The energy-savings of four hypothetical households in different climatic regions of turkey were calculated via a nonlinear mixed integer optimization *** ideal insulation material,its optimum thickness,and the ideal window type were *** standard degree days method was used with five different base temperatures for heating and five different base temperatures for *** climatic conditions of the region,the properties of the insulation options,the unit price of fuel and electricity and the base temperature are used as model inputs,whereas the combination of selected insulation material with its optimum thickness and window type are given as model *** Wool was found to be the ideal wall insulation material in all *** optimum window type was found to depend on the heating or cooling requirements of the house,as well as the lifetime of *** region where the energy saving actions are deemed most feasible has been identified as Erzurum(Region 4),followed by Antalya(Region 1).Finally,the effect of changing the base temperature on energy savings was investigated and the results showed that an approximate average increase of$15/℃ in annual savings is *** model can be used by any prospective home-owner who would like to maximize their energy savings.

This study has been undertaken to develop a consumer-oriented feasibility method for a hybrid photovoltaic(PV)-battery energy storage(BES)system by analyzing a real life house in Istanbul,turkey,as a case *** hourly electricity demand of the house was estimated by carrying out a detailed survey of the life style and daily habits of the *** algorithm of any kind was used for the estimation of the energy demand with the exception of relating the lighting requirement to the daylight hours and the heating and cooling requirements to the seasonal weather *** developed method estimates the annual demand with an overall error of 8.68%.The net grid dependency and the feasibility of the PV-BES system was calculated for different combinations of PV and BES system *** was found that when the maximum available roof area is used for PV installation and when the BES system size is increased,it is possible to achieve almost zero net grid dependency,and it is estimated that houses that are in regions with more abundant solar radiation and/or with lower annual electricity consumption,can reach zero net grid ***,the feasibility indicator,which is the payback period,turned out to be no less than 25 years in any of the *** reasons for the infeasibility are the high prices of PV and BES systems as well as the current restriction in the regula-tions in turkey,which prevents BES system owners from participating in unlicensed energy generation schemes and selling excess electricity back to the *** order to overcome this situation,regulations should be updated to allow BES system owners to benefit from feed-in-tariff schemes,thereby increasing the popularity of both PV and BES usage in turkey.

Background:After renal trauma,surgical treatment is vital,but sometimes there may be loss of function due to *** study aimed to evaluate the effect of autologous omentum flaps on injured renal tissues in a rat ***:A total of 30 Wistar albino rats were included and randomly divided equally into a control group and four intervention *** renal injuries were repaired using a surgical technique(primary repair 1 group and primary repair 2 group)or transposition of the autologous omentum(omentum repair 1 group and omentum repair 2 group).Blood samples were taken preoperatively and on the 1st and 7th postoperative days in all groups and on the 18th postoperative day in the control and two intervention *** rats were sacrificed on the 7th or 18th day postoperatively,and their right kidneys were taken for histopathological ***:The mean urea level significantly decreased from day 1 to day 7 and from day 1 to day 18 in the omentum repair 2 group(P=0.005 and P=0.004,respectively).There were no other significant changes in urea or creatinine levels within the intervention groups(P>0.05).There was no significant correlation between the urea and creatinine levels and the histological scores(P>0.05).The primary repair 1 and 2 groups had significantly higher median granulation and inflammation scores in the kidney specimen than the control and omentum repair groups(Ptum repair 2 group had significantly lower median granulation and inflammation scores in the surrounding tissues than the primary repair 2 group(Pg process in the kidney specimen was significantly higher in the omentum repair groups than in the primary repair groups(Ptum repair 2 group had significantly lower median granulation and inflammation scores in the surrounding tissues than the primary repair 2 group(Pgranulation degree in the kidney specimen was strongly and positively correlated

Anaerobic digestion(AD)as a waste management method has the potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions while pro-ducing renewable energy,making it a viable option for managing the organic fraction of municipal solid waste(OFMSW).OFMSW characteristics can vary depending on factors such as waste source,composition and separation *** charac-teristics of OFMSW are critical for analyzing and monitoring the AD process to optimize biogas *** this study,the waste composition and physicochemical characteristics of the mechanically separated OFMSW(ms-OFMSW)were determined at a full-scale AD plant in *** ms-OFMSW samples were collected monthly after mechanical separation and were subsequently sent to the anaerobic *** composition and physicochemical characteristics of the samples were determined by manual *** results showed that the majority of the ms-OFMSW(76.45%±1.71%)was organic,while 8.99%±1.56%was recyclable and 14.56%±1.69%was *** of environmental benefits for the recyclable materials was determined using a free online tool provided by Environmental Protection ***(399.7 gJ)and plas-tics(403.7 gJ)both saved nearly the same amount of energy while metals saved the most water(421.8 m3),with the greatest positive *** benefits ranged from 3 tons to 40 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent for each waste *** findings suggest that efficient pre-separation units can improve the anaerobic digestibility of OFMSW,while also providing greater environmental benefits by preventing recyclable waste from the anaerobic *** addition to encouraging source separation applications,this study demonstrates the need for improved technologies to separate OFMSW from mixed MSW.

The present paper explains the temperature attribute of a convective-radiative rectangular profiled annular fin with the impact of magnetic *** effect of thermal radiation,convection,and magnetic field on thermal stress distribution is also studied in this *** governing energy equation representing the steady-state heat conduction,convection,and radiation process is transformed into its dimensionless nonlinear ordinary differential equation(ODE)with corresponding boundary conditions using non-dimensional *** obtained ODE is then solved analytically by employing the Pade approximant-differential transform method(DTM)and modified residual power series method(MRPSM).Moreover,the important characteristics of the temperature field,the thermal stress,and the impact of some nondimensional parameters are inspected graphically,and a physical explanation is provided to aid in *** significant findings of the investigation reveal that temperature distribution enhances with an increase in the magnitude of the heat generation parameter and thermal conductivity parameter,but it gradually decreases with an increment of convectiveconductive parameter,Hartmann number,and radiative-conductive *** thermal stress distribution of the fin varies considerably in the applied magnetic field effect.

AIM： To evaluate the impact of liver steatosis upon response to given therapy in chronic hepatitis B （CriB） ***： 84 consecutive Crib patients treated with 48-wk PEgylated interferon （PEg-IFN） therapy were enrolled. Baseline characteristics and sustained viral re- sponse （SVR） to PEg-IFN therapy were ***： Mean body mass index （BMI） was 27.36 ±4.4 kg/m2. Six （7.1%） had hypertension and three （3.5%） had diabetes mellitus. Steatosis was present in 22.6% （19/84） of liver biopsy samples. Age, BMI, and triglyceride levels of the patients with hepatic steatosis were significantly higher than those without hepatic steatosis （P 〈 0.05）. SVR to PEg-IFN therapy was 21.4% （18/84）. Sixteen of these 18 CriB patients with SVR （88.9%） did not have any histopathologically determined steatosis. On the other hand, only two of the 19 CriB patients with hepatic steatosis had SVR （10.5%）. Although the SVR rate observed in patients without steatosis （16/65, 24.6%） was higher compared to those with steatosis （2/19, 10.5%）, the difference was not statistically significant （P 〉 0.05）.CONCLUSION： Occurrence of hepatic steatosis is significantly high in CHB patients and this association leads to a trend of decreased, but statistically insignificant, SVR rates to PEg-IFN treatment,

Analysis and Characterization of Isopropyl Carbanilate Herbicide and Its Photoproducts

The phototransformation of the herbicide Isopropyl carbanilate (IPC) has been investigated under UV light. Irradiation of the herbicide at room temperature in aqueous and organic solvents such as hexane and methanol afforded new photo-products formed as a consequence of various processes including photo-Fries rearrangement, ring solvolysis, hydrolysis of the amide/carbamoyl and ester bonds, ring coupling and polymerization. The percentage remaining of the herbicide as a function of time was followed periodically starting from zero time up to three hours. Analyses were performed by gC-FID equipped with a semipolar glass column operated at 170?C. The rate of photo disappearance of IPC under controlled lab condition followed 1st order kinetics and found to be solvent dependent in the manner of non polar > polar solvents. The photo-products were successfully separated by gC and preparative TLC (Silica gel F-254) and were identified using either gC-MS and/or MS. Identifications were assigned on the bases of molecular ions, mass fragmentation pattern and whenever possible by comparison with the mass spectra of literature analogues.

Abdominal cocoon syndrome is a rare cause of intestinal obstruction with unknown etiology. Diagnosis of this syndrome, which can be summarized as the small intestine being surrounded by a fibrous capsule not containing the mesothelium, is difficult in the preoperative period. A 47-year-old male patient was referred to the emergency department with complaints of abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting for two days. The abdominal computed tomography examination detected dilated small intestinal loops containing air-fluid levels clustered in the left upper quadrant of the abdomen and surrounded by a thick, saclike, contrast-enhanced membrane. During exploratory surgery, a capsular structure was identified in the upper left quadrant with a regular surface that was solid-fibrous in nature. Ab-dominal cocoon syndrome is a rarely seen condition, for which the preoperative diagnosis is difficult. The combination of physical examination and radiological signs, and the knowledge of "recurrent characteristics of the complaints" that can be learned by a careful history, may be helpful in diagnosis.

Human has different stages in their life as from babyhood to adult. The healthy and balanced diet preferences of people play an important role in each human life parts. Especially milk and dairy products are necessary for human health because of their nutrition value and body functions. One of the parts of people life is university life. Starting university is a turning point in terms of eating habits, since food choices responsibility of university students increases in this period. According to the researches, increasing availability of fast foods, changes in living arrangements, life experiences, expectations, preferences and beliefs related with food selections are most common reasons regarding dietary choices in this young adults group. University students had drinking milk habits in primary school but most of them lose their habits during university life. The students＇ first preferences were cheese and then yogurt and finally milk. A very little part of university students consume milk and dairy products regularly. The consumption habits and milk and dairy product catering of university students were examined. The consumption preferences of milk and dairy products of the students in different Universities are reviewed in this review.
