A facile scalable synthesis of hierarchical Sb/C micro-/nanohybrid has been addressed in this work, which possesses the advantages of both micrometer and nanometer scale structures as lithium-ion battery anode. Difunctional methacrylate monomers are used as solvent and carbon source as well. Liquid precursor of antimony（III） n-butoxide is dissolved in the resin monomer solution, and further incorporated into the cross-linking polymer network via photo polymerization. Through calcination in argon/hydrogen atmosphere, antimony nanoparticles are in situ formed by carbothermal reduction, and homogeneously embedded in the in situ formed micrometer sized carbon matrix. The morphology, structure, crys- tallinity, spatial dispersion, composition, and electrochemical performance of the Sb/C micro-/nanohybrid are systemati- cally investigated. The cyclic and rate performance of the Sb/C micro-/nanohybrid anode have been effectively improved compared to the pure carbon anode. A reversible capacity of 362 mAh g-1 is achieved with a reasonable mass loading density after 300 cycles at 66 mA g-1, corresponding to capacity retention of 79%. With reducing mass loading density, the reversible capacity reaches 793 mAh g-1 after 100 cycles. Moreover, the electrochemical performance of Sb/C micro-/nanohybrid as sodium-ion battery anode is also investigated in this study.

Predictors and Effects of Persistent Hypertension after Successful Treatment of Coarctation of the Aorta

Background:Coarctation of the aorta is a congenital heart disease that sometimes remains clinically silent until adulthood,usually presenting with arterial *** is well known that after coarctation treatment,many patients remain hypertensive despite successful *** this study we approached the predictors and effects of residual hypertension after successful coarctation ***:It was a cross sectional observational study involving 50 patients who underwent Coarctation repair/angioplasty in Ain Shams university *** divided the patients into two groups(hypertensive and normotensive)and we studied their demographic data(e.g.,age,gender,age at first repair,follow up period,etc.)to conclude the possible predictors of persistent hypertension in such *** also performed full echocardiographic assessment including 3D speckle tracking echocardiography to detect subtle changes in left ventricular systolic ***:Hypertensive patients had significantly higher BMI(29.1 kg/m^(2))as compared to normotensives(24 kg/m^(2)),p<*** at first CoA intervention was significantly higher in hypertensive *** patients had significantly lower 3D left ventricular strain measures(Global area strain,global circumferential strain and global longitudinal strain).The incidence of bicuspid aortic valve was significantly higher in the hypertensive group,yet it was not an independent predictor of persistent ***:The predictors for residual hypertension post successful CoA repair were late intervention and higher *** aortic valve was more common in the hypertensive *** the effects of such disease domain,treated CoA patients with persistent hypertension tended to have higher LV mass index and lower values of LV deformation.

Antihyperglycaemic activity of ethylacetate extract of Chlorophytum alismifolium in type 2 diabetes:The involvement of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-γand dipeptidyl peptidase-4

Objective:This research is to investigate the antihyperglycaemic activity and the underlying mechanisms of action of the ethylacetate extract of Chlorophytum alismifolium(EACA)tubers in a type 2 diabetes ***:The tubers were processed and sequentially extracted in hexane followed by ethylacetate,using a Soxhlet apparatus,and subjected to gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC–MS).The acute toxicity of EACA was investigated in albino Wistar *** antihyperglycaemic study was carried out using high-fat diet(pelletized diet and margarine in the ratio of 10:1 and 20%fructose solution)and streptozotocin-induced hyperglycaemic Wistar *** effects of the extract(150,300 and 600 mg/kg)on blood glucose level,insulin,peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-c(PPAR-c)and dipeptidyl peptidase-4(DPP-4)were evaluated using enzyme-linked immunosorbent ***:The oral median lethal dose in Wistar rats was estimated to be>5000 mg/*** with EACA at all doses significantly reduced the fasting blood glucose levels,compared to the hyperglycaemic control,and over *** of EACA increased the serum insulin and PPAR-c levels while decreasing DPP-4 ***–MS analysis revealed the presence of 13 compounds,with isothiazole and isoxazolidine covering total area of 24.6%and 22.69%,***:The findings from this study showed that EACA has important compounds with beneficial effect in type 2 diabetes and acts by increasing insulin secretion and PPAR-c level and decreasing DPP-4 activity.

E-shaped wideband plasmonic nantennas with linear and dual-linear polarizations

In this paper we present a novel nanoantenna(nantenna) design for energy harvesting. The nantenna has an 'E'shape and is placed on a Si O2 substrate. Its operation is based on the excitation of surface plasmon polaritons through the gold arms of the E shape. By varying the lengths and widths of the arms, two overlapping working bandwidths can be achieved. This results in a wideband behavior characterized by a full width at half-maximum of about 2.2 μm centered around 3.6 μm. Two orthogonal E nantennas are placed perpendicular to each other to realize a dual-polarized nantenna. This nantenna can receive the two incident polarizations at two separate gap locations with very high isolation. The proposed structure can be used in several energy harvesting applications, such as scavenging the infrared heat from the Earth and other hot objects, in addition to optical communications.

Adenosine or Magnesium Sulphate as Adjuvants for Pectoral Nerves Block in Modified Radical Mastectomy: A Randomized Controlled Trial

Introduction: Magnesium sulphate can prolong the effect of local anaesthetics. Adenosine has not been compared to other local anaesthetics adjuvants. In the present study we aimed to compare the effect of adding magnesium sulphate and adenosine to bupivacaine for pectoral nerves block. Patients and Methods: In this randomized controlled trial, 90 females scheduled for breast surgery were included. Patients were divided into three groups. Patients received general anaesthesia with pectoral nerves block. Group C, A, and M had bupivacaine only, bupivacaine + adenosine, and bupivaciane + magnesium sulphate respectively. Post-operative visual analogue score, block duration, post-operative morphine consumption, sedation score, and peri-operative haemodynamic changes were recorded. Results: Visual analog score was lower in Group M compared to other groups. Group A and M showed significant longer duration of the block. Group M showed significant longer duration of action than Group A (p = 0.034). The total peri-operative morphine used was higher in Group C (p 0.05). Conclusions: Local anaesthetic adjuvants such as adenosine or magnesium sulphate can improve pectoral nerves block characteristics. Magnesium sulphate has an advantage over adenosine by increasing the block duration.

在埃及沙漠东南部哈马希地区,黄铜矿、黄铁矿和金产在花岗质岩石的石英脉中,以及呈散点状和浸染状分布在高蚀变变质火山岩的剪切带中。这些矿物部分与磁黄铁矿,蓝辉铜矿,黝铜矿,辉铜矿,斑铜矿,铜蓝共生。黄铁矿产出的形式有两种:(1)含早期硫化物包体的自形至半自形粗晶;(2)细晶质集合体。黄铜矿产出的形式有三种:(1)自形粗晶;(2)细晶质显微包体;(3)他形残余矿物。硫化物矿化有三个成因相,它们与结晶溶液的逐渐冷却有关。在高温无序相中,金产在早期硫化物矿物中,自然金产在最晚期降温相由于含金黄铁矿的再活化形成。电子探针分析证实金和铜在晚期黄铁矿中含量较高。可鉴定的地表蚀变矿物有针铁矿、褐铁矿、金、碳酸盐及Fe、Cu硫酸盐。

在哈马希(Hamash) 金矿区,黄铁矿、黄铜矿和金产于花岗质岩石的石英脉中,或呈星散浸染状产于强烈蚀变的变质火山岩剪切带中,与磁黄铁矿、蓝辉铜矿、黝铜矿、辉铜矿、斑铜矿、铜蓝共生。黄铁矿以自形一半自形粗粒晶体和细晶质集合体形式产出。黄铜矿以自形粗粒晶体、细晶质显微包裹体和他形残留体形式产出。硫化物矿化作用分三期,并与结晶熔融体的温度逐渐冷却有关。金形成于高温无序相所形成的较早期硫化物矿物中。自然金是在成矿最晚期,随着温度下降,通过含金黄铁矿的再活化作用而形成。金和铜相对富集于后期的黄铁矿中。地表蚀变产物有针铁矿、褐铁矿、金、碳酸盐和铁、铜的硫酸盐类。
