AIM： To evaluate the frequency of the loss of the Adenomatous Polyposis Coil （APC） protein and to compare the APC status with the characteristics of colorectal adenomas. METHODS： Immunohistochemical analysis of the APC protein was performed on 118 adenomas and the results were compared with parameters of malignant potential, location of adenomas, macroscopic appearance and age of the patients. RESULTS： A complete loss of the APC protein was found in 28 （24%） adenomas, while 90 （76%） were APC positive. The mean size of adenomas was 13.5± 14.2 mm （95% CI 10.5-16.5） in APC-positive, and 13.8 ±15.5 mm （95% CI 7.8-19.8） in APC-negative adenomas （P = 0.364）. Statistical analysis revealed no difference between APC-positive and negative adenomas as to the histological type （P = 0.327） and grade of dysplasia （P =0.494）. We found that even advanced adenomas did not differ in their APC status from the non-advanced tumors （P = 0.414）. Finally, no difference was found when the location （P = 0.157）, macroscopic appearance （P = 0.571） and age of patients （P = 0.438） were analysed and compared between both APC positive and negative adenomas. CONCLUSION： Most adenomas expressed full-length APC protein, suggesting that protein expression is not a reliable marker for assessment of APC gene mutation. Complete loss of APC protein did not influence morphology, location, or appearance of adenomas, nor was it affected by the patient＇s age.

This paper deals with mathematical modelling of impulse waveforms and impulse switching functions used in electrical engineering. Impulse switching functions are later investigated using direct and inverse z-transformation. The results make possible to present those functions as infinite series expressed in pure numerical, exponential or trigonometric forms. The main advantage of used approach is the possibility to calculate investigated variables directly in any instant of time;dynamic state can be solved with the step of sequences (T/6, T/12) that means very fast. Theoretically derived waveforms are compared with simulation worked-out results as well as results of circuit emulator LT spice which are g.v.n in the paper.

Let g = （v, E） be a finite, simple and undirected graph with p vertices and q edges. An （a, d）-vertex-antimagic total labeling of g is a bijection f from v（g） t2 E（g） onto the set of consecutive integers 1, 2,... ,p ＋ q, such that the vertex-weights form an arithmetic progression with the initial term a and difference d, where the vertex-weight of x is the sum of the value f（x） assigned to the vertex x together with all values f（xy） assigned to edges xy incident to x. Such labeling is called super if the smallest possible labels appear on the vertices. In this paper, we study the properties of such labelings and examine their existence for 2r-regular graphs when the difference d is 0, 1,..., r ＋ 1.

Wheat sharp eyespot, a stem disease caused by the soilborne fungus Rhizoctonia cerealis van der Hoeven,has become a threat to wheat production worldwide. Exploiting resistance resources from wild relatives of wheat is a promising strategy for controlling this disease. In this study, a new wheat–Dasypyrum villosum T2DS·2v#4L translocation line in the background of Chinese Spring(CS) showed stable resistance to R. cerealis. Introgression of the T2DS·2v#4L chromosome into wheat cultivar Aikang 58 by backcrossing produced a marked increase in sharp eyespot resistance in NIL-T2DS·2v#4L in comparison with NILT2DS·2DL, and no detrimental effects of 2v#4L on agronomic traits were observed in the BC2F2, BC2F2:3,and BC2F2:4generations. Flow-sorted sequencing of 2v#4L yielded 384.3 Mb of assembled sequence, and8836 genes were predicted of which 6154 had orthologs in at least one of the 2AL, 2BL, and 2DL arms of CS, whereas 1549 genes were unique to 2v#4L. About 100,000 SNPs were detected in genes of 2v#4L and2DL in 10 sequenced bread wheat cultivars. A Kompetitive Allele Specific Polymerase chain reaction and30 conserved ortholog sequence markers were developed to trace the 2v#4L chromatin in wheat backgrounds. T2DS·2v#4L compensating translocation lines represent novel germplasm with sharp eyespot resistance and the markers will allow rapid detection in breeding programs.

Nd Sr2Mn2O7＋δ compounds were synthesized by ceramic method under three different cooling conditions. The Nd Sr2Mn2O7＋δ samples were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction（XRD）. Oxygen non-stoichiometry data for the studied powders were determined by using gravimetric and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy（XPS） methods. The correlation of cooling method and oxygen as non-stoichiometry was established. The electroconductivity in samples was studied by using four-point probe method, and the strong correlation with non-stoichiometry was found out. Magnetization measurements were carried out. It was found that the magnetic and transport properties of the samples were also influenced by oxygen non-stoichiometry. The evolution of the magnetic properties could be explained by the formation of magnetic clusters in the vicinity of oxygen vacancies（ov） and strong competition between the superexchange and double exchange interactions.
