In this paper, the effects of viscous and Ohmic heating and heat genera- tion/absorption on magnetohydrodynamic flow of an electrically conducting Casson thin film fluid over an unsteady horizontal stretching sheet in a non-Darcy porous medium are investigated. The fluid is assumed to slip along the boundary of the sheet. similar- ity transformation is used to translate the governing partial differential equations into ordinary differential equations. A shooting technique in conjunction with the 4th order Runge-Kutta method is used to solve the transformed equations. Computations are car- ried out for velocity and temperature of the fluid thin film along with local skin friction coefficient and local Nusselt number for a range of values of pertinent flow parameters. It is observed that the Casson parameter has the ability to enhance free surface velocity and film thickness, whereas the Forchheimer parameter, which, is responsible for the inertial drag has an adverse effect on the fluid velocity inside the film. The velocity slip along the boundary tends to decrease the fluid velocity. This investigation has various applications in engineering and in practical problems such as very large scale integration （VLsI） of electronic chips and film coating.

Unsteady hydromagnetic Couette flow of a viscous incompressible electrically conducting fluid in a rotating system is studied when the fluid flow within the channel is induced due to the impulsive movement of the one of the plates of the *** plates of the channel are considered porous and the magnetic field is fixed relative to the moving *** solution of the governing equations is obtained by Laplace transform *** expression for the shear stress at the moving plate is also *** behaviour of the solution is analyzed for small as well as large values of time t to highlight the transient approach to the final steady state flow and the effects of rotation,magnetic field and suction/*** is found that suction has retarding influence on the primary as well as secondary flow where as injection and time have accelerating influence on the primary and secondary flows.

This work describes investigation of radiation dosimetry characteristics of magnesium （Mg） doped lithium fluoride （LiF） crystals co-doped with different concentrations of dysprosium （Dy）. These crystals were grown by edge defined film fed crystal growth （EFg） tech- nique. Thermoluminescence （TL） measurements were made on as grown （Ag） and annealed （AN） crystals after they were irradiated with a gamma dose of 15 gy. The influence and advantage of optimized Dy^3＋ concentration in enhancing the thermoluminescence （TL） properties of LiF：Mg samples were discussed. The normalized peak height of the annealed crystals was nearly 3 times that of the as grown crystals for the particular concentration samples irradiated with Co6~ gamma source showed linearity up to 10 gy. Thermoluminescence signal observed over a period of one month showed negligible fading. Thermoluminescence glow curve structure of optimized phosphor remained stable for higher doses of gamma rays of 103 gy. glow curve was analyzed using computer glow curve deconvolution （CgCD） method and trapping parame- ters were calculated.

Endoscopic esophageal stent placement is widely used in the treatment of a variety of benign and malignant esophageal *** expanding metal stents(sEMs)are associated with significantly reduced stent related mortality and morbidity compared to plastic stents for treatment of esophageal conditions;however they have known complications of stent migration,stent occlusion,tumor ingrowth,stricture formation,reflux,bleeding and perforation amongst others.A rare and infrequently reported complication of sEMs is stent fracture and subsequent migration of the broken *** have only been a handful of published case reports describing this *** this report we describe a case of a spontaneously fractured nitinol esophageal sEMs,and review the available literature on the unusual occurrence of sEMs fracture placed for benign or malignant obstruction in the *** fracture could be a potentially dangerous event and should be considered in a patient having recurrent dysphagia despite successful placement of an esopha-geal *** usually requires endoscopic therapy and may unfortunately require surgery for retrieval of a distally migrated *** recognition and prompt management may be able to prevent further problems.

Objective:The aim of this study was to evaluate the differences in clinical outcomes of endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP),ERCP followed by cholecystectomy(EC)and percutaneous aspiration(PA)in the elderly population with ***:We included a total of 43338 elderly patients aged 60 years or older and 45295 patients younger than 60 years for comparison in our *** were obtained from the Nationwide Inpatient sample(Healthcare Utilization Project)for years 2001–14 by identifying patients who were admitted for gallstone complications based on the ICD 9 diagnostic *** logistic regression was used to calculate the odds of in-hospital mortality and to detect statistical differences among the treatment groups,age groups and between male and female *** ordinary linear regression was used to compare the length of hospital stay and readmission frequency among the different age ***:The age of the patient affected mortality and the length of hospital stay after any type of procedure of gallstones *** a manner independent of the patient’s age,PA was associated with the highest risk of death and length of stay,while the EC was characterized by lowest mortality and ERCP by the shortest length of *** age of the patient nor the type of procedure affected the likelihood of *** odds of death and the probability of readmission were not affected by patient ***,in patients aged between 60 and 79 years,the female gender predicted a shorter duration of stay in the ***:A patient’s age negatively affects the treatment outcomes of cholelithiasis with associated *** EC procedure appears to be the method of choice for the management of complicated gallstones in patients of all ages.

The ability to screen larger populations with fewer replicates and non-destructive measurements is one advantage of high-throughput phenotyping(HTP)over traditinal phenotyping *** this study,two wheat accessions were grown in a controlled-environment with a moderate drought imposed from stem elongation to ***-green-blue(RgB)imaging was performed on 17 of the 22 d following the start of drought *** measurements from all plants were performed at the conclusion of the *** effect of line was signifcant for shoot dry matter,spike dry matter,root dry matter,and tller number,while the water treatment was significant on shoot dry matter and root dry *** temporal,non-destructive nature of HTP allowed the drought treatment to be significantly differentiated from the well-watered treatment after 6 d in a line from Argentina and 9 d in a line from *** difference of 3 d indicated an increased degree of drought tolerance in the line from ***,HTP from the final day of imaging accurately predicted reference plant height(r=1),shoot dry matter(r=0.95)and tller number(r=0.91).This experiment ilustrates the potential of HTP and its use in modeling plant growth and development.

The doctrine of＇the golden mean＇ of the Confucian certainly applies at the molecular level to cell growth and migration. It is critically important for tissue architecture and homeostasis that cells stop prolifera- tion when reaching appropriate density and halt migration in a direction to avoid collision with others. This ＇red light＇ to hinder cell movement is essential for maintaining contact inhibition of locomotion （CIL）--a phe- nomenon that a cell ceases to continue moving in the same direction when it comes into contact with another cell. The concept of CIL emerged initially from the early work of Abercrombie and Heaysman in the 1950s.

The viability of some waste as cooling pads for evaporative cooling application in south-Western Nigeria was experimentally *** is to ascertain their effectiveness as a substitute for costly imported pads in a low income *** presented was the feasibility of utilizing standalone evaporative coolers for storage and selling of fruits in south-Western *** ambient air was forced through the various pads at three different fan speeds and constant cooling pad thickness of 30 *** characteristics were considered based on daily analysis using temperature and humidity data measured from morning to evening at location co-ordinates latitude 7°10′N and longitude 5°05′E for 6 *** daily temperature T and humidity h ranged between 26℃≤T≤45℃ and 28%≤h_(2)≤80%.Temperature differenceDT and humidity differenceDh of 0.6℃≤ΔT≤18.3℃ and 1.0%≤Δh≤53%was achieved for the four cooling pad materials tested at three fan *** andDh was recorded at fan speed of 4 m/s with shredded latex foam and jute sack *** cooling efficiency(η)calculated for all the pads under the three speeds ranged from 17.3%≤η≤98.8%.Payback period(PBP)analysis indicated the considered EVC is economically feasible and investors will break even in 1.75 years.

This article contributes to a small but growing body of multi-sited and multi-scalar research on the Belt and Road *** focus on relations at the national,regional and international scales,and present original research from China and Turkey,to show how the Istanbul-Ankara high-speed railway has served as a testing ground for China's Belt and Road Initiative(BRI).Its construction was initially funded by the European Investment Bank,but it is now part of the backbone of the Turkish government's Middle Corridor plan which enhances west-east connectivity and integration with the Caucasus and Central *** show that in contrast to multinational corporations from the OECD that seek to remain footloose,Chinese state-owned enterprises(sOEs)seek to adapt to,apprehend and ultimately shape local *** the case of Turkey this proved difficult given its institutional alignment with the European ***,while the railway project was completed successfully by a consortium led by a Chinese sOE,Turkey's dynamic and complex regulatory environment discourages Chinese sOEs in the infrastructure *** conclude that the Turkish and Chinese governments are currently pursuing complementary territorial visions yet their cooperation is project-based and pragmatic.
