A method using a short-time derivatization step for the asses.ment of abamectin in water is pres.nted. Abamectin derivative stable up to 7 days was obtained. Some regions where orange crops are pres.nt have received abamectin doses. aiming to increase the productivity and to combat pes.s and weeds, even when its res.dues.reach the aquatic environment and interfere on water quality. Water samples.from Jacaré-Pepira River (Brotas City, Brazil) nearby orange crops around urban zone, were evaluated for the pres.nce of abamectin. The analytical method was validated res.lting recovery around 108%, precision of 12%, accuracy of 104%, correlation coefficient of 0.9945, and detection and quantification limits of 0.1 μg·L﹣1 and 0.2 μg·L﹣1, res.ectively. Stable abamectin derivative was reached after 60 min of derivatization at room temperature (25°C). No abamectin res.dues.were found into samples.

Model reference adaptive control is a viable control method to impose the demanded dynamics on plants whose parameters are affected by large uncertainty. In this paper, we show by means of experiments that robust adaptive methods can effectively face nonlinearities.that are common to many automotive electromechanical devices. We consider here, as a repres.ntative case study, the control of a strongly nonlinear automotive actuator. The experimental res.lts confirm the effectivenes. of the method to cope with unmodeled nonlinear terms and unknown parameters. In addition, the engineering performance indexes.computed on experimental data clearly show that the robust adaptive strategy provides.better performance compared with those given by a classical model-based control solution with fixed gains.

The Sergipano Orogenic System(SOS)in southern Borborema Province(NE Brazil)hosts voluminous Neoproterozoic plutonism related to the Brasiliano/Pan-African *** paper pres.nts comprehensive whole-rock geochemical data,titanite U-Pb ages.and the first combined zircon U-Pb and Lu-Hf isotope res.lts for plutonic rocks from the MacururéDomain to constrain their sources.petrogenes.s,and tectonic *** magmatic episodes.are recognized and record the evolutionary stages.of the orogen.(i)Early-collisional magmatism(643–628 Ma)comprises.gabbros and diorites.with minor tonalites.characterized by well-developed tectonic foliation and evidence of solid-state *** rocks are magnes.an,high-K calc-alkaline,LILE-and LREE-enriched and provide subchondriticε_(Hf)(t)values.6.5 to4.7)and Orosirian Hf-T^(C)_(DM)model ages.1.83–1.94 Ga).Such features.indicate derivation from a lithospheric mantle source metasomatized by incorporating crustal components through subduction proces.es.prior to magma generation,possibly related to the Rhyacian Orogeny(2.20–1.96 Ga).Extensive mixing/mingling between basaltic and crust-derived magmas took place at lower crustal depths,producing coeval hybrid diorites.and quartz-diorites.(ii)Syn-collisional magmatism(630–624 Ma)encompasses.biotite-and muscovite-bearing granodiorites.and monzogranites.pres.rving their structures.parallel to the schistosity of the country *** rocks are leucocratic,weakly metaluminous to peraluminous,and contain abundant surmicaceous *** features.and geochemical composition sugges. an origin related to the partial melting of graywacke protoliths with a subordinate igneous component.(iii)Late-collisional magmatism(625–600 Ma)includes.undeformed and isotropic monzonites.and granodiorites.which truncate the regional *** rocks are consistently metaluminous and magnes.an,showing affinities.with the high-K calc-alkaline to shoshonite *** element modeling with su

Chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection affects about 350 million individuals worldwide. Management of HBV infection in pregnancy is difficult because of several peculiar and somewhat controversial aspects. The aim of the pres.nt review is to provide a tool that may help physicians to correctly manage HBV infection in pregnancy. This review focuses.on (1) the effect of pregnancy on HBV infection and of HBV infection on pregnancy; (2) the potential viral transmission from mother to newborn des.ite at-birth prophylaxis with immunoglobulin and vaccine; (3) possible prevention of mother-to-child transmission through antiviral drugs, the type of antiviral drug to use considering their efficacy and potential teratogenic effect, and the timing of their administration and discontinuation; and (4) the evidence for the use of elective caes.rean section vs vaginal delivery and the possibility of breastfeeding.

This paper examines.the impact of fiscal res.duum--the exces. of expenditure benefits over tax burdens--on the location choice of foreign direct inves.ments among China＇s provinces. Using data provided by the National Bureau of Statistics of China we propose two fiscal res.duum indexes.for China＇s provinces.over the period 1998-2004. According to Buchanan＇s original definition of fiscal res.duum a first index is given by the difference between government expenditure and revenue. A second index measures.enterprises. net fiscal benefit and is calculated as the difference between public expenditure that affect busines. activities.and taxes.paid by enterprises. We found that the first index does.not significantly affect the FDI localization choice while the second one positively affects it. When looking at different subsets of provinces.we found that for eastern provinces.the first index has a positive and significant effect. Thes. res.lts confirm the role of the net fiscal benefit as a determinant of FDI inflows at the provincial level.

Compositionally zoned plutons, both layered and concentrically arranged, provide granitic exposures.where the mechanisms and timing of the magmatic emplacement proces.es.can be studied. The importance of in-situ geochemical differentiation and the magma replenishment rates.are revealed by geochemistry and field relations, together with the increasingly accurate U-Pb geochronology, which has promoted the knowledge about the pluton incremental assembly *** Flamenco pluton, located in the Coastal Range of northern Chile, is part of the Upper Triassic to Early Cretaceous Andean intrusives.formed in the wes.ern active margin of South America, and pres.nt a normal zoned structure with mafic magmatic facies.mostly gabbros and Qtz-diorites. close to the contacts with the host metasediments, and tonalites. granodiorites.and granites.in the inner areas. A combined study of the field relations, geochemistry and zircon geochronology of the magmatic facies.was applied to determine the emplacement sequence of the Flamenco pluton, revealing three distinguishable domains separated by metasedimentary septa. The SW area is constituted by mostly homogeneous leucocratic granodiorites.that yielded an age of 213 Ma as the bes. es.imation for their emplacement age. Distinctive geochemical characteristics, such as the absence of an Eu anomaly, the depletion in HREE, or the highes. Sr, Sr/Y and Ce/Yb values.among the granodioritic facies.of the pluton,involve lower T and/or higher P conditions at the magmatic source according to experimental *** conditions were es.ablished during an early stage of the Andean magmatic arc building that is firstly defined here as Upper Triassic. AIM:To inves.igate the spleen vascular involvement and the pres.nce of liver fibrosis in a population of subjects with es.ablished systemic sclerosis(SSc).METHODS:In a cross-sectional fashion,17 patients with SSc were compared with 18 patients suffering from hepatitis C virus(HCV) -related liver cirrhosis,grade A and B Child-Pugh *** non elderly subjects,apparently healthy,were used as the control *** artery res.stivity index(SARI) at doppler ultraSound,transient elastography of liver and nailfold capillaroscopy were the main ***:Transient elastography values.of SSc patients were similar to those of controls;5.2±1.1 vs 4.5 ±1,(P=0.07).Median Alanine amino transferase(ALT) concentrations of cirrhotic patients were greater than those of controls and SSc patients,i.e.66.5(36-89) U/L vs 29(22-34) U/L and 31(22-41) U/L,res.ectively,(P =0.005).SARI determinations in cirrhotic patients,although significantly higher than those found in controls and SSc patients,showed some degree of overlap with SSc patients,i.e.0.59 vs 0.52 and 0.57,res.ectively,(P =0.04).Mean systolic blood pres.ure was significantly higher in SSc patients than in cirrhotics and controls,i.e.142 mmHg vs 128.2 mmHg and 127 mmHg,res.ectively,(P=0.005).Mean diastolic blood pres.ure behaved in a similar fashion,i.e.84 mmHg vs 72.2 mmHg and 76.9 mmHg(P=0.005).Nailfold Capillaroscopy grades.and diastolic blood pres.ure values.correlated well with SARI ***:An enhanced res.stivity of the splenic artery was found in patients suffering from SSc;they did not have evidence of splenomegaly as well as no liver fibrosis or any other form of liver damage.
