Sb-based materials with high specific capacity have targeted as an alternative anode material for alkali metal ion batteries.Herein,Sb nanoparticles embedded in hollow porous N-doped carbon nanotubes(Sb@N-C nanotubes)are used as freestanding anode for Li-ion batteries(LIBs)and K-ion batteries(PIBs).The Sb@N-C nanotubes demonstrate exceptional reversible capacity of643 mAh·g^(-1)at 0.1 A·g^(-1)with long cycle stability,as well as outstanding rate performance(219.6 mAh·g^(-1)at10 A·g^(-1))in LIBs.As the anode material of PIBs,they reveal impressive capacity of 325.4 mAh·g^(-1)at 0.1 A·g^(-1).The superior electrochemical properties mainly originate from the novel structure.To be specific,the obtained 3D connected network allows for quick ion and electron migration,and prevents the aggregation of Sb nanoparticles.The hollow porous nanotubes can not only accommodate the volume expansion of Sb nanoparticles during cycling,but also facilitate the infiltration of the electrolyte and reduce the ion diffusion length.This work provides a new insight for designing advanced Sb-based anodes for alkali metal ion batteries.

Objective This study aims to evaluate the association between lower grip strength and mortality hazard.Methods We selected 10,280 adults aged 45 to 96 years old from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study and used multivariate Cox proportional hazard models to assess the association of grip strength with mortality hazard.In addition,we explored the possibility of a nonlinear relationship using a 4-knot restricted spline regression.Results We found that elevated grip strength was associated with lower mortality up to a certain threshold.The baseline quartile values of grip strength were 30,37,and 44 kg for males and 25,30,and35 kg for females.After adjusting for confounders,with category 1 as the reference group,the adjusted HRs were 0.58(0.42-0.79)in males and 0.70(0.48-0.99)in females(category 4).We also found a linear association between grip strength values and all-cause death risk(males,P=0.274;females,P=0.883)using restricted spline regression.For males with a grip strength<37 kg and females with a grip strength<30 kg,grip strength and death were negatively associated.Conclusion Grip strength below a sex-specific threshold is inversely associated with mortality hazard among middle-aged and older Chinese adults with chronic diseases.

BACKGROUND Endoscopic ultrasound-guided biliary drainage using electrocautery-enhanced(ECE)delivery of lumen-apposing metal stent(LAMS)is gradually being re-cognized as a viable palliative technique for malignant biliary obstruction after endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP)failure.However,most of the studies that have assessed its efficacy and safety were small and hetero-geneous.Prior meta-analyses of six or fewer studies that were published 2 years ago were therefore underpowered to yield convincing evidence.AIM To update the efficacy and safety of ECE-LAMS for treatment of biliary ob-struction after ERCP failure.METHODS We searched PubMed,EMBASE,and Scopus databases from the inception of the ECE technique to May 13,2022.Primary outcome measure was pooled technical success rate,and secondary outcomes were pooled rates of clinical success,re-intervention,and adverse events.Meta-analysis was performed using a random-effects model following Freeman-Tukey double-arcsine transformation in R soft-ware(version 4.1.3).RESULTS Fourteen eligible studies involving 620 participants were ultimately included.The pooled rate of technical success was 96.7%,and clinical success was 91.0%.Adverse events were reported in 17.5%of patients.Overall reinter-vention rate was 7.3%.Subgroup analyses showed results were generally consistent.CONCLUSION ECE-LAMS has favorable success with acceptable adverse events in relieving biliary obstruction when ERCP is impossible.The consistency of results across most subgroups suggested that this is a generalizable approach.

Objective To explore the synergic mechanism of ginsenoside Rg_(1)(Rg_(1))and aconitine(AC)by acting on normal neonatal rat cardiomyocytes(NRCMs)and pentobarbital sodium(PS)-induced damaged NRCMs.Methods The toxic,non-toxic,and effective doses of AC and the most suitable compatibility concentration of Rg_(1) for both normal and damaged NRCMs exposed for 1 h were filtered out by 3-(4,5)-dimethylthiahiazo(-z-y1)-3,5-diphenytetrazoliumromide,respectively.Then,normal NRCMs or impaired NRCMs were treated with chosen concentrations of AC alone or in combination with Rg_(1) for 1 h,and the cellular activity,cellular ultrastructure,apoptosis,leakage of acid phosphatase(ACP)and lactate dehydrogenase(LDH),intracellular sodium ions[Na^(+)],potassium ions[K^(+)]and calcium ions[Ca^(2+)]levels,and Nav1.5,Kv4.2,and RyR_(2) genes expressions in each group were examined.Results For normal NRCMs,3000µmol/L AC significantly inhibited cell viability(P<0.01),promoted cell apoptosis,and damaged cell structures(P<0.05),while other doses of AC lower than 3000µmol/L and the combinations of AC and Rg_(1) had little toxicity on NRCMs.Compared with AC acting on NRCMs alone,the co-treatment of 3000 and 10µmol/L AC with 1µmol/L Rg_(1) significantly decreased the level of intracellular Ca^(2+)(P<0.01 or P<0.05),and the co-treatment of 3000µmol/L AC with 1µmol/L Rg_(1) significantly decreased the level of intracellular Ca^(2+)via regulating Nav1.5,RyR_(2) expression(P<0.01).For damaged NRCMs,1500µmol/L AC aggravated cell damage(P<0.01),and 0.1 and 0.001µmol/L AC showed moderate protective effect.Compared with AC used alone,the co-treatment of Rg_(1) with AC reduced the cell damage,0.1µmol/L AC with 1µmol/L Rg_(1) significantly inhibited the level of intracellular Na+(P<0.05),1500µmol/L AC with 1µmol/L Rg_(1) significantly inhibited the level of intracellular K+(P<0.01)via regulating Nav1.5,Kv4.2,RyR_(2) expressions in impaired NRCMs.Conclusion Rg_(1) inhibited the cardiotoxicity and enhanced the cardiotonic effect of AC via regulating the ion c

Studies have shown that repetitive transcra nial magnetic stimulation(rTMS)can enhance synaptic plasticity and improve neurological dysfunction.Howeve r,the mechanism through which rTMS can improve moderate traumatic brain injury remains poorly understood.In this study,we established rat models of moderate traumatic brain injury using Feeney's weight-dropping method and treated them using rTMS.To help determine the mechanism of action,we measured levels of seve ral impo rtant brain activity-related proteins and their mRNA.On the injured side of the brain,we found that rTMS increased the protein levels and mRNA expression of brain-derived neurotrophic factor,tropomyosin receptor kinase B,N-methyl-D-aspartic acid receptor 1,and phosphorylated cAMP response element binding protein,which are closely associated with the occurrence of long-term potentiation.rTMS also partially reve rsed the loss of synaptophysin after injury and promoted the remodeling of synaptic ultrastructure.These findings suggest that upregulation of synaptic plasticity-related protein expression is the mechanism through which rTMS promotes neurological function recovery after moderate traumatic brain injury.

Vascular remodeling and angiogenesis are two key processes in the maintenance of vascular homeostasis and involved in a wide array of vascular pathologies. Following these processes, extracellular matrix (ECM) provides the mechanical foundation for vascular walls. Lysyl oxidase (LOX), the key matrix-modifying enzyme, has been demonstrated to significantly affect structural abnormality and dysfunction in the blood vessels. The role of LOX in vascular remodeling and angiogenesis has always been the subject in the current medical research. Therefore, we presently make a summarization of the biosynthesis of LOX and the mechanisms involved in vascular remodeling and angiogenesis, as well as the role of LOX in diseases associated with vascular abnormalities and the therapeutic potential via targeting LOX. In particular, we give a proposal that LOX likely reshapes matrisome-associated genes expressions in the regulation of vascular remodeling and angiogenesis, which serves as a mechanistic insight into the critical role of LOX in these two aspects. Additionally, LOX has also dual effects on the vascular dysfunction, namely, inhibition of LOX for improving hypertension, restenosis and malignant tumor while activation of LOX for curing arterial aneurysm and dissection. LOX-targeted therapy may provide a promising therapeutic strategy for the treatment of various vascular pathologies associated with vascular remodeling and angiogenesis.

The development of non-noble-metal hydrogen evolution electrocatalysts holds great promises for a sustainable energy system.Here,a hybrid W(Mo)S_(2)/NW(Mo)C nanosheet with array structures was reported for an efficient light-as sis ted hydrogen evolution electrocatalysts in acidic solutions.The resulting vertically aligned W(Mo)S_(2)/N-W(Mo)C was supported on a conductive carbon fiber paper,which can be produced through annealing W(Mo)S_(2)nanosheets by simultaneous carbonization and N-doping in Ar/H_(2)atmosphere.This optimized WS_(2)/NWC and MoS_(2)/N-MoC electrode exhibits remarkable lightassisted electrocatalysis activity with overpotentials of0.120 and 0.122 V at 10 mA·cm^(-1)in acidic solutions,respectively.Such high hydrogen evolution activities should be attributed to the electrocatalytic synergistic effects of the abundant active sites existing in different phase boundaries and the absorption for ultraviolet-visible light.This study shows that synthesis of low-cost and highly active W(Mo)S_(2)-based hydrogen evolution electrocatalyst opens up a route toward the development of scalable production of hydrogen fuels.

Numerical study on the wave pattern characteristic of air layer in cavity and the effects of multiple influence factors

Air-layer drag reduction (ALDR) technology for ship energy saving is getting more and more attention in recent years because of the outstanding drag reduction effect. In order to promote practical application, it is necessary to fully understand the two phase flow characteristics of the air layer. Recent experimental studies have shown that the surface of the air layer presents wave pattern, which has an important influence on its damage risk. However, it is difficult to measure the wave pattern quantificationally due to the interference of equipment. The main goal of the present paper is to investigate the wave pattern characteristic of air layer in cavity using numerical simulation method. On this basis, the effect of flow and geometric influence factors are discussed to understand the key control conditions. A computational fluid dynamics (CFD) numerical method based on Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) equations and volume of fluid (VOF) interface capturing method is established, and has been successfully applied in the simulation of air layer wave pattern. Both 2-D and 3-D simulations are carried out, aiming at analyzing air-water interface flow and vortex flow directly. Based on the simulation results, several important conclusions about the mechanism of air layer wave pattern can be obtained. Firstly, it is found to be an inherent characteristic that the wave height of the upstream air layer is higher than that of the downstream. The extremely high wave peak is easy to contact with the flat plate, leading to the breakup of air layer and a “central blank area” phenomenon. With the help of flow analysis, it is found that this characteristic is mainly caused by the strong counterclockwise vortex behind the bow wedge block. Secondly, the air layer stability is reduced with the increase of water flow velocity by affecting the wave height. Ge-based selenides have attracted extensive attention as promising candidates for future optoelectronic applications.Despite great progress has been achieved,the controlled synthesis of GeSe2and GeSe nanostructures and understanding the relative growth mechanisms of them are still lacking.Herein,monodispersed GeSe_(2) nanoflowers with a diameter of~4μm and highly uniform GeSe nanoparticles with a lateral size of~100 nm are presented by using a colloidal synthetic method.It is found that borane tert-butylamine complex(TBAB)plays an important role in determining the Ge-Se crystal phases due to its moderately reducibility.Furthermore,the coexistence of GeSe_(2) and GeSe phases can also be acquired by precisely controlling the amount of TBAB.In brief,this work provides both new insights of the phase control of Gebased selenides by liquid-phase method and a practical means of producing well-controlled germanium selenide nanostructures.

Background The real-world exposure levels of non-therapeutic antibiotics and neonicotinoids in type 1 diabetes(T1D)children and their associations as environmental triggers through gut microbiota shifts remained unknown.We thus investigated the antibiotics and neonicotinoids’exposure levels and their associations with gut microbiota in pediatric T1D.Methods Fifty-one newly onset T1D children along with 67 age-matched healthy controls were recruited.Urine concentrations of 28 antibiotics and 12 neonicotinoids were measured by mass spectrometry.Children were grouped according to the kinds of antibiotics’and neonicotinoids’exposures,respectively.The 16S rRNA of fecal gut microbiota was sequenced,and the correlation with urine antibiotics and neonicotinoids’concentrations was analyzed.Results The overall detection rates of antibiotics were 72.5%and 61.2%among T1D and healthy children,whereas the neonicotinoids detection rates were 70.6%and 52.2%(P=0.044).Children exposed to one kind of antibiotic or two or more kinds of neonicotinoids had higher risk of T1D,with the odd ratios of 2.579 and 3.911.Furthermore,co-exposure to antibiotics and neonicotinoids was associated with T1D,with the odd ratio of 4.924.Antibiotics or neonicotinoids exposure did not affect overall richness and diversity of gut microbiota.However,children who were exposed to neither antibiotics nor neonicotinoids had higher abundance of Lachnospiraceae than children who were exposed to antibiotics and neonicotinoids alone or together.Conclusion High antibiotics and neonicotinoids exposures were found in T1D children,and they were associated with changes in gut microbiota featured with lower abundance of butyrate-producing genera,which might increase the risk of T1D.
