Cardiovascular disease(CVD)has become one of the commonest causes of comorbidity and mortality among People living with human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)(PLWH)on antiretroviral therapy(ART).Nearly 50%of PLWH are likely to have an increased risk of developing CVD,including coronary heart disease,cerebrovascular disease,peripheral artery disease and aortic *** from the common risk factors,HIV infection itself and side effects of antiretroviral therapy contribute to the pathophysiology of this *** non-pharmacological therapies are currently being tested worldwide for this purpose,including eating patterns such as Intermittent fasting(IF).IF is a widespread practice gaining high level of interest in the scientific community due to its potential benefits such as improvement in serum lipids and lipoproteins,blood pressure(BP),platelet-derived growth factor AB,systemic inflammation,and carotid artery intima-media thickness among others cardiovascular *** review will focus on exploring the potential role of intermittent fasting as a non-pharmacological and cost-effective strategy in decreasing the burden of cardiovascular diseases among HIV patients on ART due to its intrinsic properties improving the main cardiovascular risk factors and modulating inflammatory pathways related to endothelial dysfunction,lipid peroxidation and *** fasting regimens need to be tested in clinical trials as an important,cost-effective,and revolutionary coadjutant of ART in the fight against the increased prevalence of cardiovascular disease in PLWH.

Continuous generating grinding has become an important gear processing method owing to its high efficiency and *** this study,an adaptive design model is proposed for the continuous generation of beveloid gears in common gear grinding *** on this model,a method for determining the installation position and grinding kinematics is developed alongside an analytical meshing model for grinding contact trace and derivation of key grinding *** combining these aspects,a general mathematical model for the continuous generation of beveloid gears is presented,comprising the entire grinding process from worm wheel dressing to the evaluation of grinding *** effects of the worm and dressing wheel parameters on the grinding deviation were analysed,facilitating the development of an approach to improve the grinding *** presented procedure represents a novel design method for the continuous generation of beveloid gears in common gear grinding machines,facilitating the appropriate selection of worm and dressing wheel parameters.

Energy-band engineering by 2D MXene doping for high-performance homojunction transistors and logic circuits

The homojunction based on Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) MXene-doped In_(2)O_(3) and indium oxide as the channel layer is real-ized in high-performance metal oxide thin film transistors(TFTs).Doping of MXene into In_(2)O_(3) results in n-type semiconductor behavior,realizing tunable work function of In_(2)O_(3) from 5.11 to 4.79 eV as MXene content increases from 0 to 2 wt.%.MXene-doped In_(2)O_(3)-based homojunction TFT presents optimal per-formance with electron mobilities of greater than 27.10 cm^(2)/(V s)at 240°C,far exceeding the maximum mobility of 3.91 cm^(2)/(V s)for single-layer In_(2)O_(3)*** improved performance originates from boosting of a two-dimensional electron gas(2DEG)formed at carefully engineered In_(2)O_(3)/MXene-doped In_(2)O_(3)ox-ide homojunction ***,the transformation in conduction mechanism leads to better stability of MXene-doped In_(2)O_(3) homojunction devices compared to undoped bilayer In_(2)O_(3).Low-frequency noise further illustrates that doping MXene into In_(2)O_(3) helps to reduce the device trap density,demonstrating excellent electrical performance.A resistor-loaded unipolar inverter based on In_(2)O_(3)/0.5%MXene-In_(2)O_(3)TFT has demonstrated full swing characteristics and a high gain of *** effective doping of MXene into constructed homojunction TFTs not only contributes to improved stability,but also provides an ef-fective strategy for designing novel homojunction TFTs for low-cost oxide-based electronics.

Autonomous materials discovery with desired properties is one of the ultimate goals for materials science,and the current studies have been focusing mostly on high-throughput screening based on density functional theory calculations and forward modeling of physical properties using machine *** the deep learning techniques,we have developed a generative model,which can predict distinct stable crystal structures by optimizing the formation energy in the latent *** is demonstrated that the optimization of physical properties can be integrated into the generative model as on-top screening or backward propagator,both with their own *** the generative models on the binary Bi-se system reveals that distinct crystal structures can be obtained covering the whole composition range,and the phases on the convex hull can be reproduced after the generated structures are fully relaxed to the *** method can be extended to multicomponent systems for multi-objective optimization,which paves the way to achieve the inverse design of materials with optimal properties.

Influence of oxygen partial pressure on properties of N-doped ZnO films deposited by magnetron sputtering

N-doped ZnO films were radio frequency(RF)sputtered on glass substrates and studied as a function of oxygen partial pressure(OPP)ranging from 3.0×10-4 to 9.5×10-3 Pa.X-ray diffraction patters confirmed the polycrystalline nature of the deposited *** crystalline structure is influenced by the variation of *** force microscopy analysis confirmed the agglomeration of the neighboring spherical grains with a sharp increase of root mean square(RMs)roughness when the OPP is increased above 1.4×10-3 Pa.X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis revealed that the incorporation of N content into the film is decreased with the increase of OPP,noticeably N 1s XPs peaks are hardly identified at 9.5×10-3 *** average visible transmittance(380-700 nm) is increased with the increase of OPP(from～17%to 70%),and the optical absorption edge shifts towards the shorter *** films deposited with low OPP(≤3.0×10-4 Pa)show n-type conductivity and those deposited with high OPP(≥9.0×10-4 Pa)are highly resistive(>105Ω·cm)

Paget’s disease(PDB)is a late-onset bone remodeling disorder with a broad spectrum of symptoms and *** of the most aggressive forms is caused by the P937R mutation in the ZNF687 *** the genetic involvement of ZNF687 in PDB has been extensively studied,the molecular mechanisms underlying this association remain ***,we describe the first Zfp687 knock-in mouse model and demonstrate that the mutation recapitulates the PDB phenotype,resulting in severely altered bone *** microcomputed tomography analysis,we observed that 8-month-old mutant mice showed a mainly osteolytic phase,with a significant decrease in the trabecular bone volume affecting the femurs and the ***,osteoblast activity was deregulated,producing disorganized ***,this phenotype became pervasive in 16-month-old mice,where osteoblast function overtook bone resorption,as highlighted by the presence of woven bone in histological analyses,consistent with the PDB ***,we detected osteophytes and intervertebral disc degeneration,outlining for the first time the link between osteoarthritis and PDB in a PDB mouse *** sequencing of wild-type and Zfp687 knockout RAW264.7 cells identified a set of genes involved in osteoclastogenesis potentially regulated by Zfp687,e.g.,Tspan7,Cpe,Vegfc,and Ggt1,confirming its role in this ***,in this mouse model,the mutation was also associated with a high penetrance of hepatocellular ***,this study established an essential role of Zfp687 in the regulation of bone remodeling,offering the potential to therapeutically treat PDB,and underlines the oncogenic potential of ZNF687.

Robotic wedge resection of a rare gastric perivascular epithelioid cell tumor: A case report

BACKGROUND Perivascular epithelioid cell tumor(PEComa) is a rare mesenchymal neoplasm that can arise in many different organs with a broad spectrum of biological behavior, from indolent to aggressive progression. Only ten cases of gastric PEComas have been reported in the English literature, which were treated with endoscopic, laparoscopic, or open resections. Due to its rarity, the optimal surgical management and prognosis of this tumor are still *** sUMMARY We present a case of robotic wedge resection of a 6.5 cm bleeding lesion of the gastric fundus located 3 cm below the esophago-gastric junction in a 55-year-old man. Biopsy revealed a malignant tumor with epithelioid cells focally positive for muscle markers desmin and smooth muscle actin. In addition, histology revealed that the tumor was positive for HMB-45, melan-A(MART-1), microphthalmia transcription factor and negative for pan-cytokeratin AE1/AE3, CD34, p40, DOG-1, CD117(c-kit), s100, CD3, CD79 a, caldesmon and myogenin. These markers suggested the possibility of a PEComa. The patient underwent a diagnostic laparoscopy via the da Vinci? si? system and robotic wedge resection. Final pathology confirmed a malignant gastric PEComa with negative margins. At his 11-mo follow-up visit, the patient remained *** Gastric PEComa can be treated with a robotic R0 resection with acceptable postoperative and short-term oncological outcomes.

Obstructive sleep Apnea syndrome (OsAs) is a respiratory sleep disorder characterized by repeated episodes of complete or partial obstruction of the upper airway. OsAs has a frequency of 4 percent and is classified according to the number of obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea episodes. The OsAs diagnostic path starts with the evaluation of the patient’s clinical framework and follows an instrumental procedure, depending on the clinical severity of the patient. Dental practitioners have the ability to intercept early on the signs and symptoms of OsAs. At the same time, they can assess whether the patient has the indications for treatment with specific oral devices (Oral Appliances, OA). The purpose of this paper is to provide guidance for dental management of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome in adult individuals.

Mechanisms of resistance to anti-epidermal growth factor receptor inhibitors in metastatic colorectal cancer

The prognosis of patients with metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) remain poor despite the impressive improvement of treatments observed over the last 20 years that led to an increase in median overall survival from 6 mo, with the only best supportive care, to approximately 30 mo with the introduction of active chemotherapy drugs and targeted agents. The monoclonal antibodies (moAbs) cetuximab and panitumumab, directed against the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), undoubtedly represent a major step forward in the treatment of mCRC, given the relevant efficacy in terms of progression-free survival, overall survival, response rate, and quality of life observed in several phase III clinical trials among different lines of treatment. However, the anti-EGFR moAbs were shown only to be effective in a subset of patients. For instance, KRAs and NRAs mutations have been identified as biomarkers of resistance to these drugs, improving the selection of patients who might derive a benefit from these treatments. Nevertheless, several other alterations might affect the response to these drugs, and unfortunately, even the responders eventually become resistant by developing secondary (or acquired) resistance in approximately 13-18 mo. several studies highlighted that the landscape of responsible alterations of both primary and acquired resistance to anti-EGFR drugs biochemically converge into MEK-ERK and PIK3CA-AKT pathways. In this review, we describe the currently known mechanisms of primary and acquired resistance to anti-EGFR moAbs together with the various strategies evaluated to prevent, overcame or revert them.
