An efficient preparative method was successfully developed for isolation and purification of unstable components from medicinal plant extracts, using a combined method of preparative high performance liquid chro-matography(HPLC) and solid-phase extraction(SPE). The aim of this study was to obtain an effective method with high preparative efficiency and importantly to avoid the transformation of unstable compounds. The preparative HPLC system was based on an LC/MS controlled four-channel autopurification system. The SPE method was performed with a C18 packing material to trap the target compounds and to remove the acidic additive derived from the mobile phase. Using this method, the unstable iridoid glucosides(IGs) as model compounds were successfully isolated and purified from the extract of Hedyotis diffusa Willd. Six IGs(including one new minor IG) and one nucleotide compound were simultaneously obtained, each with a purity of 91% as determined by HPLC. The structures of the isolated compounds were identified by UPLC/Q-TOF MS, UV, 1D and/or 2D NMR. It was demonstrated that the combination of preparative HPLC with SPE is a versatile tool for preparative purification of unstable compounds from complex natural products.

Background:Due to the high heterogeneity among hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)patients receiving transarterial chemoembolization(TACE),the prognosis of patients varies *** decisionmaking on the initiation and/or repetition of TACE under different liver functions is a matter of concern in clinical ***,we aimed to develop a prediction model for TACE candidates using risk stratification based on varied liver ***:A total of 222 unresectable HCC patients who underwent TACE as their only treatment were included in this *** proportional hazards regression was performed to select the independent risk factors and establish a predictive model for the overall survival(OS).The model was validated in patients with different Child-Pugh class and compared to previous TACE scoring ***:The five independent risk factors,including alpha-fetoprotein(AFP)level,maximal tumor size,the increase of albumin-bilirubin(ALBI)grade score,tumor response,and the increase of aspartate aminotransferase(AST),were used to build a prognostic model(ASARA).In the training and validation cohorts,the OS of patients with ASARA score≤2 was significantly higher than that of patients with ASARA score>2(P<0.001,P=0.006,respectively).The ASARA model and its modified version“AS(ARA)”can effectively distinguish the OS(P<0.001,P=0.004)between patients with Child-Pugh class A and B,and the C-index was 0.687 and 0.706,*** repeated TACE,the ASARA model was superior to Assessment for Retreatment with TACE(ART)and ALBI grade,maximal tumor size,AFP,and tumor response(ASAR)among Child-Pugh class A *** the first TACE,the performance of AS(ARA)was better than that of modified hepatoma arterial-embolization prognostic(mHAP),mHAP3,and ASA(R)models among Child-Pugh class B ***:The ASARA scoring system is valuable in the decision-making of TACE repetition for HCC patients,especially Child-Pugh class A *** modified AS(ARA)can be

Despite the identification of the potato tuber moth Phthorimaea operculella(Zeller)sex pheromone,no effective application based on this pheromone has yet been developed and *** study investigated the effect of pheromone lures,trap densities,heights of trap deployment,and pheromone doses in Yunnan,China,for the purpose of increasing the control efficiency of *** and improving the application of pheromone technology in the *** results showed that lures made of corn oil and red PVC pipes attracted the highest number of moths(11.73±1.90 per trap per day).Sex pheromone loading of 100μg was optimal for trapping moths,but higher doses of pheromone inhibited *** density of traps did not affect capture rates;therefore,the optimum trap density was 30–40 traps ha^(–1).The optimum height of trap deployment was not above the height of the plant *** study provides technical details necessary for the monitoring and control of potato tuber moth using sex pheromones.

Exploring the structure-activity relationship between the performance of gas sensors and the structure of semiconductor metal oxide(SMO)nanomaterials is crucial for understanding and designing gas-sensing materials and overcoming the application limitations of SMO-based gas *** of a single SMO microstructure provides a promising solution to address this scientific problem due to its controllable *** this study,we control the grain boundary(GB)density of Fe_(2)O_(3)nanomaterials using a simple solvothermal *** have similar chemical compositions and crystal phases,providing an ideal platform for studying the influence of the GB density on the gas-sensing ***-sensing tests showed that the Fe_(2)O_(3)-1 sensor with medium GB density and the Fe_(2)O_(3)-2 sensor with high GB density had higher sensitivity and selectivity than the Fe_(2)O_(3)-0 sensors with low GB density before reaching the optimal operating ***,when the GB density increased,the response to acetone decreased slightly,whereas the optimal operating temperature *** work highlights the unique performance of the GB density in enhancing the gas sensitivity of a single SMO.

Current therapies for myocardial infarction and congestive heart failure are limited in efficacy or in applicability. The plasticity of adult stem cells and cellular transplantation offer a novel therapeutic approach to improve cardiac function. This review describes the latest progress in research, summarizes recent studies of adult stem cells and their application in myocardial regenerative medicine in China and abroad, and discusses the future directions of cell transplantation as a new therapy to repair injured hearts. The corporate governance of public libraries is the key work for a long time in *** the national pilots,these pilots have provided reference experience and policy foundation,and set good models for boosting exploration of the new corporate governance structure in all kinds of public libraries across the ***,the proposed corporate governance structure still suffers from issues,such as unbalanced regional development,limited breakthrough innovations,insufficient government support for social forces,and insufficient support for the decision-making power of the ***,further development of the corporate governance structure of public libraries in China should focus on the following aims:clarifying the responsibilities for each stakeholder;making a series of matching rules and regulations;establishing and implementing rules for the"Librarianship Foundation"to guarantee the smooth flow of funds;reforming and innovating the personnel system to reflect the contemporaneity and the regional *** those elements in place,the professional modern public library governance structure that is oriented towards public welfare and based on scientific decisions and a sound incentive-based supervisory system would be built up ***,the governance and service efficiency of Chinese libraries would be improved overall.

Cold atmospheric-pressure He +N2 and He +O2 plasmas are chosen as the representatives for electropositive andelectronegative plasmas, of which the discharge characteristics are studied and then compared to each other by fluidmodels. As the increase of the impurity (N2 or O2) fraction from 0 to 10%, for He + N2 plasmas the electron density andion density increase, the spatiotemporal distributions of electron density, ion density, electron temperature and electrongeneration rate change a little. On contrast, for He + O2 plasmas the electron density decreases, the ion density firstincreases and then decreases, the electron temperature increases in the bulk region, but decreases in the sheath region,and the plasmas transform from g mode to α mode as the significant change of electron generation rate *** electric field is needed in the bulk region to sustain the electronegative plasma, so the electrical characteristics ofHe + O2 plasmas transform form capacitive to resistive with increasing O2 fraction. Meanwhile, the ion-coupling powerincreases dramatically, which can be estimated by a formula based on the electronegativity. A new criterion fordetermining the sheath boundary, |∇E| = 5 kV/cm2, is put forward, which is found suitable for both the electropositive andelectronegative plasmas.
