Petrogenesis of Granites from the Ediacaran socorro Batholith,sE Brazil:Constraints from Zircon Dating,Geochemistry and sr-Nd-Hf Isotopes

Whole rock elemental and sr-Nd isotope geochemistry and in situ zircon Hf isotope geochemistry were used to identify the sources of the Neoproterozoic granites from the socorro batholith,socorro-GuaxupéNappe(sGN),south Brasilia orogen,*** trace elements and Hf isotope geochemistry provided information about sources and crystallization(T,f_(o2))*** main types of granites built the bulk of the batholiths,beginning with probably pre-collisional~640–630 Ma charnockites,and ending with~610 Ma voluminous post-collisional high-K calc-alkaline(HKCA)Ⅰ-type granites(Bragan?a Paulista-type).several types of leucogranites were generated from 625 to 610 Ma,spanning the interval from collisional to post-collisional *** charnockite bodies occur in the study area:the~640 Ma socorro charnockite has remarkable chemical similarities with Braganca Paulista-type granites,but higherε_(Nd)(t)=-6.1 and average zirconε_(Hf)(t)=-9.1 and lower^(86)sr/^(87)sr_(t)(0.7093)values,indicative of more juvenile and water-poor ***~633 Ma Atibaia charnockite has distinct geochemical signature(lower Mg^(#)and sr content;higher Zr),more negativeε_(Nd)(t)=-14.1,similar average zirconε_(Hf)(t)=-8.9,and much higher^(86)sr/^(87)sr_(t)=0.7197,probably reflecting a larger component from old *** predominant~610 Ma Bragan?a Paulista-type granites were emplaced in a post-collisional setting,and correspond to porphyritic biotite-hornblende monzogranites of high-K calc-alkaline character with 61 wt.%–67 wt.%sio_(2),high Mg^(#)(39–42),sr/Y(19–40),La/Yb(12–69),highly negativeε_(Nd)(t)(-12.3 to-12.9)and zirconε_(Hf)(t)(-12 to-17)and^(87)sr/^(86)sr_(t)=0.7119–*** features are interpreted as indicative of magma generation in a thickened crust,where melts from enriched mantle sources emplaced in the lowermost crust,heated host old continental crust rocks(gneisses and granulites)and partially mixed with their melting *** plutons(sio_(2)>72 wt.%)occur

Global climate changes have increased temperatures,radiation indexes,and consequently,irregularities in rainfall in mainly tropical countries,considerably hindering plant establishment in recovering degraded *** objective of this study was to evaluate the growth and physiological characteristics of one species of each successional group:pioneer,secondary,and climax when subjected to different light intensities and hydrogel as a soil conditioner during rainy and dry *** experiment was conducted in the ecotone between Brazil’s two largest biomes,the Cerrado and the Amazon in the state of Maranh?*** parameters consisted of three species:Guazuma ulmifolia Lam.(pioneer),Astronium fraxinifolium schott(secondary),and Cariniana rubra Gardner ex Miers(climax).There were two light intensities:70%and 100%,and two planting conditions:with and without soil conditioner(hydrogel).Gas exchanges were higher during the rainy season;the pioneer and secondary species had greater heights and photosynthetic rates in the dry period;the climax species had the lowest gas exchange and lowest recovery as rainfall *** pioneer and secondary species showed higher physiological plasticity,denoting better adaption to environments with high *** improved the photosynthetic performance of these species in the dry season and in areas with 100%sunlight.

Among the impacts of climate change,there is the intensification of phenomena such as the El Niño south-ern oscillation(ENso)responsible for El Niño and La Niñ***,understanding their effects on the functional pro-cesses of forests is ***,this study evaluated the effects of ENso on litter stock and water holding capac-ity(WHC)in a successional forest in eastern *** occurred in periods with the most rainfall in El Niño(2019)and least in La Niña(2021)*** permanent plots were used to sample *** effects were evident for WHC,higher during El Niñ***,this influence was not clear for litter,as only in the rainy season effects were *** was a positive correlation of WHC with precipitation and humidity,while litter stocks were negatively correlated with temperature and wind *** the subject of this study requires long-term assessments,preliminary results suggests that,depending on the intensity of ENso,forest functional processes can be strongly impacted and *** conclusion reinforces warnings by the scientific community about the impacts of climate change on the maintenance of litter stocks,decomposition and,consequently,the biogeochemical cycle and essential ecosystem services for the maintenance of Amazonia *** need to develop long-term research to understand the effects of climatic change on litter stocks and water holding capacity is highlighted,especially in Amazonia.

Growth and nutrient accumulation of Brazil nut trees(Bertholletia excelsa) in agroforestry at different fertilizer levels

The Brazil nut tree（Bertholletia excelsa） is a frequent component of agroforestry systems in the Amazon because of its adaptation to nutrient-poor upland soils and multiple *** investigated the aboveground biomass production（kg dry weight）,nutrient uptake and requirements（N,P,Ca,Mg,K） of Brazil nut trees of different sizes grown under agroforestry conditions and fertilized at different *** of 70 experimental trees with different size were harvested and stem,branches and leaves were *** contents were determined for three trees of varying *** tree growth was fast,but variability was high,suggesting considerable potential for the improvement of this economically important *** trees responded to increased levels of fertilizer and lime with significantly increased foliar nutrient contents and growth,probably because of the improved availability of Mg and Ca for which the species seems to have a relatively high *** contrast to Brazil nut trees grown in forest or dense plantations,the agroforestry trees invested a substantial part of their biomass and nutrients in large branches and developed spreading *** improve stem form,reduce competition with associated crops for light and recycle nutrients,regular pruning of lower branches or planting arrangements that favor self-pruning are *** measures would also increase the recycling of Ca and Mg,large quantities of which are contained in the branches.

The bow wave generated by a ship hull that advances at constant speed in calm water is considered. The bow wave only depends on the shape of the ship bow （not on the hull geometry aft of the bow wave）. This basic property makes it possible to de- termine the bow waves generated by a canonical family of ship bows defined in terms of relatively few parameters. Fast ships with fine bows generate overturning bow waves that consist of detached thin sheets of water, which are mostly steady until they hit the main free surface and undergo turbulent breaking up and diffusion. However, slow ships with blunt bows create highly unsteady and turbulent breaking bow waves. These two alternative flow regimes are due to a nonlinear constraint related to the Bernoulli relation at the free surface. Recent results about the ove^urning and breaking bow wave regimes, and the boundary that divides these two basic flow regimes, are reviewed. Questions and conjectures about the energy of breaking ship bow waves, and free-surface effects on flow circulation, are also noted.

one of the most fascinating principles in quantum mechanics must be Heisenberg＇s uncertainty principle, which can be briefly stated as follows： every physicM observation cannot be precisely determined without some degree of error or uncertainty. And it is by no means can one use the principle within the limit of certainty region, as will be shown in this Letter. Two of the most important pillars in modern physics must be Einstein＇s relativity theory and schrsdinger＇s contribution to quantum mechanics. Yet, there is a profound connection between these discoveries by means of the uncertainty relationship, in which we shown that the observation of a high-speed object is conceivable if the speed of the observer keeps up with object＇s speed.

Considering the expansion of forest plantations over the Brazilian territory and the imminent increase in air temperatures due to global warming,the search for technologies that ensure high levels of productivity and high quality plants in clonal nurseries is *** kaolin-based particle films(KBPF)has been used as a physical barrier to reduce the negative effects of excessive solar radiation and adverse *** effects of KBPF on production and physiological quality of eucalyptus mini-cuttings were evaluated during two different seasons.A randomized block design was.us.d,consisting of five treatments and four *** concentrations(0,3%,5%,7%,and 10%)were tested here and six weekly replicates of each concentration was *** different kaolin concentrations and seasonal variations resulted in a quadratic response of the leaf sPAD reading during both daily evaluation *** applications resulted in a quadratic response of photochemical efficiency in the morning period,and an increasing specific leaf weight linear response,and during the dry season,the different kaolin concentrations resulted in a bud length quadratic *** results indicated that the kaolin application maintained the production and yield index statistically equal between weekly KBPF applications,improving photochemical efficiency,leaf thickness,sPAD reading,and bud *** use of KBPF could reduce the intervals between collections of mini-cuttings and increase nursery yields in environments that present high temperatures.

Can the Glucose Central Control system Dysfunctions Induce Diabetes Mellitus?

We study afresh how the glucose control system anomalies impact the organicity of the glucose homeostasis and build up events of persistent hyperglycemia and diabetes mellitus. We have used critically the state of art literature related to the subject, in order to cross, to compare, and to organize the relevant contents to create a logical and consistent support to the finds. We show that it is consistent to assume that persistent hyperglycemia and diabetes mellitus can have precursors not only in pancreas, but also in brain, mainly induced by noxious dysfunctions of hypothalamus sensor neurons circuits and external noxious elements, causing pancreas overload, and the consequent exhaustion—overburden.

In scenarios of climatic change when increased global temperatures can be expected,it is essential to search for technologies that favor sapling survival and growth after planting and increase yield in the ***-based particle films(KBPF)have been applied as barriers against the deleterious effects of high levels of solar *** objective of the present study was to assess the effects of applying purified calcined kaolin-based particle film to young eucalyptus *** treatments were carried out:0%(just water),3%,5%,7%,and 10%calcined kaolin applied to the adaxial part of the leaves.A complete randomized block design was.us.d with five treatments and ten *** plants were assessed for height,diameter at ground level,gas exchanges(net photosynthetic Co_(2) assimilation,stomatal conductance and transpiration),instantaneous(WUE)and intrinsic water use efficiency(IWUE),chlorophyll a fluorescence(maximum quantum yield of photosystem II(PsII)(Fv/Fm),concentration of active reaction centers in relation to the quantity of photons absorbed(RC/ABs)and the maximum ratio of quantum yields of photochemical and concurrent non-photochemical processes in PsII(Fv/F0),sPAD reading and leaf *** 3%KBPF concentration showed the best responses in biometric assessments 80 days after planting(DAP)and were corroborated by the responses of the leaf,stem and shoot dry matter production as a *** leaf ontogeny assessments showed positive responses following KBPF application when considering leaf development,with 7%KBPF concentration resulting in the highest mean *** mean specific leaf mass had negative response to high KBPF *** 60 DAP,the gas exchange variables during both assessment periods declined with an increase in KBPF *** differences as a result of KBPF applications were found only at the start of the assessments(34 DAP)for both WUE and for ***‘greenness’(sPAD reading)at 47 days showed a quadratic
