In this study, a rice spikelet mutant, multi-floret spikelet 1 （mfsl）, which was derived from ethylmethane sulfonate （EMS）- treated Jinhui 10 （Oryza sativa L. ssp. indica） exhibited pleiotropic defects in spikelet development. The mfsl spikelet displayed degenerated the empty glume, elongated the rachilla, the extra lemma-like organ and degraded the palea. Additionally, mfsl flowers produced varied numbers of inner floral organs. The genetic analysis revealed that the mutational trait was controlled by a single recessive gene. With 401 recessive individuals from the F2 segregation population, the MFS1 gene was finally mapped on chromosome 5, an approximate 350 kb region. The present study will be useful for cloning and functional analysis of MFS1, which would facilitate understanding of the molecular mechanism involved in spikelet development in rice.

Nanocomposites composed of SnO2 and CuO were prepared by hydrothermal method. The microstructures of obtained SnO2-CuO powders were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and nitrogen adsorption-desorption test. The results show that the nanocomposites exhibited coral-like nanostructure, and the average crystalline size of SnO2 was 12 nm. The specific surface area of the four samples, SnO2- 0.2CuO, SnO2-0.5CuO, SnO2-1.0CuO and SnO2-2.0CuO are 72.97, 58.77, 49.72 and 54.95 m2/g, respectively. The gas sensing performance of the four samples to ethanol, formaldehyde and H2S was studied. The sensor of SnOa-0.5CuO exhibited high response to hydrogen sulfide （4173 to 10 ppm H2S, where ppm represent 10-6）, and low response to ethanol and formaldehyde. The good selectivity exhibited that the SnO2-0.5CuO nanocomposite can be a promising candidate for highly sensitive and selective gas-sensing material to H2S.

In order to screen the aroma characteristics of soybean,a new method was established which can quickly quantify the content of 2-acetyl-1pyrroline(2-AP),an important compound related to soybean aroma,using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS).Based on peak profile,total peak area and retention time as test indexes,an accurate identification method for fragrant soybeans was *** optimum parameters of the protocol consisted of column temperature70℃,sample injector temperature 180℃,optimum extraction alcohol content 1 m L,Na Cl content 0.1 g,ultrasonication time10 min,and extraction time 1 h,which were established by using the orthogonal test of single factors and three factors with four levels(L_9(3)^4).2-AP content of leaves had significant correlations with seeds,which were easier to *** protocol was simple and easy to carry out,consumed only small amounts of reagents,and provided accurate and reliable results with good reproducibility.A total of 101 soybean genotypes from different geographical sources were analyzed using this *** results showed that the average content of 2-AP was 0.29 mg L^(–1),ranging from 0.094 to 1.816 mg L^(–1),and the genetic diversity index was *** all genotypes-tested,they were classified into three grades,including seven elite genotypes identified as"grade one fragrant soybeans",which were Zhonglong 608,Heinong 88,Ha13-2958,Hongmiandou,Heinong 82,huangmaodou,and Jiyu *** results provide both an identification technique and several elite aroma genotypes for gene discovery and good quality breeding in soybean.
