This study dealt with the electrostrictive responses of polyurethane （PU） actuators with different microphase separation structure, which was a promising candidate for a material used in polymer actuators. In order to construct PUs with different higher-order structure, PUs with various types of polyol were synthesized： poly（neopentyl glycol adipate）（PNAD）, poly（tetramethylene glycol）（PTMG）, and poly（dimethyl siloxnae）（PDMS）. Synthesized PU was characterized by fourier transform-infrared （fT-IR） spectroscopy and gel per- meation chromatography （GPC）. Thermal analysis and mechanical properties of PU films were carried out with differential scanning calorimetry （DSC） and UTM （universal testing machine）, respectively. And PU actuator was formed in a type of monomorph, which was made by carbon black electrodes on the both surfaces of PU film by spin coating method. Actuation behavior was mainly influenced on microphase separation struc- ture and mechanical property of PU. In result, PU actuator with PNAD, polyester urethane, had the largest field-induced displacement.

A field-effect transistor （fET） with two-dimensional （2D） few-layer MoS2 as a sensing-channel material was investigated for label-free electrical detection of the hybridization of deoxyribonucleic acid （DNA） molecules. The high-quality MoS2-channel pattern was selectively formedthrough the chemical reaction of the Mo layer with H2S gas. The MoS2 fET was very stable in an electrolyte and inert to pH changes due to the lack of oxygen-containing functionalities on the MoS2 surface. Hybridization of single-stranded target DNA molecules with single-stranded probe DNA molecules physically adsorbed on the MoS2 channel resulted in a shift of the threshold voltage （Vt,） in the negative direction and an increase in the drain current. The negative shift in Vth is attributed to electrostatic gating effects induced by the detachment of negatively charged probe DNA molecules from the channel surface after hybridization. A detection limit of 10 fM, high sensitivity of 17 mWdec, and high dynamic range of 106 were achieved. The results showed that a bio-fET with an ultrathin 2D MoS2 channel can be used to detect very small concentrations of target DNA molecules specifically hybridized with the probe DNA molecules.

Seoul metropolitan subway network is known to be the one of the most heavily used transportation means in the world. The subway cabins are naturally ventilated when the cabin doors are opened and through the gaps caused by the incomplete air-tightening of cabin bodies. Although, subway trains are equipped with a mechanical exhaust fan, the apparatus is rarely operated due to the problem of heating/cooling efficiency especially in the summer and winter seasons. In this study, we analyzed the transient CO2 (carbon dioxide) concentration level during the journey of a subway cabin when a heavy load of passengers of up to 200% of designed capacity using a CfD (computational fluid dynamics) analysis. With an increased journey time, the CO2 concentration increased by up to 5,000 ppm depending on passenger load. Through the operation of a mechanical exhaust fan, the high concentration of CO2 decreased down to 1,500 ppm. The effect of the exhaust fan operating on the dilution of indoor air was estimated by comparison with a closed cabin. In addition, the energy consumption for cooling in summer time was assessed for exhaust fan operations.

Blighia sapida(***)***(family Sapindaceae)is a branchless straight bole approximately 15 m in *** study evaluated the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities of ethanol extract and fractions of *** stem-bark using in vitro *** extract and its fractions were investigated for 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl(DPPH)radical scavenging activity,ferric reducing antioxidant power(fRAP),total antioxidant capacity(TAC),and quantitative phenolic and flavonoid ***-inflammatory activity was evaluated using albumin denaturation and membrane stabilization *** extract and its fractions exhibited radical scavenging and anti-inflammatory *** ethyl acetate fraction possessed maximum phenolic and flavonoid contents(136.67±1.55 gallic acid equivalent mg/g and 75.76±4.03 quercetin equivalent mg/g,respectively).Antioxidant studies revealed that the ethyl acetate fraction displayed superior activity with an IC_(50)=0.09±0.03 mg/mL DPPH,and values of 146.96±3.81 ascorbic acid equivalent(AAE)mg/g and 359.20±4.98 AAE mg/g for fRAP and TAC,***,the anti-inflammatory activity was revealed by inhibition of heatinduced albumin denaturation and red blood cell membrane stabilization at concentrations of 200 -1000 mg/mL and 50-250 mg/mL,*** ethanol extract and fractions exhibited antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities,with ethyl acetate fraction showing superior activity,which could be attributed to secondary metabolites,mainly phenolic ***,the antioxidant and antiinflammatory activities of *** can be exploited by ethnomedicinal users.
