the majority of men with advanced prostate cancer develop bone metastases as opposed to metastases at other sites. It has been unclear why prostate cancer selectively metastasizes to and proliferates in bone. Recently, Shiozawa et al. delineated a mechanism that may account for the establishment of prostate cancer in bone. Specifically, they identified that prostate cancer cells compete with hematopoietic stem cells （HSC） for the osteoblast in the HSC niche of the bone. Defining the mechanisms through which prostate cancer cells establish themselves in bone is critical towards developing effective therapeutic strategies to prevent or target bone metastases.

In order to design effective therapies for prostate cancer, a clear understanding of mechanisms that contribute to various components of prostate cancer progression is necessary. Study of metastasis suppressor genes, i.e., genes that can inhibit metastasis, is an important field of study that can lead to identification of therapeutic targets to diminish metastasis.

A SiC nanofilms have been deposited and investigated on quartz and silicon substrates using pulsed laser deposition technique with the 300 pulses of Nd:YAG laser at two different laser wavelengths of 1064 nm and 532 *** structural,morphological,and optical properties of the deposited nanostructure SiC were prepared and characterized as a function of the wavelengths of the used *** structural result shows four different pecks at(111),(200),(220),and(311)planes related to Nano *** transmission result presents that the optical energy gap value for the SiC nanostructure is depended on the wavelength of the used laser and it is found about the range(3.03 eV–3.23 eV).the investigations of the SEM and AFM show that the prepared SiC Nano-films having a grain size range(36.34–48.75)nm and roughness about 4.462 to 3.062 ***/Si hetero-junction devices show an enhanced performance at 532 nm.

Metformin targets multiple signaling pathways in cancer

Parvalbumin interneurons（PV-IN） are capable of fast GABA release onto their target neurons. the input layer of auditory cortex contains a dense population of PV-INs involved in feedforward inhibition of principal neurons. During a critical period in postnatal development, sensory experience can shape the representation of sound frequency in the auditory cortex, and plasticity of PV-INs might contribute to this critical period plasticity. Here, we discovered bi-directional, spike-timing dependent plasticity at the output synapses of PV-INs onto principal neurons in layer 4 of mouse auditory cortex. Long-term potentiation of inhibition（iLtP） is observed with an AP sequence of principal cell then PV-IN（thus, post-pre sequence）;this iLtP is mediated by the retrograde release of BDNF. Conversely, the opposite AP sequence（pre-post） induces long-term depression of inhibition（iLtD）, which depends on postsynaptic GABAB receptor signaling. Interestingly, iLtD is converted into i LtP by auditory sensory experience, and by further maturation of mice. Genetic elimination of GABAB receptors in principal neurons of layer 4 leads to a loss of iLtD, to a dysregulation of inhibitory synaptic strength, and to deficits in the experience-dependent remodeling of sensory representations during the critical period. thus, our study shows rules of spike-timing dependent plasticity at the output synapses of PV-INs, and furthermore suggests that spike-timing dependent iLtD contributes to the re-modeling of sensory representations in the developing auditory cortex.
