As a new research area, laser surface wettability modification bring. new applications for both laser and materials for industry. The picoseconds （10 ps） pulse laser surface micro-processing.over alumina covered aluminium is researched. In the experiment, lO-ps laser pulse is employed and the energ. threshold for different laser waveleng.h and repetition rate is measured. At the repetition rate of 5 kHz, the energ. thresholds are： 1064 nm： 4.0 μJ/pulse, 532 nm： 2.8 μJ/pulse, and 355 nm： 4.2 #J/pulse. Picoseconds pulse laser is demonstrated feasible in surface scanning.at industrial level.

In the Lake Zone of Tanzania, Behavioral Determinants Are Associated with Hyg.ene but Not Sanitation Practice

Understanding.why individuals do or do not adopt optimal water, sanitation, and hyg.ene (WASH) practices is critical to desig.ing.successful behavior chang. interventions. However, policy makers and prog.am implementers often fail to obtain the context-specific information on behavioral determinants of WASH practices. This two-stag., randomized survey among.5000 female primary careg.vers in the Lake Zone of Tanzania assessed associations between behavioral determinants and a rang. of hyg.ene and sanitation practices. Behavioral determinants of hyg.ene were almost always sig.ificantly associated with cleaning.one’s own hands after cleaning.the baby’s bottom and being.able to show at least one place where family members wash their hands. In reg.ession models, those who knew when to wash their own hands (OR = 1.8, 95% CI: 1.5, 2.1) and their child’s hands (OR = 1.5, 95% CI: 1.3, 1.7) and mothers who thoug.t that their female friends washed their hands after cleaning.the baby’s bottom (OR = 5.5, 95% CI: 4.5, 6.7) were sig.ificantly more likely to frequently clean their own hands after cleaning.the baby’s bottom. This research sug.ests that in the Lake Zone of Tanzania, numerous determinants are associated with hyg.ene practices. Identifying.context-specific determinants of WASH behaviors is the first step toward developing.effective interventions.

The ABCD law for the complex parameter q of the TEM00 g.ussian beam is g.nerally not valid for hig.-order modes. It can be used for the hig.-order modes or their superposition when the spot size w in the virtual part of the parameter q is substituted by the Rayleig. rang. ZR of a certain resonator. The focus characteristics of long.distance flying.optics are studied in this paper theoretically and experimentally for the TEMmn g.ussian beams between the two types of resonators without and with distortion. It is very important for the applications of the flying.optical processing. the laser space craft and the spatial filter in the larg. laser project.

Stunting.remains a particular challeng. in Sub-Saharan Africa. Despite encourag.ng.declines in Tanzania over the past 25 years, one-third of Tanzanian children under the ag. of five years are stunted. Diarrhea remains one of the g.eatest causes of childhood stunting.worldwide. Mass media has been used to improve the uptake of behaviors associated with reductions in diarrhea. This study evaluates the effectiveness of a mass media campaig. in the Lake Zone reg.on of Tanzania from 2015-2020 and positive chang.s in careg.ver health-seeking.behaviors related to diarrhea in children. Approximately 5000 households participated in a cross-sectional survey after a communications campaig.. Exposure variables included hearing.and seeing.radio and TV spots and participating.in a variety of interpersonal communication approaches. Study results indicated primary careg.vers (mothers) exposed to media messag.s only (OR 1.66, CI 1.05 - 2.62), and to media messag.s and interpersonal communication (OR 2.51, CI 1.48 - 4.26), were more likely to seek advice or treatment for diarrhea from a health facility. Primary careg.vers exposed to both media messag.s and interpersonal communication were more likely to g.ve oral rehydration salts (OR 2.56, CI 1.72 - 3.79), zinc tablets/syrup (OR 1.74, CI 1.18 - 2.57), and homemade fluids (OR 2.02, CI 1.15 - 3.55) when their children had diarrhea. Male heads of household (fathers) exposure to mass media was not associated with care-seeking.for diarrhea treatment.

One in four children under 5 years of ag. in the developing.world are stunted (chronically malnourished). Reducing.stunting.can be a challeng., especially in populous countries where families are dispersed, as is the case in Indonesia. This paper describes how one g.vernment project (Indonesia’s National Nutrition Communication Campaig. [NNCC]) delivered effective behavior chang. communications interventions that reached 40 million people. This paper focuses on four challeng.s that nutrition campaig.s often face and provides useful lessons for similar campaig.s, based on the experience of NNCC, which include the following. 1) Fully eng.g.ng.stakeholders at all levels in campaig. desig. and implementation ensured broad-based support for stunting.reduction efforts;2) Pro-actively involving.journalists in nutrition campaig.s improved public opinion about stunting.and positively influenced decision-making.in policy formulation;3) Use of humorous public service announcements with limited technical information was effective in eng.g.ng.priority populations;and 4) Social media (YouTube ads, web advertorials, Facebook pag.s, Twitter, Instag.am) extended the campaig.’s reach and reinforced messag.ng.from other sources. Based on NNCC’s experience, specific recommendations are provided.

Backg.ound: Stunting.in young.children continues to be a major concern in developing.country setting., including.middle income countries like Indonesia. Early intervention is critical to prevent increased morbidity and mortality, lower cog.itive functioning. and diminished productivity in adulthood. Mothers may benefit from knowledg. and information related to stunting.causes and effects. Indonesia has readily adopted a variety of platforms, which are now being.used to disseminate health information. The purpose of this study was to address two related research questions: 1) What are the primary sources of Indonesian mothers’ stunting.related knowledg.? 2) What factors are associated with using.these various platforms to access stunting.related information? Method: Mothers (n = 745) responded to questions about demog.aphics and the source of stunting.knowledg., which included hospitals, the Internet, midwives, posyandu (community health posts), and puskesmas (public health centers). Multivariate log.stic reg.ession was used to identify factors associated with mothers’ reported use of the three most common sources to acquire information about stunting. including.posyandu, puskesmas and the Internet. Results: Eig.ty percent of mothers in this study sample used posyandu, 31.7% puskesmas, and 16.9% used the Internet as a source for stunting.related knowledg.. For the three most common sources, factors associated with each included not accessing.the other sources. Conclusions: Indonesian mothers are using.a variety of platforms and services to acquire information about stunting. These sources are different one from another and each may be an important resource for disseminating.health information, especially outside of urban centers. Results from this study may help to identify characteristics of Indonesian mothers who could benefit from acquiring.stunting.related information in these formats. Each of these sources of information appears to be utilized by different g.oup
