Financial time series prediction,whether for classification or regression,has been a heated research topic over the last *** traditional machine learning algorithms have experienced mediocre results,deep learning has largely contributed to the elevation of the prediction ***,the most up-to-date review of advanced machine learning techniques for financial time series prediction is still lacking,making it challenging for finance domain experts and relevant practitioners to determine which model potentially performs better,what techniques and components are involved,and how themodel can be designed and *** review article provides an overview of techniques,components and frameworks for financial time series prediction,with an emphasis on state-of-the-art deep learning models in the literature from2015 to 2023,including standalonemodels like convolutional neural networks(CNN)that are capable of extracting spatial dependencies within data,and long short-term memory(LSTM)that is designed for handling temporal dependencies;and hybrid models integrating CNN,LSTM,attention mechanism(AM)and other *** illustration and comparison purposes,models proposed in recent studies are mapped to relevant elements of a generalized framework comprised of input,output,feature extraction,prediction,and related *** the state-of-the-artmodels,hybrid models like CNNLSTMand CNN-LSTM-AM in general have been reported superior in performance to stand-alone models like the CNN-only *** remaining challenges have been discussed,including non-friendliness for finance domain experts,delayed prediction,domain knowledge negligence,lack of standards,and inability of real-time and highfrequency *** principal contributions of this paper are to provide a one-stop guide for both academia and industry to review,compare and summarize technologies and recent advances in this area,to facilitate smooth and informed implementation,and t

Acute symptomatic seizures are the main sign of neurological dysfunction in *** is linked to the unique characteristics of the neonatal brain,making it hyperexcitable compared to older ages,and to the common occurrence of some forms of acquired brain injury,namely hypoxic-ischemic *** this narrative review we will provide an overview of neonatal seizures definition,their main underlying etiologies,diagnostic work-up and differential diagnoses,and will discuss about therapeutic options and prognostic *** latest publications from the ILAE Task Force on Neonatal Seizures will be presented and *** note,they highlight the current lack of robust evidence in this field of clinical *** will also report on specificities pertaining to low-and-middle income countries in terms of incidence,main etiologies and *** possibilities offered by telemedicine and automated seizures detection will also be summarized in order to provide a framework for future directions in seizures diagnosis and management with a global *** challenges and opportunities for improving identification,monitoring and treatment of acute symptomatic seizures in newborns *** current caveats potentially represent different lines of research with the aim to provide better care and reach a deeper understanding of this important topic of neonatal neurology.

Comparing trends of crop and pasture in future land-use scenarios for climate change mitigation

Revegetation of former agricultural land is a key option for climate change mitigation and nature *** and abandonment of agricultural land is typically influenced by trends in diets and agricultural inten-sification,which are two key parameters in the Shared Socioeconomic Pathways(SSPs).Datasets mapping future land dynamics under different SSPs and climate change mitigation targets stem from different scenario assump-tions,land data and modelling *** study aims to determine the role that these three factors play in the estimates of the evolution of cropland and pastureland in future SSPs under different climate scenarios from four main datasets largely used in the climate and land surface *** datasets largely agree with the rep-resentation of cropland at present-day conditions,but the identification of pastureland is ambiguous and shows large discrepancies due to the lack of a unique land-use *** occur with future projections,even for the same SSP and climate *** for CO_(2)sequestration from revegetation of abandoned agri-cultural land and CO_(2)emissions from forest clearance due to agricultural expansion shows a net reduction in vegetation carbon stock for most SSPs considered,except ***,different datasets give differences in estimates,even when representative of the same *** SSP1,the cumulative increase in carbon stock until 2050 is 3.3 GtC for one dataset,and more than double for *** study calls for a common classifica-tion system with improved detection of pastureland to harmonize projections and reduce variability of outcomes in environmental studies.

Tax evasion and debt in a dynamic general equilibrium model

The literature has long analysed optimal taxation policies in economies where tax evasion is ***,very little has been produced on the relationship between public debt,tax evasion,and long-term economic *** this article,we investigate the relationship between sovereign debt sustainability and tax evasion by computing under which conditions the debt/GDP ratio is endogenously mean reverting in the context where tax evasion may increase the public debt and public expenditure is used to finance public and merit *** a log utility consumer,the level of tax evasion has no effect on the mean reverting conditions while the same is not true for more general functional ***,we conclude that allowing for tax evasion is not a suitable policy to make the debt/GDP ratio stable over time,especially in low-growth economies.

Developmental toxicity assessment of neonicotinoids and organophosphate esters with a human embryonic stem cell-and metabolism-based fast-screening model

In recent years,neonicotinoids(NEOs)and organophosphate esters(OPEs)have been widely used as substitutes for traditional pesticides and brominated fame-retardants,*** studies have shown that those compounds can be frequently detected in environmental and human samples,are able to penetrate the placental barrier,and are toxic to ***,it is reasonable to speculate that NEOs and OPEs may have potential adverse effects in humans,especially during *** employed a human embryonic stem cell differentiation-and liver S9 fraction metabolism-based fast screening model to assess the potential embryonic toxicity of those two types of *** show that four NEO and five OPE prototypes targeted mostly ectoderm specification,as neural ectoderm and neural crest genes were down-regulated,and surface ectoderm and placode markers *** liver S9 fraction's treatment could generally reduce the effects of the chemicals,except in a few specific instances,indicating the liver may detoxify NEOs and *** findings suggest that NEOs and OPEs interfere with human early embryonic development.

Good and bad dispositions between archaea and bacteria in the human gut:New insights from metagenomic survey and co-occurrence analysis

Archaea are an understudied component of the human *** this study,the gut archaeome and bacteriome of 60 healthy adults from different region were analyzed by whole-genome shotgun *** were ubiquitously found in a wide range of abundances,reaching up to 7.2%.The dominant archaeal phylum was Methanobacteriota,specifically the family Methanobacteriaceae,encompassing more than 50%of Archaea in 50 *** previously underestimated Thermoplasmatota,mostly composed of Methanomassiliicoccaceae,dominated in 10 subjects(>50%)and was present in all others except ***,the sole other archaeal phylum,occurred in negligible concentration,except for two samples(4.6-4.8%).This finding confirmed that the human gut archaeome is primarily composed of methanogenic organisms and among the known methanogenic pathway:i)hydrogenotrophic reduction of CO_(2) is the predominant,being the genus Methanobrevibacter and the species Methanobrevibacter smithii the most abundant in the majority of the samples;ii)the second pathway,that involved Methanomassiliicoccales,was the hydrogenotrophic reduction of methyl-compounds;iii)dismutation of acetate or methyl-compounds seemed to be ***-occurrence analysis allowed to unravel correlations between Archaea and Bacteria that shapes the overall structure of the microbial community,allowing to depict a clearer picture of the human gut archaeome.

The replacement of Li by Na in an analogue battery to the commercial Li-ion one appears a sustainable strategy to overcome the several concerns triggered by the increased demand for the electrochemical energy ***,the apparently simple change of the alkali metal represents a challenging step which requires notable and dedicated ***,we investigate herein the features of a NaFe_(0.6)Mn_(0.4)PO_(4)(NFMP)cathode with triphylite structure achieved from the conversion of a LiFe_(0.6)Mn_(0.4)PO_(4)(LFMP)olivine for application in Na-ion *** work initially characterizes the structure,morphology and performances in sodium cell of NFMP,achieving a maximum capacity exceeding 100 mAh g^(−1)at a temperature of 55℃,adequate rate capability,and suitable retention confirmed by ex-situ ***,the study compares in parallel key parameters of the NFMP and LFMP such as Na^(+)/Li^(+)ions diffusion,interfacial characteristics,and reaction mechanism in Na/Li cells using various electrochemical *** data reveal that relatively limited modifications of NFMP chemistry,structure and morphology compared to LFMP greatly impact the reaction mechanism,kinetics and electrochemical *** changes are ascribed to the different physical and chemical features of the two compounds,the slower mobility of Na^(+)with respect to Li^(+),and a more resistive electrode/electrolyte interphase of sodium compared with ***,the study reveals analogue trends of the charge transfer resistance and the ion diffusion coefficient in NFMP and LFMP during the electrochemical process in ***,the NFMP achieved herein is suggested as a possible candidate for application in a low-cost,efficient,and environmentally friendly Na-ion battery.
