This paper is devoted to the inverse design of strained graphene surfaces for the control of electrons in the semi-classical optical-like *** that charge carriers are described by the Dirac equation in curved-space and exploiting the fact that wave propagation can be described by ray-optics in this regime,a general computational strategy is proposed in order to find strain fields associated with a desired effective refractive index *** latter is first determined by solving semi-classical trajectories and by optimizing a chosen objective functional using a genetic ***,the graded refractive index corresponding to the strain field is obtained by using its connection to the metric component in isothermal *** coordinates are evaluated via numerical quasiconformal transformations by solving the Beltrami equation with a finite volume *** graphene surface deformation is finally optimized,also using a genetic algorithm,to reproduce the desired index of *** analytical results and numerical experiments are performed to illustrate the methodology.

This paper compares legal systems for water management in France and China, with a focus on integrated water resources management and regarding in particular the formulation of policies and their implemen- tation. The research shows that China has committed itself to the efficient management of water resources through the development of various policy tools during the current period. This commitment, however, has often been interrupted and distorted by politics, resulting in the neglect of socioeconomic and environmental priorities. France has developed a legislative framework and practical instruments to apply integrated water resources manage- ment at the river basin level since the 1960s. This experience and the current implementation of the european Water Framework Directive brings elements that can contribute to Chinese society meeting its water challenges.

Genes encoding enzymes involved in biosynthesis of very long chain fatty acids were significantly up-regulatedduring early cotton fiber development. Two cDNAs, GhKCR1 and GhKCR2 encoding putative cotton 3-ketoacyl-CoAreductases that catalyze the second step in fatty acid elongation, were isolated from developing cotton fibers. GhKCR1and 2 contain open reading frames of 963 bp and 924 bp encoding proteins of 320 and 307 amino acid residues,respectively. Quantatitive RT-PCR analysis showed that both these genes were highly preferentially expressed duringthe cotton fiber elongation period with much lower levels recovered from roots, stems and leaves. GhKCR1 and 2showed 30%-32% identity to Saccharomyces cerevisiae Ybr159p at the deduced amino acid level. These cotton cDNAswere cloned and expressed in yeast haploid ybr159w? mutant that was deficient in 3-ketoacyl-CoA reductase ***-type growth rate was restored in ybr159w? cells that expressed either GhKCR1 or 2. Further analysis showed thatGhKCR1 and 2 were co-sedimented within the membranous pellet fraction after high-speed centrifugation, similar to theyeast endoplasmic reticulum marker ScKar2p. Both GhKCR(s) showed NADPH-dependent 3-ketoacyl-CoA reductaseactivity in an in vitro assay system using palmitoyl-CoA and malonyl-CoA as substrates. Our results suggest thatGhKCR1 and 2 are functional orthologues of ScYbr159p.

The effects of melt composition,temperature and pressure on the solubility of fluorite(CaF2),i.e.,fluorine concentration in silicate melts in equilibrium with fluorite,are summarized in this *** authors present a statistic study based on experimental data in literature and propose a predictive model to estimate F concentration in melt at the saturation of fluorite(CFin melt^Fl-sat).The modeling indicates that the compositional effect of melt cations on the variation in can be expressed quantitatively as one parameter FSI(fluorite saturation index):FSI=(3Al^NM+Fe^2++6Mg+Ca+1.5Na-K)/(Si+Ti+Al^NF+Fe^3+),in which all cations are in mole,and Al^NF and Al^NM are A1 as network-forming and network-modifying cations,*** dependence of CFin melt^Fl-sat on FSI is regressed as:CFin melt^Fl-sat=1.130-2.014·exp(1000/T)+2.747·exp(P/T)+0.111·CmeltH2O+17.641·FSI,in which T is temperature in Kelvin,P is pressure in MPa,CmeltH2O is melt H2O content in wt.%,and CFin melt^Fl-sat is in wt.%(normalized to anhydrous basis).The reference dataset used to establish the expression for conditions within 540-1010℃,50-500 MPa,0-7 wt.%melt H2O content,0.4 to 1.7 for A/CNK,0.3 wt.%-7.0 wt.%for CFin melt^*** discrepancy of CFin melt^Fl-sat between calculated and measured values is less than±0.62 wt.%with a confidence interval of 95%.The expression of FSI and its effect on CFin melt^Fl-sat indicate that fluorine incorporation in silicate melts is largely controlled by bonding with network-modifying cations,favorably with Mg,Al^NM,Na,Ca and Fe^2+in a decreasing *** proposed model for predicting CFin melt^Fl-sat is also supported by our new experiments saturated with magmatic fluorite performed at 100-200 MPa and 800-900℃.The modeling of magma fractional crystallization emphasizes that the saturation of fluorite is dependent on both the compositions of primary magmas and their initial F contents.

Changing markets and evolving consumer demand present new challenges for the beef and sheep industries. In response, the industry has been investing in innovations to deliver new products and management systems to consumers. One such innovation is the Meat Standards Australia（MSA） system. This system is a Total Quality Management System, aimed at delivering an eating quality guarantee to consumers, and through this adding value to the entire supply chain. At present, it is well developed for beef and still evolving for sheepmeat. MSA has identified Critical Control Points（CCPs） in the production, pre-slaughter, processing and value-adding aspects of the supply chain that impact on consumer palatability through the large-scale taste testing of meat by untrained consumers. These CCPs are used as either（1） mandatory criteria determining eligibility for grading, and（2） inputs in a model predicting the palatability of individual combinations of muscle and different cooking methods. Through the prediction of palatability, MSA increases consumer satisfaction and is used to provide assurance for branded products and new marketing innovations in Australia and internationally. This has added significant value to the Australian beef industry, with several retail examples demonstrating consumer willingness to pay more for premium quality beef and sheepmeat products based on the MSA grading scores. This price differential at retail allows the value of the carcass to be calculated based on the eating quality as well as the volume produced, thereby delivering a financial reward for farmers producing high quality carcasses. The continuous quality scale of MSA allows producers to realise the financial gain of incremental improvements in quality, as well as the precise economic weights associated with traits such as marbling, ossification score, or breed. Over the last decade,we have been facing a new aetiology responsible for the development of HCC-the nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).The prevalence of HCC development in this group is higher than that observed in the general population and in non-cirrhotic subjects with other causes of liver *** ultrasound(US)is the first-line tool for HCC surveillance,but,in this population,it has a decreased diagnostic accuracy due to several particular features,including obesity and ***-enhanced ultrasound(CeUS)appeared as a new branch of US due to its ability to depict the vascular architecture of all types of focal lesions(FLs).Nevertheless,CeUS has several limitations besides those inherited from US,which renders this method unreliable as the first-line HCC diagnostic tool and for HCC *** intelligence eliminates operator limitations,which has led to an increased sensitivity and specificity of ***,this approach is still in its early stages and more data are ***,the purpose of the current study is to highlight the strengths and limits of US,along with its alternatives to HCC screening in NAFLD population.
