Accuracy of Cardiogoniometry in Diagnosis of Coronary Artery Disease in Patients with Angina Pectoris

Background: Cardiogoniometry (CGM) is a novel non-invasive technique for quantitative three-dimensional vectorial analysis of myocardial depolarization and repolarization. We aimed to determine the diagnostic value of cardiogoniometry for the identification of coronary artery disease (CAD) in patients with history of chest pain. Materials and Methods: Cardiogoniometry was performed in 190 patients with history of chest pain prior to diagnostic coronary angiography. Then cardiogoniometry parameters correlated with angiography findings to determine accuracy of cardiogoniometry for diagnose of CAD. Result: Cardiogoniometry showed a sensitivity of 72% and a specificity of 60%, which was less sensitive than perfusion scan but more sensitive than the ECG and comparable with exercise ECG. The specificity was less than these three methods. Conclusions: Cardiogoniometry is a new, noninvasive method which is helpful in identifying patients with coronary artery disease and can be performed at rest and free of risk such as radiation exposure, and also is suitable for patients who are not able to exercise.

Transradial angiography procedure approach in with and without radial artery anomalies

Introduction: The transradial coronary angiography has several benefits such as the reducetion in access site complications especially in fully anticoagulated patients. The presence of arterial anomalies in upper limb arteries has an important role in procedural success. Methods: retrograde transarterial sheath injection was done in patients with transradial coronary angiography. Arterial anomalies in the upper limb evaluated. Cannulation time, the time of catheter passage to ascending aorta, and Angiographic time, were also meseared. Results: in 2011, 165 consecutive patients were studied, 116 (70.3%) male, age 56.7 ± 11.1 years. With 96.6% success rate in procedure, totally 59 anomolies were observed in 44 patients (26.7%). Radial artery by itself had ?25 anomalies (15.1%). The most frequent anomaly was abnormal origin of radial artery in 14 patients (8.5%) followed by tortuosities in 10 ulnar (6%). 9 brachial (5.4%), 7 radial (4/2%), 5 subclavian (3%) and 3 brachiocephalic arteries (1.8%). There also were 4 loops in ulnar artery (2.4%) and one in radial and brachinl arteries (each 0.6%). Other anomalies include 4 patients (2.4%), except cannulation time (p = 0.97), there were associations between anomalies and each of other times (p = 0.001) and contrast volume (p = 0.009). Anomalies didn’t have any effect on procedural success rate and just in one patient with sulclavian loop procedure changed to femoral approach (p = 0.19).

Aim: The aim of this study was to determine the effect of training on endothelium-dependent vasodilatation in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) after revascularization and healthy young men. Background: Impaired endothelial function has been observed in patients with CAD and those with CAD risk factors. Studies have shown that exercise can enhance endothelial function. Methods: This experimental cross-sectional study was conducted on patients with CAD (3 months after CABG and PCI) and students of medical school in 2011. Endothelium dependent dilation of the brachial artery was determined by using high-resolution vascular ultrasonography through flow-mediated vasodilatation (FMD) after induction of ischemia, and the data were analyzed using SPSS, dependent t-test and ANCOVA. Findings: The findings showed that at baseline, FMD was reduced in revascularized patients, when compared with healthy young men, after 8 weeks, and exercise training significantly improved FMD in patients underwent training group [from 4.31 ± 1.45 (SD)% to 6.15 ± 0.773 (SD)%, p p ed unchanged, and even after aerobic training, it did not significantly modify the brachial artery diameter in these groups. Conclusion: Our study demonstrates that endothelial dysfunction persisting in CAD patients after revascularization and aerobic training can improve endothelial function in different vascular beds in CAD patients and healthy young men. This may contribute to the benefit of regular exercise in preventing and restricting cardiovascular disease.

AIM:To identify topographic determinants of the anterior chamber angle(ACA)in patients with keratoconus(KCN).METHODS:Four hundred and ten eyes of 294 patients with KCN were recruited for this ***,complete ocular examinations were performed for all patients,including visual acuity measurement,refraction,and slit-lamp ***,all participants underwent corneal imaging by the Oculus Pentacam ***:The mean age of the participants was 32.40±8.52y(15-60y)and 69.5%of them were *** mean ACA was 38.47°±5.75°(range:14.40°to 56.50°)in the whole sample,38.24°±6.00°in males,and 38.98°±5.11°in females(P=0.447).The mean ACA was significantly different among different groups of cone morphology,as patients with nipple cones showed the lowest mean ***,there were statistically significant differences in the mean ACA among different groups of cone locations,with patients having central cones exhibiting the lowest mean ACA(P<0.001).Anterior and posterior Q values were significantly,directly correlated with ACA(anterior Q:r=0.122,P=0.014,posterior Q:r=0.192,P<0.001).CONCLUSION:This study provides critical insights into the risk factors for ACA narrowing in KCN patients,which is essential for planning intraocular *** with nipple and central cones exhibited the most significant ACA ***,more negative Q-values are associated with increased ACA narrowing,highlighting the need for targeted diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.

Domaining is a crucial process in geostatistics, particularly when significant spatial variations are observed within a site, as these variations can significantly affect the outcomes of spatial modeling. This study investigates the application of hard and fuzzy clustering algorithms for domain delineation, using geological and geochemical data from two exploration campaigns at the eastern Kahang deposit in central Iran. The dataset includes geological layers (lithology, alteration, and mineral zones), geochemical layers (Cu, Mo, Ag, and Au grades), and borehole coordinates. Six clustering algorithms—K-means, hierarchical, affinity propagation, self-organizing map (SOM), fuzzy C-means, and Gustafson-Kessel—were applied to determine the optimal number of clusters, which ranged from 3 to 4. The fuzziness and weighting parameters were found to range from 1.1 to 1.3 and 0.1 to 0.3, respectively, based on the evaluation of various hard and fuzzy cluster validity indices. Directional variograms were computed to assess spatial anisotropy, and the anisotropy ellipsoid for each domain was defined to identify the model with the highest level of anisotropic discrimination among the domains. The SOM algorithm, which incorporated both qualitative and quantitative data, produced the best model, resulting in the identification of three distinct domains. These findings underscore the effectiveness of combining clustering techniques with variogram analysis for accurate domain delineation in geostatistical modeling.

Given that energy costs are a significant component of overall processing costs in mineral plants, reducing these costs through process optimization or technology adoption enhances the technical and financial feasibility of a deposit. Geometallurgical modeling plays a key role in understanding the relationship between material characteristics, mine planning, and processing stages, ultimately contributing to more efficient resource management and cost reduction in mineral processing. This study aims to develop a block model for evaluating comminution energy consumption (CEC) and identifying blocks with the highest energy usage potential during the grinding process in a specified region. Therefore, by applying advanced geostatistical techniques, including joint estimation and simulation based on geometallurgical data from multiple mineral processing stages, we predict CEC across the study area. The dataset encompasses 2.754 drill samples and a block model with 4.680 blocks. In this effort, imulation techniques, such as Plurigaussian and Turning Bands, provided more realistic outcomes than cokriging, considering the unique characteristics of geometallurgical data and the limitations of kriging methods.

Asphaltene precipitation can cause serious problems in petroleum industry while diagnosing the asphaltene stability conditions in crude oil system is still a challenge and has been subject of many *** monitor and diagnose asphaltene stability,high performance intelligent approaches based bio-inspired science like artificial neural network which have been optimized by various optimization techniques have been carried *** main purpose of the implemented optimization algorithms is to decide high accurate interconnected weights of proposed neural network *** proposed intelligent approaches are examined by using extensive experimental data reported in open ***,to highlight robustness and precision of the addressed approaches,two different regression models have been developed and results obtained from the aforementioned intelligent models and regression approaches are compared with the corresponding refractive index data measured in *** on the results,hybrid of genetic algorithm and particle swarm optimization have high performance and average relative absolute deviation between the model outputs and the relevant experimental data was found to be less than 0.2%.Routs from this work indicate that implication of HGAPSO-ANN in monitoring refractive index can lead to more reliable estimation of addressed issue which can lead to design of more reliable phase behavior simulation and further plans of oil production.
