear proteins were isolated from PBMC, and Electrophoretic Mobility Shift Assay (EMSA) used determined. The results were quantified by scanning densitometer of a Bio-Image Analysis System and expressed as relative optical density (ROD). The levels of TNF-alpha, IL-6, and IL-1. in the plasma of patients with ACST and healthy control subjects were determined by using an enzyme-linked immunoassay (ELISA). RESULTS: The NF-kB activity was 5.02 +/- 1.03 in nonsurvivor group, 2.98 +/- 0.51.in survivor group and 1.06 +/- 0.34 in control group. There were statistical differences in three groups (P1.and (587 +/- 64)ng.L(-1.in nonsurvivor group, (284 +/- 32)ng.L(-1. and (31. +/- 49)ng.L(-1.in survivor group and (89 +/- 1.)ng.L(-1. and (1.2 +/-1.)ng.L(-1.in control group. All patients with ACST had increased levels of TNF-alpha and IL-6, which were many-fold greater than those of control group, and there was an evidence of significantly higher levels in those of nonsurvivor group than that in survivor group (P1. in plasma were (378+/-32)ng.L(-1., (384+/-37)ng.L(-1. and (68+/-1.)ng.L(-1. in three groups, respectively. All patients had also increased levels of IL-1. when compared with control group (P1. levels were not significantly higher in nonsurvivors than in survivors

Chlorantraniliprole was introduced into china from 2008 as a novel insecticide to control the rice stem borer, Chilo suppressalis （Walker）. Cotesia chilonis （Matsumura） is the major parasitoid of C. suppressalis. We collected seven populations of C. suppressalis and two populations of C. chilonis in different locations in china in 2009 to investigate the lethal effects of chlorantraniliprole on them. The populations of C. suppressalis from different regions showed various LD50 values ranging from 2.00 to 1..70 ng per larva. Chlorantraniliprole has negligible acute contact toxicity （LC50500 mg L-1. to C. chilonis and its oral toxicity is also much lower than that of fipronil （2 800-fold difference in LC50）. The results indicated that chlorantraniliprole is a good alterative in rice integrated pest management （IPM） programs. The susceptibility data of C. suppressalis will be useful for monitoring resistance levels in future.

Heterostructures from two-dimensional transition-metal dichalcogenides MX2 have emerged as a hot topic in recent years due to their various fascinating properties. Here, we investigated the temperature dependent Raman and photoluminescence （PL） spectra in vertical stacked WS2/MoS2 monolayer heterostructures. Our result shows that both E^g and Alg modes of WS2 and MoS2 vary linearly with tem- perature increasing from 300 to 642 K. The PL measurement also reveals strong temperature dependencies of the PL intensity and peak position. The activation energy of the thermal quenching of the PL emission has been found to be equal to 69.6 meV. The temperature dependence of the peak energy well follows the band- gap shrinkage of bulk semiconductor.

ON ACOUSTIC PERFORMANCE OF MEASURING STRUCTURE FOR CAVITATION NOISE

The acoustic performance of the structure for measuring cavitation noise is theoretically analysed, and two judging criteria of the acoustic performance of STW (sound transmission window) are presented in this paper. One is of impedance matching between working liquid and STW:ρ1.1.= ρ2C2. The other is of maximum frequency (or minimum wave length) of cavitation noise spectrum: fmax&le c/60D (or λmin/D ≥ 60). If either of the criteria is met reliable measured results of cavitation noise will be obtained. The theoretical results are verified through experiments. According to the criteria, the paper analyses the acoustic performance of routinely used plexiglass STW. The results show that in the research of clear water cavitation the impedance ratio, 2. 1., does not satisfy ρ1.1.= ρ2C2, and fmax&le C/60D hardly holds for actual cavitation noise spectrum. Therefore, plexiglass STW is not good enough for sound transmission. From this point of view, polyethylene is better sound transmission material than plexiglass.
