During the boreal summer,intraseasonal oscillations exhibit significant interannual variations in intensity over two key regions:the central-western equatorial Pacific(5°S-5°N,150°E-150°W)and the subtropical Northwestern Pacific(10°-20°N,130°E-175°W).The former is well-documented and considered to be influenced by the ENSO,while the latter has received comparatively less attention and is likely influenced by the Pacific Meridional Mode(PMM),as suggested by partial correlation analysis *** elucidate the physical processes responsible for the enhanced(weakened)intraseasonal convection over the subtropical northwestern Pacific during warm(cold)PMM years,the authors employed a moisture budget *** findings reveal that during warm PMM years,there is an increase in summer-mean moisture over the subtropical northwestern *** increase interacts with intensified vertical motion perturbations in the region,leading to greater vertical moisture advection in the lower troposphere and consequently resulting in convective *** a process is pivotal in amplifying intraseasonal convection *** observational findings were further verified by model experiments forced by PMM-like sea surface temperature patterns.

Male infertility caused by idiopathic oligoasthenospermia(OAT)is known as idiopathic male *** S-transferase(GST)and fluoride may play important roles in idiopathic male infertility,but their effects are still *** study examined the relationship between GST polymorphisms and fluoride-induced toxicity in idiopathic male infertility and determined the underlying ***,blood,and urine samples were collected from 560 *** levels were measured by a highly selective electrode method,and GST genotypes were identified using polymerase chain reaction(PCR)and PCR-restriction fragment length polymorphism(PCR-RFLP).Semen parameters,DNA fragmentation index(DFI),mitochondrial membrane potential(MMP),and oxidative stress(OS)biomarkers were statistically assessed at the P<0.05 *** with healthy fertile group,semen parameters,fluoride levels,OS biomarkers,sex hormone levels,and MMP and DFI levels were lower in the idiopathic male infertility *** glutathione S-transferase M1(GSTM1[-])and glutathione S-transferase T1(GSTT1[-])or glutathione S-transferase P1(GSTP1)mutant genotypes,levels of semen fluoride,OS,MMP,and DFI were considerably higher,and the mean levels of sperm parameters and testosterone were statistically significant in GSTM1(+),GSTT1(+),and GSTP1 wild-type *** semen and blood fluoride levels were associated with oxidative stress in idiopathic male infertility *** fluoride in semen with the genotypes listed above was linked to reproductive quality in idiopathic male infertility *** conclusion,GST polymorphisms and fluorine may have an indicative relationship between reproductive quality and sex hormone levels,and OS participates in the development of idiopathic male infertility.

Nitroso compounds have emerged as highly valuable reaction partners or reagents in organic synthesis due to their rich *** versatile profile of these compounds allows them to function as electrophiles, nucleophiles, diradicals, and radical acceptors in diverse transformations. In recent years, notable progress has been made in harnessing photochemical reactions with nitroso compounds to prepare N,O-containing structures using mild and eco-friendly conditions. Various nitroso compounds like nitrosoarenes, acyloxy nitroso compounds, N-nitrosoamines and nitrites have received significant attention for their ability to introduce NO moieties into complex molecules that are otherwise difficult to access. In this review, we provide an overview of the recent advancements in the visible light-induced conversion of nitroso compounds, with particular emphasis on their role as bifunctional reagents and acceptors of radicals, carbenes and nitrenes.

In this paper, a high refractive index metamaterial （HRM）, whose element is composed of bilayer square patch （BSP） spaced by a dielectric plate, is proposed. By reducing the thickness of the dielectric plate and the gap between adjacent patches, the BSP can effectively enhance capacitive coupling and simultaneously suppress diamagnetic response, which significantly increases the refractive index of the proposed metamaterial. Furthermore, the high refractive index region is far away from the resonant region of the metamaterial, resulting in broadband. Based on these characteristics of BSP, a gradient refractive index （GRIN） lens with thin thickness （0.34/~0, where 2~0 is the wavelength at 5.75 GHz） is designed. By using this lens, we then design a circularly polarized horn antenna with high performance. The measurement results show that the 3-dB axial ratio bandwidth is 34.8% （4.75 GHz-6.75 GHz） and the antenna gain in this frequency range is increased by an average value of 3.4 dB. The proposed method opens up a new avenue to design high-performance antenna.

Numerical Simulation of Macrosegregation Caused by Thermal–Solutal Convection and Solidification Shrinkage Using ALE Model

Solidifi cation shrinkage has been recognized as an important factor for macrosegregation formation. An arbitrary Lagrangian–Eulerian(ALE) model is constructed to predict the macrosegregation caused by thermal–solutal convection and solidi-fi cation shrinkage. A novel mesh update algorithm is developed to account for the domain change induced by solidifi cation shrinkage. The velocity–pressure coupling between the non-homogenous mass conservation equation and momentum equation is addressed by a modifi ed pressure correction method. The governing equations are solved by the streamline-upwind/Petrov–Galerkin-stabilized fi nite element algorithm. The application of the model to the Pb-19.2 wt%Sn alloy solidifi cation problem is considered. The inverse segregation is successfully predicted, and reasonable agreement with the literature results is obtained. Thus, the ALE model is established to be a highly effective tool for predicting the macrosegregation caused by solidifi cation shrinkage and thermal–solutal convection. Finally, the effect of solidifi cation shrinkage is analyzed. The results demonstrate that solidifi cation shrinkage delays the advance of the solidifi cation front and intensifi es the segregation.

Pollutants are carried by sediment-laden flow dissolved in water or adsorbed on sediment particles. A transient three-dimensional model based on a compressible VOF(volume of fluid) method was developed to simulate the transport of dissolved and particulate *** is a numerical technique for acquiring and tracking the free surface of water *** scouring,deposition and re-suspension were simulated and the processes of adsorption and desorption of pollutants on suspended sediment were analyzed.A series of experiments and numerical simulations were performed to study the transportation and dispersion of pollutants in the flow around a non-submerged spur dyke in a straight flume of rectangular *** simulation results agreed well with the experimental results.A certain volume of pollutants solution was released into the flow at upstream of the spur *** concentration reduced with *** concentration reduction was slower in the circumfluence zone than in the main *** ratio of adsorption to desorption coefficients was different for pollutants on suspended sediment with different *** peak concentration of dissolved pollutants increased with the ratio of the adsorption to the desorption *** angle of the spur dyke affected the peak concentration around the *** effect of the angle on dissolved pollutants decreased with the ratio of adsorption to desorption *** adsorption and desorption coefficients,as well as the saturated adsorption capacity had no effect on the concentration of particulate pollutants.
