Effects of acute low temperature stress on the endocrine reactions of the Qinghai toad-headed lizard

Endoctinological action is generally thought to be a way for animals to respond to stress at low temperatures. To learn the role of hormones in ectotherms inhabiting alpine environments, we studied the effects of acute low temperature exposure on tile endocrinological reactions of Qinghai toad-headed lizards in the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau. We monitored plasma corticos- terone and insulin concentration of the lizards under five low temperature treatments. We found no significant difference in plasma corticosterone or insulin in lizards among our five different treatments. For males and females the correlation between plasma corticosterone and insulin concentrations was not significant. In contrast to other studies on reptiles at low altitude, we suggest that due to the alpine environment （low temperature and low oxygen concentration） they inhabit, Qinghai toad-headed lizards respond to experimental cold stress slightly to mobilize energy and live their vivid life. In addition, corticosterone and insulin of Qinghai toad-headed lizards are secreted independently along with low temperature treatments

This article describes a method for synthesizing an excellent oil soluble calcium isostearate detergent using isostearic acid and calcium hydroxide as main starting materials. Reaction conditions, including the molar ratios of calcium hydroxide to isostearic acid, methanol to calcium hydroxide and water to calcium hydroxide, the carbonation temperature, the CO_2 flow rate, and the volume of injected CO_2, were optimized. Under the optimized conditions, a high alkalinity calcium isostearate detergent with a total base number(TBN) of 358 mg KOH/g and an overbased calcium isostearate detergent with a value of TBN equating to 406 mg KOH/g could be obtained. Finally, the properties of the calcium isostearate detergent were evaluated by the size distribution analysis, the thermogravimetric analysis(TGA) and the coking tendency tester.

In this article, 12-acryloyloxystearic acid was synthesized, which was then used to prepare the magnesium 12-acryloyloxy stearate detergent. Reaction conditions for synthesizing 12-acryloyloxystearic acid, including the molar ratio of 12-hydroxystearic acid to acrylic acid, the catalyst amount, the esterification temperature, and the esterification time, were optimized. Under the optimized conditions, the 12-acryloyloxystearic acid with an acid value of 159 mg KOH/g and a melting range of between 70.4 ℃ and 71.4 ℃ was obtained. The structure of 12-acryloyloxystearic acid was confirmed by FTIR spectroscopy. Results of preparing magnesium 12-acryloyloxy stearate detergent showed the existence of acryloyloxy radical in 12-hydroxystearic acid could improve the quality of lubricant detergent greatly.

This paper mainly covers a method for preparing a highly alkaline magnesium linoleate solution with a total base number(TBN) value of 328 mg KOH/g using linoleic acid as the biodegradable raw material, which can substitute for traditional lubricant detergents as an environmentally friendly detergent. Reaction conditions, including the molar ratio of magnesium oxide to linoleic acid, the molar ratio of methanol to magnesium oxide, the carbonation temperature, the molar ratio of water to magnesium oxide, the flow rate of CO2 gas and the duration for injection of CO2 to magnesium oxide system, were optimized.

目的探讨维持性血液透析患者感知压力的潜在类别及与积极度的关系。方法采用一般资料调查表、中文版感知压力量表、患者积极度量表对610例维持性血液透析患者进行调查,采用潜在剖面分析对感知压力的潜在类别进行分析。结果维持性血液透析患者感知压力得分为(32.50±8.93)分,可分为4个潜在类别:低压力-易失控型(8.69%)、中等压力型(28.85%)、压力偏高型(43.93%)、高压力型(18.53%),感知压力与积极度呈负相关(r=-0.652,P<0.001),不同感知压力潜在类别积极度得分差异具有统计学意义(P<0.001)。结论维持性血液透析患者感知压力较大,可分为4个潜在类别,以压力偏高型占比最多。在今后的临床和研究中,需根据患者类别特征制订有效的干预措施,降低患者压力水平,提高积极度,以促进患者身心健康。

The aim of this study is to evaluate the hydrogeochemical characteristics and water environmental quality of shallow groundwater in the Suxian mining area of Huaibei coalfield,*** natural formation process of shallow groundwater in Suxian is explored using Piper trilinear charts and Gibbs diagrams,and by examining the ratios between the major *** States Salinity Laboratory(USSL)charts,Wilcox diagrams,and the water quality index(WQI)are further employed to quantify the differences in water *** results reveal that the main hydrochemical facies of groundwater are HC03-Ca,and that silicate dissolution is the main factor controlling the ion content in shallow *** USSL charts and Wilcox diagrams show that most of the water samples would be acceptable for use in irrigation *** WQI results for each water sample are compared and analyzed,and the quality of groundwater samples around collapse ponds is found to be relatively poor.

During the pupal-adult eclosion process of holometabolous insects,the old cuticle is shed and replaced by a completely different new cuticle that requires tanning and expansion,along with extensive extracellular matrix(ECM)*** vertebrates,matrix metalloproteinases(MMPs),a class of zinc-dependent endopeptidases,play key roles in regulating the ECM that surrounds ***,little is known about these extracellular proteinases available in *** small hive beetle(SHB),Aethina tumida,is a widespread invasive parasite of honey *** this study,6 MMP homologs were identified in the SHB *** interference experiments showed that all 6 AtMmps are not required for the larval-pupal transition,only AtMmp2 was essential for pupal-adult eclosion in *** of AtMmp2 resulted in eclosion defects and wing expansion failure,as well as mortality within 3 d of adult *** analysis revealed that knockdown of AtMmp2 significantly increased expression of the Toll and Imd pathways,chitin metabolism,and cross-linking(such as the pro-phenoloxidase activating cascade pathway and the tyrosine-mediated cuticle sclerotization and pigmentation pathway).These data revealed evolutionarily conserved functions of Mmp2 in controlling adult eclosion and wing expansion,also provided a preliminary exploration of the novel function of regulating Toll and Imd pathways,as well as new insights into how MMPs regulate insect development and defense barriers.

采用两步溶液聚合方法合成了一系列聚二甲基硅氧烷(PDMS)-4,4′-二苯基甲烷二异氰酸酯(MDI)-聚乙二醇(PEG)多嵌段共聚物.利用轻敲模式原子力显微镜(AFM)观察了嵌段共聚物的表明形貌,研究了退火、共聚物组成以及PEG分子量和不同的官能团对涂层表面微相分离行为的影响,同时对微相分离行为的形成机理也作了相应的探讨.研究表明,该嵌段共聚物即使在PDMS含量大于50wt%时,涂层表面仍呈现出规整有序的纳米级相分离结构,其中疏水相和亲水相分别由PDMS链段和MDI-PEG组分构成.
