Swift XRT Analysis of Type II-P Supernova SN 2008ij

This study investigates the X-ray properties and evolution of Type II supernovae (SNe II) observed by Swift, examining variations among supernovae and exploring their X-ray characteristics over time. We present the first X-ray study of the Type IIp supernova SN 2008ij using data from the Swift X-ray mission. This investigation focuses on its spectral properties, identifying an X-ray flux of 1.20 (+0.11, −0.10) × 10−13 erg/cm2/s and a plasma temperature of 4.76 (+1.22, −0.83) keV. Our study marks an advancement in understanding SN 2008ij, providing crucial results into its X-ray emission characteristics. These results lay the groundwork for future studies of Type IIp supernovae, offering a foundation for exploring their evolutionary and physical processes.

Nitrogen mineralization in the oldest climax communities in the eastern mediterranean region

In this study,we investigated how tree species affect N mineralization in connection to some soil properties and seconder metabolite levels of litter,in the soil of the old-est native forest *** the oldest pure communi-ties of Pinus nigra(PN),Fagus orientalis(FO),and Abies bornmuelleriana(AB)in the mountain range of mount Uludağ,Bursa,Turkey,annual net yield and N mineraliza-tion in the 0-5-and 5-20-cm soil layers were determined in a field incubation study over 1 *** locations were chosen from 1300 to 1600 m a.s.l.,and moisture content(%),ph,water-holding capacity(%),organic C,total N,and C/N ratio,and annual net mineral N yield of the soil and hydro-lyzed tannic acid and total phenolic compounds in litter were compared for these forest *** had the highest annual net Nmin yield(43.9±4.8 kg ha^(-1) a^(-1)),*** the lowest(30.5±4.2 kg ha^(-1) a^(-1)).Our findings show that in the oldest forest ecosystems,the seasonal soil moisture content and tree species play an essential role in N cycling and that hydrolyzed tannic acids and total phenolic compounds effectively control N *** acid and total phenolics in the litter were found to inhibit nitrification,but total phenolics were found to stimulate ammonification.

Background: COVID-19 limitations have hindered the implementation of new technologies by preventing proctors from coming to the *** share our first experience of magnetic resonance imaging(mRI)-guided focused ultrasound(mRgFUS)treatment with an international remote online proctorship,and develop and evaluate the methodology of remote mRgFUS ***: This single-center,nonrandomized controlled prospective study included 94 patients:27 with essential tremor(ET)and 67 with tremor-dominant Parkinson's disease(PD).The coming of proctors was impossible,so we arranged for the remote participation of proctors from the United Kingdom,Spain,and Israel.A total of 38 patients(40.4%)received telemedicine-proctored treatment(proctor group)and 56 received their treatment independently(solo group).We used the Clinical Rating Scale for Tremor(CRST)for ET patients and the Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale(UPDRS)Part III for PD ***: In patients with ET,success rates were 81.8%(proctor group)and 100%(solo group)(p=0.22).CRST reduction on the treated side was 71.43%[65.83%;80.56%](proctor group)versus 60.87%[53.99;79.58](solo group)(p=0.19).None of the patients showed worsening of tremors within 1 *** patients with PD,the success rates were 92.6%(proctor group)and 100%(solo group)(p=0.08).The UPDRS Part III improvement was 30.1%(proctor group)versus 39.9%(solo group)(p=0.003).The 1-year recurrence rate was 40%(proctor group)and 17.5%(solo group)(p=0.04).No complications were observed at 6 ***: We developed a feasible and safe methodology for telemedicine remote online-proctored mRgFUS *** significant difference was observed between the solo and developed remote proctor protocols in terms of complication rate,effect,and long-term results;however,UPDRS Part III improvement was better in the PD solo *** study demonstrated that the mRgFUS international proctorship can be performed successfully remotely.

The recovery of yttrium is proposed by applying a solid-liquid extraction process using di-2-ethyl hexylphosphoric acid(D2EHPA) as extracting *** extracting agents were supported on a macro porous polymeric resin XAD-7(solid phase).Yttrium ions extraction and discharge tests were performed,firstly from a synthetic aqueous solution of 100 mg/L Y(liquid phase) at 25℃ with *** effects of ph of aqueous solutions bearing yttrium,volume fraction of extracting agents and the solid/liquid(S/L)ratio on the yttrium recovery were *** most favorable conditions for yttrium ions extraction are;20 vol% D_(2)EHPA functionalized resin,ph=1.5 and an S/L ratio of 10 mg/mL The discharge of yttrium ions was done under the same conditions of extraction stage,using a 2 mol/L [H_(2)SO_(4)] as stripping *** to 80% yttrium is extracted,while 75% yttrium is recovered in the striping *** all experiments,the reaction equilibrium is reached after 20 min,and the kinetics for the extraction stage was determined as a second-order ***,experiments were carried out to discharge the yttriumloaded resins,and it has been determined that the best ph value to strip the Y ions is *** tests of extraction and discharge for yttrium ions show that the functionalized resin can work at least five cycles without decreasing its ***,the proposed process was tested in a real solution with Y ions fro m a waste fluorescent la mp powder leached in H_(2)SO_(4),demonstrating the ability to effectively recover yttrium,separating it from various metals from the studied residue.

Influences of substrate temperature on microstructure and corrosion behavior of APS Ni_(50)Ti_(25)Al_(25) inter-metallic coating

In the present investigation, Ni_（50）Ti_（25）Al_（25）（at.%） mechanically alloyed powder is deposited on carbon steel *** the coating process, the substrate is heated to temperature ranging from room temperature to 400℃. The microstructure, porosity, microhardness, adhesion strength, and corrosion behavior of the coating are investigated at different substrate temperatures. Results show that coating porosity is lower on high temperature surface. microhardness and adhesion strength of the deposition layer on the substrate without preheating have lower values than with preheating. The polarization test result shows that corrosion performance of the coating is dependent on micro cracks and porosities and the increasing of substrate temperature can improve the quality of coating and corrosion performance.

This work shows the synthesis,characterization and evaluation of dense-ceramic membranes made of Ce_(0.85)gd_(0.15)O_(2-δ)-LaNiO_(3)(Cg-LN)composites,where the fluorite-perovskite ratio(Cg:LN)was varied as follows:75:25,80:20 and 85:15 wt.%.Supports were initially characterized by Xrd,SEm and electrical conductivity(using vacuum and oxygen atmospheres),to determine the composition,microstructural and ionic-electronic conductivity ***,supports were infiltrated with an eutectic carbonates mixture,producing the corresponding dense dual-phase membranes,in which CO_(2)permeation tests were ***,CO_(2)permeation experiments were performed from 900 to 700℃,in the presence and absence of oxygen(flowed in the sweep membrane side).Results showed that these composites possess high CO_(2)permeation properties,where the O_(2)addition significantly improves the ionic conduction on the sweep membrane ***,the gC80-LN20 composition presented the best results due to the following physicochemical characteristics:high electronic and ionic conductivity,appropriate porosity,interconnected porous channels,as well as thermal and chemical stabilities between the composite support and carbonate phases.

Solving two-dimensional Volterra-Fredholm integral equations of the second kind by using Bernstein polynomials

In this paper, we present a numerical method for solving two-dimensional VolterraFredholm integral equations of the second kind（2DV-FK2）. Our method is based on approximating unknown function with Bernstein polynomials. We obtain an error bound for this method and employ the method on some numerical tests to show the efficiency of the method.

Kerosene-alumina nanofluid flow and heat transfer for cooling application

Kerosene-alumina nanofluid flow and heat transfer in the presence of magnetic field are studied. The basic partial differential equations are reduced to ordinary differential equations which are solved semi analytically using differential transformation method. Velocity and temperature profiles as well as the skin friction coefficient and the Nusselt number are determined analytically. The influence of pertinent parameters such as magnetic parameter, nanofluid volume fraction, viscosity parameter and Eckert number on the flow and heat transfer characteristics is discussed. Results indicate that skin friction coefficient decreases with increase of magnetic parameter, nanofluid volume fraction and viscosity parameter. Nusselt number increases with increase of magnetic parameter and nanofluid volume fraction while it decreases with increase of Eckert number and viscosity parameter.

Europium recovery process by means of polymeric nanoparticles functionalized with acrylic acid,curcumin and fumaramide

Polymeric nanoparticles of poly(methyl methacrylate) were obtained by emulsion polymerization techniques in a proce ss of two *** particles were functionalized with acrylic acid,curcumin,and fumaramide and three series of polymeric particles were *** incorporation of functional groups was confirmed by Fourier transform-infrared spectrosocopy(FT-IR) and ultraviolet-visible(UV-Vis) *** spherical morphology of particles with an average diameter of 100 nm was observed by scartning electron microscopy(SEm).The polymeric materials were used for recovery of [Eu]from synthetic *** nanoparticles show excellent chelation capacity to trap rare-earth ions,because they recover more than 85% of [Eu] at ph of *** images of SEm after extraction process show arrays between particles with larger average particle sizes to 1.5 *** addition,the particles have a good stripping capacity,exceeding 50% of it,maintaining their homogeneity in morphology and good stability in dispersion for the recovery and stripping processes.A pseudo-second model order is obtained for the extraction and stripping processes while the best results of stripping process are obtained at ph of6.
