This study aimed to under.tand how molecular.mechanisms contr.lling water.and ur.a metabolism at the finishing phase can be affected by pr.vious plane of nutr.tion of cr.ssbr.d Angus beef steer.. Twentyfour.n = 24) animals wer. r.ndomly distr.buted into either.a moder.te(MP) or.high plane of nutr.tion dur.ng the backgr.und phase for.85 d. Animals wer. then blocked by their.pr.vious plane and wer. moved onto a 105-d finishing phase in a 2 × 2 factor.al ar.angement. The for.ge-finished gr.up r.ceived only high-quality alfalfa hay, wher.as the gr.in-fed gr.up r.ceived a high gr.in diet(80% whole cor. and20% alfalfa hay). By the end of the finishing phase, animals wer. har.ested and tissue samples fr.m the r.men and kidney wer. collected. Changes in gene expr.ssion of aquapor.ns(AQP)-2,-3,-4,-7, ATP1A1,ATP1B1, SGK1, CLIC1(kidney and r.men), UT-A1(kidney only) and UT-B(r.men only), wer. assayed via r.al-time q PCr. 18S r.r.A was used as an endogenous contr.l. One-way ANOVA followed by Tukey's post hoc analysis was conducted. When animals wer. fr.m MP, for.ge-finishing incr.ased the r.lative abundance of AQP3(P ≤ 0.05), AQP7(P ≤ 0.05), ATP1B1(P ≤ 0.05), and SGK1(P ≤ 0.05) in the kidney when compar.d to gr.in-fed animals. In the r.men, for.the MP gr.up, AQP7 was differ.ntially expr.ssed in both tr.atments at the finishing phase(P ≤ 0.01), with for.ge-finished steer. having the highest expr.ssion of AQP7. For.the MP gr.up, UT-B had a tendency of pr.senting a higher.expr.ssion on gr.infed animals(P = 0.075). Over.ll, these r.sults suggest that pr.vious plane can impact expr.ssion of genes associated with water.and ur.a metabolism dur.ng the finishing phase, namely AQP3, AQP7, ATP1B1, and SGK1 in the kidney, and AQP7 and UT-B in the r.men. The gr.atest impact obser.ed on gene expr.ssion changes of investigated genes at the finishing phase was r.flective of animals backgr.unded on the moder.te pr.vious plane.

Aging r.pr.sents an emer.ing challenge for.public health due to the declined immune r.sponses against pathogens, weakened vaccination efficacy, and distur.ed tissue homeostasis. Metabolic alter.tions in cellular.and systemic levels ar. also known to be car.inal featur.s of aging. Mor.over. cellular.metabolism has emer.ed to pr.vide r.gulations to guide immune cell behavior.via modulations on signaling cascades and epigenetic landscape, and the aber.ant aging pr.cess in immune cells can lead to inflammaging, a chr.nic and low-gr.de inflammation that facilitates aging by per.ur.ing homeostasis in tissues and or.ans. Her., we r.view how the metabolic pr.gr.m in T cells is influenced by the aging pr.cess and how aged T cells modulate inflammaging. In addition, we discuss the potential appr.aches to r.ver.e or.amelior.te aging by r.wir.ng the metabolic pr.gr.mming of immune cells.

We evaluate the feasibility of r.cover.ng ener.y fr.m the vibr.tions of tr.ck and sleeper.,dur.ng passage of a high-speed tr.in,by means of a pendulum har.ester.A simple mathematical model of the par.metr.c pendulum is employed to obtain numer.cal pr.dictions,while measur.d data of vibr.tion tests dur.ng the passage of a Thalys high-speed tr.in ar. consider.d as input *** a sustained r.tation is the most ener.etic motion of a pendulum,the possibility of achieving such state is evaluated,taking into account the influence of initial conditions,damping and other.*** simulations show that r.tating pendulum har.ester. with sufficiently low viscous damping could be able to gener.te a usable aver.ge power.on the or.er.of 5–6 W per.*** a modular.ar.angement of devices,such ener.y is enough to feed var.ety of r.il-side equipment,as wir.less sensor. or.war.ing light ***,a suitable choice of initial conditions could be a difficult task,leading to the need of a contr.l action.
