The effect of different combinations of botanical spices such as clove and nutmeg in different proportion on the antioxidants activities which include lipid peroxidation(LPO),superoxide dismutase(SOD),catalase(CAT),glutathione-S-transferase(GST)and glutathione peroxide(GPX)in juveniles and adults sizes of Clarias gariepinus was investigated using different combinations of clove(C),and nutmeg(C.N 0:0-Control 0%of Clove and Nutmeg;C.N 1:3-25%Clove and 75%Nutmeg;C.N 3:1-75%Clove and 25%Nutmeg;C.N 2:2-50%Clove and 50%Nutmeg;C.4-100%Clove;N4-100%)in *** results from the study indicated that the anaesthetic caused a substantial(punder *** highest deviations in the studied antioxidants were observed in the fish exposed to C4 combination of the anaesthetics and the lowest in the *** results from this work therefore suggest that the anaesthetics can alter antioxidants levels in the fish which was more noticeable in the fish exposed to C.N 3:1-75%Clove and 25%Nutmeg;C.N 2:2-50%Clove and 50%Nutmeg;C.4-100%Clove;N4-100%.Hence fish farmers and scientists are advised to take caution when combining these plant extracts for use in aquaculture.

The optimization and kinetics of glucose production via enzymatic hydrolysis of mixed peels were carried *** substrate was characterized using proximate analysis and *** process was optimized using response surface methodology while the kinetics of the hydrolysis was studied using Michealis-menten *** results obtained showed that the mixed peels have high hemicellulose content,hydrolysable carbohydrate and *** optimum conditions for glucose yield of 79%by enzymatic hydrolysis are temperature of 36℃,time of five days,pH of 4.55 and enzyme dosage of 0.428 g/50 *** hydrolysis obeyed Michealis-Menten kinetic model with spontaneous and feasible ***,the results have proved that mixed peels(cassava and potato peels)is a good substrate for glucose production and study of other waste peels as feed-stock is recommended.

In this paper,we revisit the well-known Hong_Ou-Mandel(HOM)effect in which two photons,which meet at a beamsplitter,can interfere destructively,leading to null in coincidence *** a standard HOM measurement,the coincidence counts across the two output ports of the beamsplitter are monitored as the temporal delay be-tween the two photons prior to the beamsplitter is varied,resulting in the well-known HOM *** show,both theoretically and experimentally,that by leaving the delay fixed at a particular value while relying on spectrally resolved coincidence photon counting,we can reconstruct the HOM dip,which would have been obtained through a standard delay-scanning,non-spectrally resolved HOM *** show that our numerical reconstruction procedure exhibits a novel dispersion cancellation effect,to all *** discuss how our present work can lead to a drastic reduction in the time required to acquire a HOM interferogram,and specifically discuss how this could be of particular importance for the implementation of fficient quantum optical coherence tomog-raphy devices.

background:Immune checkpoint inhibitors play an important role in the treatment of solid tumors, but the currently used immune checkpoint inhibitors targeting programmed cell death-1 (PD-1), programmed cell death ligand-1 (PD-L1), and cytotoxic T-lymphocyte antigen-4 (CTLA-4) show limited clinical efficacy in many breast cancers. b7H3 has been widely reported as an immunosuppressive molecule, but its immunological function in breast cancer patients remains unclear.Methods:We analyzed the expression of b7H3 in breast cancer samples using data from the Cancer Genome Atlas Program (TCGA) and the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) databases. MicroRNAs were selected using the Tarbase, miRTarbase, and miRbase databases. The regulatory role of the microRNA hsa-miR-214-3p on b7H3 was investigated through dual-luciferase reporter assays, which identified the specific action sites of interaction. The expression levels of b7H3 and hsa-miR-214-3p in human breast cancer tissues and adjacent normal tissues were quantified using Western blotting and quantitative PCR (qPCR). experiments were performed to observe the effects of modulating the expression of b7H3 or hsa-miR-214-3p on breast cancer cell proliferation and apoptosis. Additionally, the regulatory impact of hsa-miR-214-3p on b7H3 was examined. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA) and flow cytometry were employed to assess the effects of co-cultured breast cancer cells and normal human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PbMCs) on immune cells and associated cytokines.Results:In breast cancer tissues, the expression level of b7H3 is inversely correlated with that of hsa-miR-214-3p, as well as with the regulatory effects on breast cancercell behavior. Hsa-miR-214-3p was found to inhibit breast cancer cell growth by downregulating b7H3. In recent years, the usages of by-products and wastes in industry have become more important. The importance of the sustainable development is also of increasing. The utilizations of wastes, as mineral admixture or fine aggregate, reduce the consumption of the natural resources and improve the durability of concrete. In this study, the effect of the fineness on the high temperature and sulphate resistances of concrete mortar specimens, produced with ground granulated blast-furnace slag (GbFS) replacing cement, is investigated. The compressive and flexural strength test results for all series related to durability effects, exposing temperature and solutions, exposure times for these durability effects, slag content and fineness are discussed. Conse- quently, the optimum slag contents are determined for producing the sulphate and high temperature resistant mortars.

The title compound, trans-bis（acesulfamato-O）tetraaquazinc（Ⅱ）（I, C8H16N2O12S2Zn）, crystallizes in the triclinic system, space group P1 with a = 5.1638（5）, b = 8.5338（9）, c = 9.9583（9）A, α = 74.325（8）, β = 81.112（7）, γ = 75.800（8）°, V= 407.77（7） A3, Z = 1, F（000） = 236, Rint = 0.085, T= 296 K, the final R = 0.029 and wR = 0.078 for 1832 observed reflections with I〉 2σ（0. The ZnⅡcentre resides on a centre of symmetry and has a distorted octahedral geometry. The basal plane is defined by two carbonyl O atoms of two monodentate trans-oriented acesulfamato ligands and two trans-aqua ligands. The axial positions in the octahedron are occupied by two trans-aqua ligands. Intermolecular O-H…O hydrogen bonds produce R22（8） and R22（16） rings, which lead to two- dimensional polymeric chains.

Flooding of Municipal areas is a frequent environmental occurrence in Rivers State that occurs when rainfall runoff meets land surfaces with low water absorbing capacity or when it overwhelms drainage *** order to assess the flood situation in the study area,an integrated method which involves field-measurement,geographic information system(GIS),laboratory analysis of soil samples and topographic studies were *** elevation model of the study area reveals that the flooded areas are situated in areas with elevations lower than its surrounding,thereby acting as a natural basin to retain flood waters after *** holes were drilled to depth of 3 m to obtain soil samples at 1 m sampling interval,from which laboratory analysis was carried out to determine some geotechnical parameters such as soil’s particle size,specific gravity,bulk density,porosity,moisture content,permeability and hydraulic *** of the analysis show that permeability,hydraulic conductivity and porosity diminishes with respect to *** soil in the flooded areas have high fines content(silt and clay),high bulk density which increase with depth and a specific gravity that is typical of organic rich soils that contain sand mixed with a considerable amount of *** Nkpolu,mean permeability rates of 0.003 cm/sec,0.009 cm/sec and 0.033 cm/sec were obtained at 1,2 and 3 m *** Eneka,mean permeability rates of 0.011 cm/sec,0.018 cm/sec and 0.014 cm/sec were obtained at 1,2 and 3m respectively,while at Rukpokwu,mean Permeability rates of 0.021 cm/sec was obtained at 1 m,while 0.006 cm/sec was obtained at 2 and 3 m *** mean hydraulic conductivity for the locations under study is of the order of 10-4 ft/*** study has shown that the flooded areas are located in low lying urban areas which act as basins,therefore,the top soil is crusted with highly compacted soil horizons *** high and frequent rainfall in the region which genera
