In this work,Monte Carlo simulations are used to study the critical adsorption behaviors of flexible polymer chains under the action of an external driving force F parallel to an attractive flat *** critical adsorption temperature Tc decreases linearly with increasing F,indicating that the driving force suppresses the adsorption of *** conformation of polymer is also affected by the driving ***,the effect of F is dependent on the competition between the driving force and *** strong force or at low temperature,the polymer is stretched along the direction of the force,while under weak force or at high temperature,the polymer is not *** the force is comparable to the temperature,the polymer may be stretched perpendicular to the driving force,and below Tc,we observe conformational transitions from parallel to perpendicular and again to parallel by decreasing the *** found that the perpendicular stretched conformation leads the polymer chain to synchronously move along the direction of the driving ***,the conformational transitions are attributed to the competition and cooperation between the driving force and the temperature.

China's efforts to mitigate air pollution from its large-scale coal-fired power plants(CFPPs)have involved the widespread use of air pollution control devices(APCDs).However,the operation of these devices relies on substantial electricity generated by CFPPs,resulting in indirect CO_(2) *** extent of CO_(2)emissions caused by APCDs in China remains ***,using a plant-level dataset,we quantified the CO_(2)emissions associated with electricity consumption by APCDs in China's *** findings reveal a significant rise in CO_(2)emissions attributed to APCDs,increasing from 1.48 Mt in 2000 to 51.7 Mt in ***,the contribution of APCDs to total CO_(2)emissions from coal-fired power generation escalated from 0.12%to 1.19%.Among the APCDs,desulfurization devices accounted for approximately 80%of the CO_(2)emissions,followed by dust removal and denitration *** analysis indicates that the lifespan of CFPPs will profoundly impact future emissions,with Nei Mongol,Shanxi,and Shandong provinces projected to exhibit the highest *** study emphasizes the urgent need for a comprehensive assessment of environmental policies and provides valuable insights for the integrated management of air pollutants and carbon emissions in CFPPs.

Three new clerodane-type diterpene glycosides,(5R,6S,8R,9S,10R)-6-O-[β-d-glucopyranosyl-(1→4)-α-l-rhamnopyranosyl]cleroda-3,13(16),14-diene(1),(5R,6S,8R,9S,10R,13S)-6-O-[β-d-glucopyranosyl-(1→4)-α-l-rhamnopyranosyl]-2-ox-oneocleroda-3,13-dien-15-ol(2),(5R,6S,8R,9S,10R)-6-O-[β-d-glucopyranosyl-(1→4)-α-l-rhamnopyranosyl]-(13E)-2-oxoneocleroda-3,14-dien-13-ol(3),together with two known compounds 4 and 5 were isolated from Dicranopteris *** structures of these compounds were elucidated by detailed spectroscopic analysis,and the absolute configuration of compound 2 was determined by ECD *** addition,compound 1 exhibited weak inhibitory activities against SMMC-7721,MCF-7 and SW480.

Analysis and Translation Strategies on Cultural Differences Between Chinese and Western

Language and culture are interactive and interdependent. Translation is not only the transfer between two languages, but also between two cultures. Therefore, cultural difference plays a significant role in translation. In the past decades, translation study has shifted from the purely linguistic level to cultural perspective, and study on cultural differences has brought a new world for the sake of translation studies. This paper tries to illustrate the connection between language and culture, the correlation between culture and translation, analyze the main aspects of cultural differences between Chinese and Western, and sum up translation strategies of domestication and foreignization as well as specific translation methods on the consideration of cultural differences. Finally, the paper proposes that translators should pay attention to cultural differences and adjust target text in accordance with cultural differences

Objective To investigate the protective effects of Shexiang Tongxin Dropping Pill(麝香通心滴丸,STDP)following sodium laurate-induced coronary microembolization(CME)in *** Forty rats were divided into 4 groups:the control(sham)group,CME group,low-dose STDP pretreatment group(20 mg·kg^(−1)·d^(−1)),and high-dose STDP pretreatment group(40 mg·kg^(−1)·d^(−1)).The rats were intragastric administrated with STDP 2 weeks before ***,the histopathological alterations were observed using optical microscopy and transmission electron *** biomarkers were analyzed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent *** functions including the mitochondrial permeability transition pore(mPTP)mtDNA copy number were determined and proteins of AKT/GSK3βwere analyzed by Western *** The rats in the CME group showed a significant increase in the fibrinogen-like protein 2 expression level and mitochondrial dysfunction and a decrease in the expression level of antioxidant biomarkers(superoxide dismutase and catalase,P<0.01 for all).In contrast,the rats in the low-and high-dose STDP pretreatment groups showed a significant decrease in coronary microthrombi(P<0.05);moreover,STDP restored the antioxidant-related protein activities and mitochondrial function,inhibited mPTP opening,decreased AKT-Ser473 phosphorylation,and increased GSK3β-Ser9 phosphorylation(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Conclusion STDP may be useful for treatment of CME,possibly via regulation of mPTP opening and AKT/GSK3βphosphorylation.

Bryum argenteum Hedw. is a desiccation tolerant bryophyte and belongs to one of the most important components of the biological soil crusts （BSCs） found in the deserts of Central Asia. Limited information is available on rehydration-responsive proteins in desiccation tolerant plants. As a complement to our previous research analyzing the rehydration transcriptome, we present a parallel quantitative proteomic effort to study rehydration-responsive proteins. Bryophyte gametophores were desiccated （Dry） and rehydrated for 2 h （R2） and 24 h （R24）. Proteins from Dry, R2 and R24 gametophores were labeled by isobaric tags for relative and absolute quantitation （iTRAQ） to determine the relative abundance of rehydration-responsive proteins. A total of 5503 non-redundant protein sequences were identified and 4772 （86.7%） protein sequences were annotated using Gene Ontology （GO） terms and Pfam classifications. Upon rehydration 239 proteins were elevated and 461 proteins were reduced as compared to the desiccated protein sample. Differentially up-regulated proteins were classified into a number of categories including reactive oxygen species scavenging enzymes, detoxifying enzymes, Late Embryogenesis Abundant （LEA） proteins, heat shock proteins, proteasome components and proteases, and photosynthesis and translation related proteins. Furthermore, the results of the correlation between transcriptome and proteome revealed the discordant changes in the expression between protein and mRNA.

The rhizosheath, a layer of soil particles that adheres firmly to the root surface by a combination of root hairs and mucilage, may improve tolerance to drought stress. Setaria italica(L.) P. Beauv.(foxtail millet), a member of the Poaceae family, is an important food and fodder crop in arid regions and forms a larger rhizosheath under drought conditions. Rhizosheath formation under drought conditions has been studied, but the regulation of root hair growth and rhizosheath size in response to soil moisture remains unclear. To address this question, in this study we monitored root hair growth and rhizosheath development in response to a gradual decline in soil moisture. Here, we determined that a soil moisture level of 10%–14%(w/w)stimulated greater rhizosheath production compared to other soil moisture levels. Root hair density and length also increased at this soil moisture level, which was validated by measurement of the expression of root hair-related *** findings contribute to our understanding of rhizosheath formation in response to soil water stress.
