Over the past years,many efforts have been accomplished to achieve fast and accurate meta-heuristic algorithms to optimize a variety of real-world *** study presents a new optimization method based on an unusual geological phenomenon in nature,named Geyser inspired Algorithm(GEA).The mathematical modeling of this geological phenomenon is carried out to have a better understanding of the optimization *** efficiency and accuracy of GEA are verified using statistical examination and convergence rate comparison on numerous CEC 2005,CEC 2014,CEC 2017,and real-parameter benchmark ***,GEA has been applied to several real-parameter engineering optimization problems to evaluate its *** addition,to demonstrate the applicability and robustness of GEA,a comprehensive investigation is performed for a fair comparison with other standard optimization *** results demonstrate that GEA is noticeably prosperous in reaching the optimal solutions with a high convergence rate in comparison with other well-known nature-inspired algorithms,including ABC,BBO,PSO,and *** that the source code of the GEA is publicly available at https://***/projects/gea.

Thermostat as a part of engine cooling system has a significant role in the shortening warm-up time and regulating the engine in proper temperature to approach optimal ***,there is not adequate research on this part of the cooling system and its *** this gap and also being used in large scale,this study is intended to evaluate performance and reflex of the wax type thermostat in different engine working *** this regard,performance of engine cooling system was investigated in various engine speeds and loads to reveal positive and negative influences of thermostat on engine cooling efficiency and engine *** to observed results,warm-up period and fuel consumption decrease by using a *** the other hand,however,the temperature oscillation of coolant fluid passing through engine increases sharply,which causes a disruption in the regulating engine temperature and also a possibility of the fluid boiling rises in some regions of the engine that increases the risk of damage in the engine *** temperature,fuel consumption,warm-up duration and emissions were provided and compared in two operation modes,with and without thermostat.

Gd2O3nanoparticles were synthesized from the commercial bulk Gd2O3 powders via a simple electrochemical method. The synthesized powders were characterized by means of X-ray powder diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM), transmission electron microscopy(TEM) and Fourier transform infrared(FTIR) spectroscopy. The effects of solution p H on the morphological features of the sample were studied. The strategy developed in this study offers significant advantages for the synthesis of Gd2O3 nanoparticles from the bulk Gd2O3 powders compared with the conventional routes. From SEM observations, the size of the Gd2O3 nanoparticles is estimated to be significantly smaller than70 nm.

The Firefly Algorithm(FA)is a highly efficient population-based optimization technique developed by mimicking the flashing behavior of fireflies when *** article proposes a method based on Differential Evolution(DE)/current-to-best/1 for enhancing the FA's movement *** proposed modification increases the global search ability and the convergence rates while maintaining a balance between exploration and exploitation by deploying the global best ***,employing the best solution can lead to premature algorithm convergence,but this study handles this issue using a loop adjacent to the algorithm's main ***,the suggested algorithm’s sensitivity to the alpha parameter is reduced compared to the original *** GbFA surpasses both the original and five-version of enhanced FAs in finding the optimal solution to 30 CEC2014 real parameter benchmark problems with all selected alpha ***,the CEC 2017 benchmark functions and the eight engineering optimization challenges are also utilized to evaluate GbFA’s efficacy and robustness on real-world problems against several enhanced *** all cases,GbFA provides the optimal result compared to other *** that the source code of the GbFA algorithm is publicly available at https://***/projects/gbfa.

The influence of ultrasonic vibrations on microstructure and mechanical properties of the AZ91-C magnesium alloy after ultrasonic assisted friction stir welding(UaFSW)in comparison with conventional friction stir welding(FSW)was *** FSW was applied at the rotational speed of 1400 r/min and welding speed of 40 mm/min and no defects were *** the same welding parameters,the process was carried out with inducing ultrasonic vibrations to the weld line at the amplitude of 15μ*** microstructure of the specimens was observed with optical and scanning electron *** results indicate that a very fine microstructure is obtained in UaFSW with respect to that of conventional ***,β-Mg17Al12 coarse dendrites are segregated to very fine and partly spherical particles that homogeneously distribute inα-Mg *** remarkably-modified morphology of microstructure attributed to severe plastic deformation comes from ultrasonic vibration and friction stirring *** and hardness tests were performed to evaluate the mechanical properties of the *** to the results,the vibration greatly improves the mechanical properties of the conventional FSW *** tensile strength and hardness are increased from 195 MPa and HV 79 in conventional FSW to 225 MPa and HV 87 in UaFSW,respectively.
