Leveraging the interactions between ionomer and catalyst can increase the performance of proton exchangemembrane fuel *** impacts of the equivalent weight(EW)of perfluorosulfonic acid-based ionomers on the platinum group metal-free electrode structure and fuel cell performance have not been fully *** membrane electrode assemblies(MEAs)were prepared by using a commercial Fe-N-c catalyst,two perfluorosulfonic acid ionomers with different EWs,that is,Aquivion 720(A720)and Nafion 1100(N1100),and two ionomer-tocatalyst(I/c)*** four MEAswere characterized to understand the impact of the ionomer EW and content on the capacitance,proton conductivity,and mass transport on the *** mass transport resistance was measured for the first time using a new oxygen reduction reaction limiting current method enabling to couple the effects of oxygen diffusion with liquid water *** EW ionomer combined with a moderate I/c results in improved performance due to its enhanced proton ***,when used at high I/c,it can cause severewater flooding at high current density due to the enhanced liquid water uptake,especially at high relative humidity,resulting in lower catalyst utilization and higher mass transport resistance.

Electrochemical sensor investigation of carbon-supported PdcoAg multimetal catalysts using sugar-containing beverages

Novel PdcoAg/c nanostructures were suc-cessfully synthesized by the polyol method in order to develop electrocatalysts,related to the glucose sensor performance of the high glycemic index in *** characterization of this novel PdcoAg/c electrocatalyst was performed by X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,transmission clectron microscopy,and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy equipped with energy dispersive *** characterization results revealed that electronic state of the PdcoAg/c electro-catalyst was modified by the addition of the third *** electrochemical performances of the sensor were investigated by cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse *** prepared enzyme-free sensor exhibited excellent catalytic activity against glucose with a wide detection range(0.005 to 0.35 mmol·L^-1),low limit of detection(0.003 mmol·L^-1),high sensitivity(4156.34μA·mmol^-1·L·cm^-3),and long-term stability(10 days)because of the synergistic effect between the termary *** glucose contents of several energy drinks,fruit juices,and carbonated beverages were analyzed using the novel PdcoAgNGcE/c sensor *** results indicate the feasibility for applications in the foods industry.

Incidence and clinical presentation of portal vein thrombosis in cirrhotic patients

BAcKGROUND: Portal vein thrombosis (PVT) is due to many risk factors, but its pathogenesis is still not clearly understood. To identify the risk factors for PVT, we analyzed the clinical characteristics and complications associated with PVT in cir-rhotic patients. METHODS: We studied patients with liver cirrhosis who were admitted to our unit from April 2009 to December 2014. The patients were divided into the PVT and non-PVT groups, and were compared by variables including gender, age, the etiology of cirrhosis, stage of cirrhosis, complications, imaging, and treatment. RESULTS: PVT was found in 45 (9.8%) of 461 cirrhotic pa-tients admitted to our hospital. Most patients (45.9%) had hepatitis B virus (HBV)-related cirrhosis, with a similar dis-tribution of etiologies between the groups. However, there was no positive relationship between PVT and etiologies of cirrhosis. Most patients (71.5%) were in the stage of hepatic decompensation. No statistically signiifcant differences were found in complications including esophageal varices, ascites, and hepatic encephalopathy between the groups. However, there was a signiifcant positive correlation between hepatocel-lular carcinoma (Hcc) and PVT (Pccurred in the portal vein and/or portal branches, 37.8% were diagnosed on ultrasound. cONcLUSIONS: The incidence of PVT was 9.8%, mainly in patients with HBV-related cirrhosis. The development of PVT was associated with the severity of liver disease and Hcc.

Helvacioglu reproducibility index: a new algorithm to evaluate the effects of misalignments on the measurements of retinal nerve fiber layer by spectraldomain OcT

AIMTo evaluate the effect of misalignment on the measurements of retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) by spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (OcT).METHODSA total of 42 eyes from 21 healthy young subjects underwent RNFL measurements with RTVue spectral-domain OcT (Optovue Inc., Fremont, california, USA). Two baseline measurements with perfectly aligned central circle to the borders of the optic nerve and four misaligned measurements which were misaligned towards to four quadrants were taken. The differences in RNFL between the baseline and misaligned measurements were analyzed with a new algorithm called Helvacioglu reproducibility index (HRI) which is designed to measure the reproducibility of the scans by evaluating the RNFL changes in the four main *** average RNFL scores of the first two baseline measurements have good correlation (c=0.930) and good reproducibility scores (0.15±0.07). Superior misaligned measurements had significantly lower superior quadrant score and higher inferior quadrant score, similar nasal and little higher temporal scores (P1, P2<0.001, P3=0.553, P4=0.001). Inferior misaligned measurements had significantly higher superior quadrant score and lower inferior quadrant score with similar temporal and little lower nasal scores (P1, P2<0.001, P3=0.315, P4=0.016). Nasal misaligned measurements had significantly higher temporal quadrant score and lower nasal quadrant score with little lower superior and inferior scores (P1, P2, P4<0.001, P3=0.005). Temporal misaligned measurements had significantly higher nasal quadrant score and lower temporal quadrant score with similar superior and little higher inferior scores (P1, P2<0.001, P3=0.943, P4=0.001).cONcLUSIONGood alignment of the central circle to the borders of optic nerve is crucial to have correct and repeatable RNFL measurements. Misalignment to a quadrant resulted in falsely low readings at that quadrant and falsely high readings

Intramedullary Spinal cord Glioma Following Microinjection of Glioblastoma cell Line c6 in Rats

Background: This paper describes the establishment of a rat intramedullary spinal cord tumor (IMScT) model and histopathological characterization of the tumor model. Methods: Fourteen male Wistar rats were randomized into two groups. The rats in group 1 (control group, n = 7) received a 5 μl intramedullary injection of serum physiologic (SF). Those in group 2 (experimental group, n= 7) received a 5 μl intramedullary implantation of media containing 5 × 105 c6 glioma cells. The animals were sacrificed for histopathological examination at 21 days. Results: The control group showed normal functional and histopathological findings. The group 2 rats implanted with c6 glioblastoma cells developed hind-limb paraplegia. Pathological sections confirmed intramedullary c6 glioblastoma invading the spinal cord. conclusions: A rat c6 IMScT model was successfully established. This model may be useful in increasing understanding of intramedullary spinal cord gliomas in humans.

用三氯醋酸-丽春红-s法(TAc-PS法)和醋酸-丽春红S法(Ac-PS法)测定尿和脑脊液中蛋白质的含量;改进了 Michael等法。探讨了标准曲线、回收试验、日内变异系数、显色后稳定性及干扰因素等。用上述方法检测32例正常人新鲜尿、20份病人尿液及 22份病人脑脊液标本。两种方法的结果均无统计学差异。实验证明此二法有其优越性,可同时测定尿及脑脊液蛋白质。

Turkish validity and reliability of the Diabetes Self-Efficacy Scale

Purpose:The aim of this methodological study was to determine the validity and reliability of the Diabetes Self-Efficacy Scale adapted to the Turkish ***:The study sample was completed with 319 patients who had been diagnosed at least 1 year before and hospitalized in the Malatya Turgut Ozal Health center and Malatya State Hospital in Turkey.A questionnaire that consists of items on sociodemographic characteristics,drug use and information about the disease of patients and the Diabetes Self-Efficacy Scale were used for data collection in the *** reliability analysis of the scale,the cronbach'sαcoefficient was calculated and item analysis method was *** analysis was used for the construct validity,and Principal component Analysis and Varimax Rotation method were used for analyzing the factor ***:According to data obtained in the study,item-total correlation of the items of the scale was found to be at an adequate level(0.297-0.803).The scale's cronbach'sαreliability coefficient was found to be 0.86,and there was one factor that explains 52.38%of the total variance with an eigenvalue was greater than *** a result of the analysis,the factor loadings of the items of the scale were found to bebetween 0.59 and ***:Diabetes Self-Efficacy Scale is a valid and reliable instrument for determining the self-efficacy of patients and providing a proper *** can be suggested to investigate and evaluate the consistency of the scale by applying it to broader sample groups representing different socioeconomic levels.
