Smart catalysts that can simultaneously utilize multiple energy sources will have a significant positive impact on the inefficiencies of conventional environmental remediation approaches,and will address their high energy *** this work,we have manufactured multiferroic magnetoelectric photocatalysts that can be simultaneously activated using multiple energy sources for the degradation of organic *** catalysts are composed of Cofe2O4@BifeO3(CfO@BfO)nanooctahedrons(NOs),CfO@BfO nanocubes(NCs),and CfO@BfO nanowires(NWs),and were successful in harnessing energy from three different energy sources,including UV-vis light,acoustically mediated mechanical vibrations and magnetic *** CfO@BfO NOs displayed the most enhanced degradation,reaching 93%,96%,and 99%degradation of RhB dye within 1 h under light,ultrasound,and magnetic fields,*** these energy sources were used simultaneously,significantly increased reaction rates were observed compared to the single-energy source *** of radical trapping experiments indicate that radical species i.e.,Oh·and O2·^-play a dominant role in catalytic degradation of organic pollutant,RhB,under all three *** results will contribute significantly to the development of new environmental technologies that are highly versatile in nature and able to adapt to changing environments to deliver efficient environmental remediation.

Objective: To investigate the antioxidant, antibacterial and phytochemical properties of ethanol extracts of Brachylaena elliptica and Brachylaena ilicifolia against wound infecting bacteria normally found in diabetic ***: The in vitro antioxidant activity of the two plants extracts were investigated spectrophotometrically using 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl, nitric oxide, azino-bis(3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) diammonium salt, hydrogen peroxide(h_2O_2) and ferric reducing power. The antibacterial assay and minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC) was determined using the agar dilution method against five bacteria strains using amoxycillin and ciprofloxacin as positive control. The phytochemical analyses(tannins,total phenol, flavonoids, flavonols, proanthocyanidin, alkaloids and saponins) were assessed using standard ***: The ethanol extract of both plants exhibited strong antioxidant activities in some cases when compared to the standards(vitamin C and BhT). The antibacterial activity of both plants showed an appreciable broad spectrum activity against these wound pathogens with MIC value ranges between 0.3 mg/m L and 5 mg/m L. Tannins,phenols, flavanols, proanthocyanidins and alkaloids content of B. ilicifolia were significantly higher than those in B. elliptica. however, there were no significant differences in the flavanoid content of both plants ***: These results indicated that the ethanol leaf extracts of these plants have antioxidant and antibacterial activity against the tested bacteria possibly due to the presence of bioactive compounds and therefore could be used as alternative therapy against wound infection caused by these bacteria in diabetic patients.

Unique self-assembled iron(II)molybdenum(IV)oxide(fe_(2)Mo_(3)O_(8))mesoporous hollow spheres have been facilely constructed via the bubble-template-assisted hydrothermal synthesis method combined with simple *** compact assembly of small nanoparticles on the surface of the hollow spheres not only provides more active sites for the fe_(2)Mo_(3)O_(8),but also benefits the stability of the hollow structure,and thus improved the lithium storage properties of *** fe_(2)Mo_(3)O_(8) mesoporous hollow spheres exhibit high initial discharge and charge capacities of 1189 and 997 mA∙h∙g^(−1) respectively,as well as good long-term cycling stability(866 mA∙h∙g^(−1) over 70 cycles)when used as a lithium-ion battery *** feasible material synthesis strategy will inspire the variation of structural design in other ternary metal molybdates.

Chemical Properties of Pectin from Industry hot and Cold Break Tomato Products

Tomato processing includes a break step, which involves rapid heating of freshly chopped tomatoes to >90°C for hot break, or 60°C to 77°C for cold break. Pectolytic enzyme deactivation is believed to be the key element in the hot break step;therefore, pectin content of different products should be qualitatively distinct. The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of.h.t break versus cold break on the cell-wall pectin of tomato. Cell-wall pectin from hot and cold break tomato products was isolated and analyzed for carbohydrate composition, degree of polymerization, and degree of esterification. The results showed no observable differences in the cell-wall pectin isolated from the two products, indicating that there was no significant pectolytic breakdown of the tomato in the cold break product, and the pectin might not, by itself, contribute to the differences in the final product viscosity resulting from the two processing techniques.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE As upper extremity (UE)function is critical to those with decreased function of the lower extremities,this study investigated the prevalence and patterns of pain in the UE among individuals with spinal cord injury (SCI). 目的:考察中文版婴儿-学步儿家庭环境观察评估表(The Chinese version of the Infant-Toddler home Observation for Measurement of the Environment Assessment,IT-hOME-C)的信度和效度。方法:本研究招募164个(81个男孩)月龄在12-36个月的儿童,使用中文版本的IT-hOME为研究工具,对儿童的家庭环境进行评估。结果:IThOME-C各维度之间相关显著(卷入性除外),各维度与总分之间均显著相关,观察者一致性为0.941;各维度和学步儿的认知、精细动作和粗大动作有显著相关,能够有效区分城市和流动家庭的家庭环境,具有较好的外部效度。结论:中文版IT-hOME具有良好的信度和效度,可以用来评估我国婴儿和学步儿的家庭环境。
