Objective:Duphaston is used as an alternative to gonadotropin-releasing hormone(GnRH)antagonists for suppressing premature luteinizing hormone(LH)*** study aimed to compare the efficacy of Duphaston protocols with that of Cetrotide in suppressing the LH ***:In this retrospective cross-sectional study,669 infertile women(aged 25-40 years)were administered recombinant follicle-stimulating hormone(rFSH)from the third day of their menstrual *** the follicular diameter reached 13 to 14 mm,Cetrotide was prescribed orally to the control subjects,also case subjects took Duphaston *** retrieved oocytes were fertilized by an intracytoplasmic sperm injection(ICSI).Results:The levels of FSH,LH,and estradiol did not differ significantly between the groups(P>0.05).However,the findings indicated that Duphaston led to greater oocyte retrieval than Cetrotide(P=0.006).However,the number of mature oocytes and viable embryos in the case subjects did not reach a significant difference compared to that in the control subjects(P>0.05).The number of good-quality embryos(stage 1)was significantly higher in the case subjects(P=0.04).In addition,there is no significant difference in the chemical,clinical pregnancy,implantation rate,and miscarriage rate between both groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:Duphaston could be utilized as a suitable medication rather than a GnRH antagonist in women subjected to controlled ovarian hyperstimulation.

The surface of AISI 1045 steel specimens was modified via two duplex surface treatments of (i) titanium diffusion coating followed by plasma nitriding (Ti-PN) and (ii) plasma nitriding followed by titanium diffusion coating (PN-Ti). A comparative study on the microstructure and wear properties of the fabricated TiN coatings was conducted. A scanning electron microscope equipped with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, X-ray diffractometer (XRD), and pin-on-disk wear test was utilized to evaluate the microstructures, phases, and wear properties of the coatings. XRD patterns of duplex-treated specimens illustrated that the modified layer consisted of nitride and carbo-nitride phases such as TiN and TiC0 7N0 3. The results also showed that Ti-PN treatment led to a low friction coefficient and the lowest wear factors, as compared with the PN-Ti treatment. Oxidation and mild fatigue fracture wear were found to be the main wear mechanism of the Ti-PN coating. The wear mechanism in the PN-Ti specimen involved a higher oxidative wear regime followed by plastic deformation wear regimes.

We investigated the influence of different levels of osmotic stress on growth and development in selected wild almond species （eight Prunus spp.） grown in vitro. The study, while endorsing the efficacy of in vitro screening of auxiliary buds of wild almond for osmotic stress tolerance, showed species variability in its response to osmotic stress. Osmotic stress reduced growth and development of all the species. How-ever, the putative tolerant Prunus spp. showed better performance than the putative susceptible genotypes. On average there was an 80% de-crease in shoot dry weight at -1.2 MPa. Reduction in shoot weight was more common in osmotic stress-susceptible species in the section labeled‘Euamygdalus’. The tolerant Prunus species produced smaller changes in biochemical responses than the sensitive cultivars for malondialdehyde content, catalase activity, relative permeability of protoplast membranes, and net photosynthetic rate. The tolerant species maintained cell integrity better than drought sensitive species. Wild almond species in the section labeled ‘Spartioides’ （Prunus arabica （Olivier） Neikle, Prunus glauca＆amp;nbsp;（Browicz） A.E. Murray, Prunus scoparia Spach） and ‘Lycioides’ （Pru-nus lycioides Spach, Prunus reuteri Bossi. et Bushe） were best adapted to osmotic stress. Increase in chlorophyll concentration and leaf thickness under high osmotic stress can be considered as preliminary selection parameters for osmotic stress tolerance in Prunus spp. The study con-firmed the efficacy of the in vitro method for screening of large number of genotypes for osmotic stress tolerance in wild almond species.

Approximately 70%of the applied urea fertilizer may be lost into the *** loss is due to leaching,decomposition and ammonium volatilization in soil,water and *** coating,the slow release technology can be used to reduce losses and to increase the fertilizer *** has been used as a coating material,but the coating cracks easily because of its friability,sometimes being peeled off from the urea *** this study,four types of materials,namely,gypsum,cement,sulfur and zeolite,were mixed and used as coating materials to search for the most effective and cheap coating *** primary reasons for selecting these materials were improving fruit quality and preventing plant diseases,providing a plant nutrient,increasing soil fertility and water *** materials were also selected based on their availability,processiblity and *** effects of the coating materials,thickness,drying time,sieving and sealant on the crushing strength and dissolution rate of urea were *** urea with the same proportion of gypsum-sulfur exhibited high crushing strength and lower dissolution ***,the performance was further enhanced by applying molten paraffin wax on the hot urea *** images demonstrated that the micro-structure of gypsum-sulfur coated urea after sieving resulted in a smoother coated *** efficiency of the coated urea was improved by26%using gypsum-sulfur（20%total coating）,3%paraffin wax and sieving the coating materials before application.

AIM:To study knowledge levels and attitudes of health care providers toward patients with hepatitis C virus infection in Guilan,a northern province of ***:This cross-sectional study was performed on 239 health care professionals from the Razi Hospital,including doctors,nurses,and operating room *** questionnaires consisted of questions on demographic characteristics,knowledge levels,and attitudes toward hepatitis C *** questionnaire was tested in a pilot study and validated by Cronbach' s alpha *** were analyzed using SPSS16 ***:The mean ± SD knowledge score was 17.43 ± 2.65(from a total of 22).51.9% of the participants achieved scores higher than the *** was a significant relationship between knowledge score and age(P = 0.001),gender(P = 0.0001),occupational history(P = 0.0001),and educational history(P = 0.027).There was also a significant relationship between attitude level and age(P = 0.002),gender(P = 0.0001),occupational history(P = 0.0001),and educational history(P = 0.035).Physicians were significantly more knowledgeable and showed more positive *** was a positive correlation between knowledge and attitude scores(P = 0.02).CONCLUSION:Discriminatory attitudes are common among health care providers toward hepatitis C *** is therefore necessary to improve their knowledge level and attitude toward this disease.

Assessment of Effects of Concomitant Exposure to Sound, Heat, and Physical Workload Changes on Physiological Parameters in Five Different Combination Modes, a Controlled Laboratory Study

Exposure to sound,heat,and increased physical workload can change physiological *** study was conducted to evaluate the effect of concomitant exposure to sound,heat,and physical workload changes on physiological parameters in controlled laboratory *** experimental crosssectional study was conducted in 35 male university students with a mean age of 25.75 years and a mean BMI of 22.69 kg/*** and diastolic blood pressure and heart rate were measured after 15 min rest in the laboratory,5 and 10 min after starting the experiment,and then after 20 min in controlled laboratory conditions in five combination *** combination modes were(Sound:65 dB,WBGT:22°C,Speed:1.7,Slope:10%),(Sound:65 dB,WBGT:22°C,Speed:3.4,Slope:14%),(Sound:95 dB,WBGT:22°C,Speed:1.7,Slope:10%),(Sound:65 dB,WBGT:32°C,Speed:1.7,Slope:10%),and(Sound:95 dB,WBGT:32°C,Speed:3.4,Slope:14%).Mixed model analysis and paired t-test were applied for *** results showed that the mean physiological parameters(Systolic and diastolic blood pressure and heart rate)increased when different combination modes worsened(Sound from 65 to 95 dB,WBGT from 22°C to 32°C,speed from 1.7 to 3.4,and slope from 10%to 14%,and when sound:95 dB,WBGT:32°C,Speed:3.4,and Slope:14%).Moreover,the mean changes of systolic and diastolic blood pressure were significant in all conditions when compared with the reference condition(Sound:65 dB,WBGT:22°C,Speed:1.7,and Slope:10%).The mean heart rate changes were also significant except for exposure to the second condition(Sound:65 dB,WBGT:22°C,Speed:3.4,Slope:14%)and the third condition(Sound:95 dB,WBGT:22°C,Speed:1.7,Slope:10%).Exposure to hazardous levels of sound,heat,and workload has adverse effects on physiological *** exposure to all three hazards has a synergistic effect and increases the adverse effect.

Nano-ceramic particles can serve as reinforcing agents for metallic materials to improve their mechanical ***,it is important to ensure chemical compatibility between the matrix and *** the present study,magnesium composites with and without nano-hydroxyapatite(nHA)particles were fabricated for bone reconstruction *** different techniques were used,Conventional Sintering(CS)of powder compacts and Spark Plasma Sintering(SPS)of pre-compacted *** showed that a 10 wt%addition of nHA particles to magnesium,followed by SPS improved the compression strength by 27%.CS did not lead to any significant improvement compared to SPS processing.X-ray diffraction data after CS revealed the formation of unfavorable phases due to chemical reactions between nHA particles and the magnesium matrix,while these phases were absent after SPS *** mechanical properties of the specimens fabricated by CS were much inferior to those processed using *** shorter processing time associated with SPS leaded to reduced interaction between nHA particles and the Mg-matrix,compared to CS.

Association of promoter polymorphism of the CD14 C (-159) T endotoxin receptor gene with chronic hepatitis B

AIM: To investigate whether single-nucleotide polymor- phisms in the promoter regions of endotoxin-responsive genes CD14 C (-159) T is associated with chronic hepatitis B. METHODS: We obtained genomic DNA from 80 patients with established diagnosis of chronic hepatitis B and 126 healthy subjects served as a control population. The CD 14 C (-159) T polymorphism was investigated using an allele specific PCR method. RESULTS: Twenty seven percent of chronic hepatitis B patients and 75% of controls were heterozygous for CT genotype. The difference between the chronic hepatitis B and control groups was statistically significant [P < 0.0001; Odds ratio (OR) = 2.887; 95% CI: 1.609-5.178]. Twenty four point six percent of chronic hepatitis B and patients 12.3% of the control group were heterozygous for TT genotype. The difference between groups was not statistically significant (P = 0.256; OR = 0.658; 95% CI: 0.319-1.358). Forty eight point four percent of chronic hepatitis B patients and 12.7% of control were homozy- gote for CC genotype (P < 0.004; OR = 0.416; 95% CI: 0.229-0.755). The frequency of allele C was 61.9% and allele T was 38.1% in hepatitis B patients group. The frequency of allele C was 55.2% and allele T was 44.8% for the control group (P = 0.179; OR = 1.319; 95% CI: 0.881-1.977). CONCLUSION: The TT heterozygous genotype was not a risk factor for chronic hepatitis B. CC homozygote genotype is protective for hepatitis B. Lack of heterozy- gosis of genotype CT is a risk factor for chronic hepatitis B. Alleles C or T were not risk factors for chronic hepatitis B. These findings show the role of a single-nucleotide polymorphism at CD14/-159 on the development ofchronic hepatitis B. Endotoxin susceptibility may play a role in the pathogenesis of chronic hepatitis B.
