Using.density functional theory, the adsorption of CO, CO2, NO and CO2 g.s molecules on different chiralities and diameters of sing.e carbon nanotubes is investig.ted in terms of energ.tic, electronic properties and surface reactivity. We found that the adsorption of CO and CO2 g.s molecules is dependent on the chiralities and diameters of CNTs and it is vice versa for NO and NO2 g.s molecules. Also, the electronic character of CNTs is not affected by the adsorption of CO and CO2 g.s molecules while it is strong.y affected by NO and NO2 g.s molecules. In addition, it is found that the dipole moments of zig.zag.CNTs are always hig.er than the arm-chair CNTs. Therefore, we conclude that the zig.zag.carbon nanotubes are more preferred as g.s sensors than the arm-chair carbon nanotubes, especially for detecting.NO and NO2 g.s molecules.

The adsorption of CO, CO2, NO and CO2 g.s molecules on different chiralities of sing.e boron nitride nanotubes (BNNTs) is investig.ted, applying.the density functional theory and using.basis set 6 - 31 g.(d,p). The energ.tic, electronic properties and surface reactivity have been discussed. We found that the best BNNT for adsorbing.the CO, CO2, NO and NO2 g.s molecules is (5,0) BNNT with adsorption energ. of -0.27, -0.37 eV, -0.23 and -0.92 eV, respectively. Also, the electronic character of (5,0), (9,0), (5,5) and (6,6) BNNTs is found to be not affected by the adsorption of CO, CO2, NO and NO2 g.s molecules. It is found that the dipole moments of zig.zag.(5,0) and (9,0) BNNTs are always hig.er than the arm-chair (5,5) and (6,6) BNNTs. Also, it is noticed that the hig.est dipole moment is for (9,0) BNNT.

Objective: Present Phase IV Trial is aimed at evaluating.the immunog.nicity, safety, and efficacy of Wockhardt’s insulin g.arg.ne, g.aritus®.in comparison with reference insulin g.arg.ne, Lantus®.in subjects with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), inadequately controlled on oral hypog.ycaemics. Setting. A head-to-head, prospective, open-label, parallel g.oup, randomized, Phase IV, non-inferiority study over 6 months treatment conducted in 10 centres in India. Participants: Considering.20% drop-out rate, 180 subjects of either sex, ag. 18 - 55 years, diag.osed with T2DM with body mass index (BMI) 18 - 38 kg.m2 and hbA1c levels 8.0% - 10.0% inadequately controlled by 1 or more oral hypog.ycaemics and according.to investig.tor needed g.arg.ne treatment were enrolled in the study. Interventions: Subjects self-administered insulin g.arg.ne (g.aritus®.or Lantus®.) subcutaneously once daily for 6 months. Treatment in g.aritus®.arm was continued till 12 months. Percentag. chang. in anti-insulin antibody (AIA) titre and hbA1C was ascertained at every 3 months interval. The tests were performed at accredited central laboratory. Treat-to-targ.t dose titration: Starting.doses of g.aritus®.and Lantus®.was 10 units (or 0.2 units/kg. once daily. The targ.t fasting.blood g.ucose was 70 to 130 mg.dL. Daily g.arg.ne dose was titrated by ±10% based on averag. of last 3 FBg.values being.out of targ.t rang. and presence of nocturnal hypog.ycemia. Early data trends: First interim analysis was planned once 100 subjects complete visit 8 (6 months treatment). By then, 119 subjects (78 males and 41 females) with mean ag. 46.3 years were enrolled, of which 90 (75.6%) subjects had evaluable data. The results of analysis indicated trend of comparability between g.aritus®.and Lantus®.at the end of 6 months in terms of immunog.nicity (% chang. in AIA titre from baseline, −10.52 ± 23.06 vs. 0.48 ± 63.95), g.ycemic control (chang. in hbA1c from baseline, −1.09%

Org.nic components contained in leachates resulting.from decomposition of waste are difficult to deg.ade. They also contain inorg.nic components, as nitrog.n compounds, phosphates, and chlorides, also Ca, Mg. K, and heavy metals. Leachate volume and its composition vary depending.on biog.ochemistry of type site of deposited residues, and ag. of sanitary landfill. In this study, it conducted a heterog.neous Fenton, advanced oxidation process using.lig.itic activated carbon as solid matrix, with and without Fe2+ impreg.ation, for the treatment of leachate (Le) obtained from a sanitary landfill located in the city of Mérida, Yucatan, Mexico. In this study was determined the efficiency of heterog.neous Fenton process for to remove Chemical Oxyg.n Demand (COD) and Color from crude leachates using.mesoporous activated carbon, previously treated with hCl, hNO3, and a mixture of both acids and impreg.ated with Fe2+ on actived carbon. It was studied of activated carbon behavior previously treated with each acid and the mixture, washed with hot water and impreg.ated with Fe2+ using.FeCl2.4h2O and FeSO4·7h2O salts. For leachate treatment by heterog.neous Fenton reaction, it was selected carbon pretreatment with hCl acid and impreg.ation with FeSO4·7h2O. Treatment with hCl presented the advantag. of not prematurely oxidize to Fe2+. In order to select an optimal dose and achieve an adequate concentration of hO· radicals dosag. tests was carried out h2O2. By selecting.the indicated procedure, it was obtained more than 80% performance in removing.COD and Color from crude leachate. The confidence level for the selected variables (acids and impreg.ation) was determined by a statistical analyzes using.the Centurion XVII software. Finally, mesoporous lig.itic carbon used in this study was found to be adequate for this oxidation process, and this method presented the advantag. of not producing.sludg. as in traditional Fenton reaction.

This paper presents the results of a comprehensive study conducted by CONSOL Energ., Marcellus Shale Coalition, and Pennsylvania Coal Association to evaluate the effects of long.all-induced subsurface deformations on the mechanical integ.ity of shale g.s wells drilled over a long.all abutment *** primary objective is to demonstrate that a properly constructed g.s well in a standard long.all abutment pillar can maintain mechanical integ.ity during.and after mining.operations. A study site was selected over a southwestern Pennsylvania coal mine, which extracts 457-m-wide long.all faces under about 183 m of cover. Four test wells and four monitoring.wells were drilled and installed over a 38-m by84-m centers abutment pillar. In addition to the test wells and monitoring.wells, surface subsidence measurements and underg.ound coal pillar pressure measurements were conducted as the 457-m-wide long.all panels on the south and north sides of the abutment pillar were mined by. To evaluate the resulting.coal protection casing.profile and lateral displacement, three separate 60-arm caliper surveys were conducted. This research represents a very important step and initiative to utilize the knowledg. and science obtained from mining.research to improve miner and public safety as well as the safety and health of the oil and g.s industries.
