Honey is known for its medicinal benefits and receiving renewed attention as natural *** on health benefits of honey attributed its antioxidant activity to phenolic compounds,but the contribution of proteins and peptides to the antioxidant activity of honey is *** aim of this study was to explore the contribution of proteins and peptides to the antioxidant activity of honey,which remained obscure for *** honey proteins(THP)were isolated by dialysis method and hydrolyzed through simulated gastrointestinal *** hydrolysates were fractionated using size-exclusion *** antioxidant activity was determined by using superoxide radical-scavenging,DPPH reduction and intracellular ROS *** was shown to exhibit superoxide-scavenging activity but its pepsin-hydrolysate(HP-p)showed superior scavenging *** HP-p produced five peptide fractions(P1~P5)when fractionated on Sephacryl S-100 size-exclusion *** five fractions showed superoxide-scavenging activities and DPPH reducing activities,whereas the slow-eluting peptide fractions(P3 and P4)were the most ***-TOF/MS analysis identified a pentapeptide(TSNTF)as the dominant peptide in the active fractions P3 and *** colonic epithelial cells treated with P3 and P4 peptides exhibited lower intracellular ROS,when oxidative stress was induced by H2O2 or diethyl maleate(DEM),indicating strong tolerance to oxidative *** viabilities of human cells or yeast cells were largely decreases under oxidative stress,but treated cells with P3 and P4 showed higher viability compared with the untreated *** results are the first to describe a novel antioxidant peptide from honey that confer ex vivo anti-oxidative function within a complicated milieu of eukaryotic cells and pave the way for its potential as nutraceutical or therapeutic peptide for risk-reduction of oxidative-stress and related diseases.

BACKGROUND This case report addresses the dearth of effective therapeutic interventions for central nervous system metastases in patients with HER2-negative breast *** presents a unique case of a woman with estrogen receptor-positive,HER2-negative breast cancer who developed brain *** report highlights her initial favorable response to abemaciclib and letrozole therapy prior to the discon-tinuation due to drug-induced lung damage(DILD).CASE SUMMARY In this comprehensive case summary,we present the clinical course of a woman in her 60s,who 11 years following primary breast cancer surgery,was diagnosed with multiple brain *** a third-line systemic therapy,she underwent treatment with abemaciclib and *** treatment approach yielded a near-partial response in her metastatic brain ***,abemaciclib adminis-tration ceased due to the emergence of DILD,as confirmed by a computed tomography *** DILD improved after 1 mo of *** ongoing therapeutic efforts,the patient’s condition progressively deteriorated,ultimately resulting in death due to progression of the brain *** This case underscores the challenge of managing adverse events in responsive brain metastasis patients,given the scarcity of therapeutic options.

User-centric data sharing is essential to encourage citizens'active participation in the digital *** key to smart cities,a form of the digital economy,is the promotion of public use of citizen ***,it is not easy to utilize data without citizens’*** this study,we took a technological approach to these *** access(UMA)is a well-known framework for delegating resource access rights to others on the *** UMA,authorization mechanisms are designed to be centralized so that resource owners can centrally manage access rights for various resources stored in different ***,the lack of transparency in the authorization mechanism is a barrier to its implementation in large-scale systems such as smart *** this study,we developed a blockchain-based cross-domain authorization architecture that enables a resource-sharing ecosystem in which organizations that wish to utilize data can freely trade with each *** proposed architecture solves the transparency problem that conventional authorization systems have had by designing the authorization mechanism on blockchain *** implemented the proposed architecture as smart contracts and evaluated its processing *** resultant time required for delegating access rights and accessing resources was less than 500 ***,we found that the fluctuation in the processing time overhead was *** on these results,we concluded that performance degradation with the proposed architecture is minor.

We propose an on-demand multipath routing algorithm in a mobile ad hoc network for video transmission and evaluate its real world performance in video streaming application. There have been a number of multipath routing protocols extended from AODV which is a well-known single path routing protocol. Multipath routing protocols indicate good performance in the reduction of route discovery latency and unnecessary routing packets in simulations. We show that the route establishment using source route lists provided by us (Hu and Johnson, 2002) can reduce the route discovery latency, select stable routes automatically, and work well for live video streaming without limitation of the hop count based approaches. We evaluate this proposed method compared with the original AODV by using eight laptop PCs and demonstrate live streaming experiments.

Oscillatory combustion representative of thermo-acoustic instability in liquid rockets is simulated by experiment and LES calculation to investigate the flame behavior in *** particular,we focus on how the velocity and pressure fluctuations affect the behavior of the dense oxygen jet,or‘LOx core’.The test case investigated is a high pressure,multiinjector,oxygen-hydrogen combustor with a siren for acoustic ***,the LES calculation is validated by the resonant frequencies and average flame topology.A precise frequency correction is conducted to compare experiment with *** an unforced case,a pressure fluctuation case,and a velocity fluctuation case are *** can quantitatively reproduce the LOx core shortening and flattening that occurs under transverse velocity excitation as it is observed in the *** the other hand,the core behavior under pressure excitation is almost equal to the unforced case,and little shortening of the core *** LOx core flattening is explained by the pressure drop around an elliptical cylinder using the unsteady Bemoulli ***,it is shown that the shortening of the LOx core occurs because theflattening enhances combustion by mixing and increase of the flame surface area.

AIM:To investigate the possibility of shortening the duration of peginterferon(Peg-IFN)plus ribavirin(RBV) combination therapy by incorporating interferon-β (IFN-β)induction therapy. METHODS:A one treatment arm,cohort prospective study was conducted on seventy one *** patients were Japanese adults with genotype 1b chronic hepatitis C,HCV-RNA levels of≥5.0 Log IU/mL or 100 KIU/mL,and platelet counts of≥90 000/μ*** treatment regimen consisted of a 2 wk course of twicedaily administration of IFN-βfollowed by 24 wk PegIFN plus RBV combination *** prolonged the duration of the Peg-IFN plus RBV therapy to 48 wk if the patient requested it. RESULTS:The patients,including 44%males,were characterized by an median age of 63 years(range: 32-78 years),an median platelet count of 13.9(range: 9.1-30.6)×10 4 /μL,62%IFN-na?ve,and median HCV- RNA of 6.1(range:5.1-7.2)Log IU/*** sustained virologic response(SVR)rates were 34%(Peg-IFN:1-24 wk,n=61,95%confidence interval(CI): 24%-47%)and 55%(Peg-IFN:20-24 wk,n=31,95% CI:38%-71%,P<0.001;vs Peg-IFN:1-19 wk).TheSVR rate when the administration was discontinued early was 13%(Peg-IFN:1-19 wk,n=30,95%CI: 5%-30%),and that when the administration was prolonged was 50%(Peg-IFN:25-48 wk,n=10,95% CI:24%-76%,P<0.05;vs Peg-IFN:1-19 wk).In the patients who received 20-24 wk of Peg-IFN plus RBV,only the higher platelet count(≥130 000/μL) was significantly correlated with the SVR(odds ratio: 11.680,95%CI:2.3064-79.474,P=0.0024).In 45% (14/31)of the patients with a higher platelet count (≥130000/μL)before therapy,the HCV-RNA level decreased to below 3.3 Log IU/mL at the completion of IFN-β,and their SVR rate was 93%(13/14)after 20-24 wk administration of Peg-IFN plus RBV. CONCLUSION:These results suggest the possibilities of shortening the duration of Peg-IFN plus RBV combination therapy by actively reducing HCV-RNA levels using the IFN-βinduction regimen.
