Corrosion Behavior of Reinforcement Steel Embedded in Cement Mortars Using Different Protection Systems

Although reinforced concrete structures are able to withstand towards a variety of adverse environmental conditions, reinforcement corrosion could lead to concrete structure deterioration. The present study examines four different ways of using corrosion inhibitors against pitting corrosion. In particular, it was investigated the chloride penetration resistance of reinforced cement mortars using corrosion inhibitor applied in three different ways. The corrosion behavior of the specimens was evaluated by electrochemical methods such as Linear Polarization Resistance and Halfcell Potential Resistance. In addition, the mass loss of steel rebars against time of partially immersion in sodium chloride (NaCl) solution was carried out in the lab. The experimental results showed that the corrosion systems examined in the study provide anticorrosion protection on steel rebars against chlorides comparing with the reference group.

Carcinosarcoma(CS),also known as metaplastic breast carcinoma with mesenchymal differentiation,is one of the five distinct subtypes of metaplastic breast *** is considered as a mixed,biphasic neoplasm consisting of a carcinomatous component combined with a malignant nonepithelial element of mesenchymal origin without an intermediate transition *** cellular origin of this neoplasm remains controversial,most researchers declare that neoplastic cells derive from a cellular structure with potential biphasic *** recent research on the therapeutic strategies against CS neoplastic disorders,surgical resection appears the only potentially curative *** CS metastasize by the lymphatic route,axillary assessment with sentinel lymph node biopsy and/or axillary lymph node dissection is always ***,the tumor also presents a hematogenous metastatic pattern including pleural,pulmonary,liver,brain and less commonly bone ***,surgical removal of breast CS does not necessarily ensure patient’s long-term ***,alternative therapies,such as radio-and chemotherapy proved insufficient and 5-year survival rate is ***,there is evidence that following surgery,the combination of radio and chemotherapy is associated with a better prognosis than either treatment *** aim of this review is to evaluate the results of surgical treatment for breast CS with special reference to the extent of its histological *** features,histogenesis,morphological and immunochemical findings are discussed,while the role of current diagnostic and therapeutic management of this aggressive neoplasm is emphasized.

Tight regulation of gene expression is orchestrated by *** recent research advancements,it is becoming clear that enhancers are not solely distal regulatory elements harboring transcription factor binding sites and decorated with specific histone marks,but they rather display sign atures of active transcription,showingdistinct degrees oftranscription unit ***,a substantial fraction of enhancers give rise to different species of non-coding RNA transcripts with an unprecedented range of potential *** this review,we bring together data from recent studies indicating that non-coding RNA transcription from active enhancers,as well as enhancer-produced long non-coding RNA transcripts,may modulate or define the functional regulatory potential ofthe cognate *** addition,we summarize supporting evidence that RNA processing ofthe enhancer-associated long non-coding RNA transcripts may constitute an additional layer of regulation of enhancer activity,which contributes to the control and final outcome of enhancer-targeted gene expression.

The emergence of the energy self-sufficient home presents a new role for government taxation. Policymakers now face the challenge of reflecting this technological change in their decision-making and must assume a greater level of engagement. This paper proposes a number of original fiscal concepts for policymakers to implement in the support of micro-grid development. These are designed to optimise a sustainable transition away from the centralised energy system whilst creating shared value among stakeholders throughout the value chain. Concepts are based on residential micro-grid schemata in Switzerland and are applicable in other countries.

The phase composition,microstructure and hardening of aluminum-based experimental alloys containing0.3%Sc,0?14%Si and0?10%Ca(mass fraction)were *** experimental study(electron microscopy,thermal analysis and hardnessmeasurements)was combined with Thermo-Calc software simulation for the optimization of the alloy *** wasdetermined that the maximum hardening corresponded to the annealing at300?350°С,which was due to the precipitation of Al3Scnanoparticles with their further *** alloys falling into the phase region(Al)+Al4Ca+Al2Si2Ca have demonstrated asignificant hardening *** ternary eutectic(Al)+Al4Ca+Al2Si2Ca had a much finer microstructure as compared to the Al?Sieutectic,which suggests a possibility of reaching higher mechanical properties as compared to commercial alloys of the *** commercial alloys of the A356type,the model alloy does not require quenching,as hardening particles are formed in thecourse of annealing of castings.

The lifetime risk for ovarian cancer incidence is 1.39% and the lifetime risk of death is 1.04%.Most ovarian cancer patients are diagnosed at advanced stages(Ⅲ,Ⅳ)because there were no specific symptoms or existing screening *** metastases have been found in up to 50% of patients dying of advanced ovarian *** studies indicate the need for a multidisciplinary approach from initial diagnosis to oncologic surgery and chemotherapy treatment,mandating the involvement of gynecologic oncologists,surgical oncologist,medical oncologists,hepatobiliary surgeons,and interventional radiologists.

Less attention has been given to soil enzymes that contribute to beneficial rhizosphere interactions in intercropping ***,we performed a field experiment by growing faba bean,lupine,and maize in mono and mixed cultures in a moderately fertile *** measured shoot biomass and the kinetic parameters(maximal velocity(V max)and Michaelis-constant(K m))of three key enzymes in the rhizosphere:Leucine-aminopeptidase(LAP),β-1,4-N-acetylglucosaminidase(NAG),and phosphomonoesterase(PHO).Faba bean benefitted in mixed cultures by greater shoot biomass production with both maize and lupine compared to its expected biomass in ***,LAP and NAG kinetic parameters were less responsive to mono and mixed cultures across the crop *** contrast,both the V max and K m values of PHO increased in the faba bean rhizosphere when grown in mixed cultures with maize and lupine.A positive relative interaction index for shoot P and N uptake for faba bean showed its net facilitative interactions in the mixed ***,these results suggest that over-productivity in intercropping is crop-specific and the positive intercropping effects could be modulated by P *** argue that the enzyme activities involved in nutrient cycling should be incorporated in further research.

A pilot study of the relative number of circulating tumor cells and leukocytes containing actin-binding proteins in head and neck cancer patients

Circulating tumor cells(CTCs)play an important role in tumor metastases,which is positively correlated with an increased risk of ***-binding proteins,including cofilin(CFL1),profilin 1(PFN1),and adenylate cyclase-associated protein 1(CAP1),are thought to be involved in tumor cell motility and metastasis,specifically in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma(HNSCC).However,currently,there are no published studies on CFL1,PFN1,and CAP1 in CTCs and leukocytes in HNSCC *** assessed serum levels of CFL1,PFN1,and CAP1 and the number of CTCs and leukocytes containing these proteins in blood from 31 HNSCC patients(T1-4N0-2M0).The analysis used flow cytometry and an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay *** found that CAP1+CTCs and CAP1+leukocyte subpopulations were prevalent in these HNSCC patient samples,while the prevalence rates of CFL1+and PFN1+CTCs were relatively *** with stage T2-4N1-2M0 had CFL1+and PFN1+CTCs with an elevated PFN1 serum level,compared with the T1-3N0M0 *** summary,the PFN1 serum level and the relative number of PFN1+CD326+CTCs could be valuable prognostic markers for HNSCC *** current study is the first to obtain data regarding the contents of actin-binding proteins(ABPs)in CTCs,and leukocytes in blood from HNSCC *** is also the first to assess the relationship between the number of CTCs subgroups and disease characteristics.
